CCBH Crushed Curry – You can Count on Me

CCS Logo 2021-22

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 14 – Crushed Curry

Oh how I love this cute stamp set, Count on Me. I don’t know why it has taken me so long to get it! My thinking was, Crushed Curry reminds me of honey and bears love honey, so lets try and make something work along these lines. I have a niece who is turning one soon, so I had her in mind with this card, as when you open it, you see the word ‘one’.

My card base is Crushed Curry card with a layer of In Good Taste DSP, 5mm smaller than the card front. Add glue just around the edges and adhere this to front of the card, so the centre circle will pop out once you die cut it with the Layering Circle Dies. This is then added to the inside panel.

Count on Me Window Card CCS Crushed Curry Stampin Up 2021 by Kate Morgan, Australia

I stamped the bear image onto Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper using the Stamparatus with Soft Suede ink, then clean the stamp with your Simply Shammy. Then I inked the stamp with the Versamark ink, sprinkled Clear Emboss Powder over it, shake off the excess and heat set it with my Heat Tool. Now it is easier to watercolour without the ink bleeding. I used the Water Painters to colour my bear with Soft Suede ink and the heart with Real Red ink. Once dry, I used Paper Snips to fussy cut it out.

I die cut the words from the Love You More Than dies in Melon Mambo card and the Playful Alphabet dies for the individual letters ‘honey’.

The Scallop circle on the front was die cut using two of the Layering Circle dies, the scallop one being the bigger size to the circle cut previously. They actually sit perfectly inside one another to die cut the Crushed Curry scallop circle in one pass through the die cutting machine. This is added with Multipurpose Glue. Lastly, I added my bear with dimensionals.

CCBH Crumb Cake – Delicate Dahlias and Feels Like Home

CCS Logo 2021-22

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 13 – Crumb Cake

I have chosen a soft colour palette for tonight’s card using the Delicate Dahlias stamp set. This is one of the free items in Sale•a•bration brochure with any $180+ order. This stamp set has the outline for the flower and also a full image stamp to colour inside the lines. I found using the Stamparatus was much easier to line the stamps up!

Delicate Dahlias Photopolymer stamp set (156601)

Colour Combination - Crumb Cake

My card base is Blushing Bride, embossed with the Ornate Floral 3D Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. First I stamped the outline of the dahlia flower onto a post-it note and cut it out with Paper Snips, on the inner edge of the stamping. Then I took an A5 piece of Basic White cardstock and stamped one of the dahlia flowers then placed the post-it note over the top and stamped the second flower and the third flower using the same process.

Delicate Dahlias Sympathy Card SAB Stampin Up 2021 by Kate Morgan, Australia

I stamped the outline of the flowers in Crumb Cake and the centres are Blushing Bride, So Saffron and Soft Sea Foam. The sentiment is stamped in Crumb Cake ink on Crumb Cake card and cut out with Everyday Label Punch. The sentiment is smaller than the punch, so I placed it back in the punch and took more off each end. I used a sponge dauber to softly add ink around the edges.

The wood frame is the In Good Taste DSP and die cut using two of the Stitched Rectangle Dies. I used the smaller Stitched Rectangle Die again to cut out the stamped flowers to insert into the frame. The frame and the sentiment are all added to the card base on dimensionals.

Card 2 is for Father’s Day! Have you made your cards yet?!!! Father’s Day is not far away, as in Australia, we celebrate it on 5th September. As I need to mail my cards (possibly both this year if we are still in lockdown), I needed to get them in the mail this week. So for my card tody, I am creating a fancy fold with the Feels Like Home stamp set.

and the next to reveal the message inside with some In Good Taste DSP on the side panels. These sentiments are from the Hats Off stamp set.

Here is a close up of the image on the card front, stamped with Versamark Ink with White Emboss Powder, then heat set with the Heat Tool. I was thinking of colouring it, but I loved the crispness of the white against the Crumb Cake, so I left it. The sentiment is from the Free as a Bird stamp set.

Basic measurements:
Crumb Cake Card: 10.4cm x 14cm & 9cm x 9cm
Crumb Cake Card: 10.5cm x 28cm, scored at 10.5cm & 21cm
Thick White card: 13.5cm x 10cm & 10cm x 10cm
In Good Taste DSP: 10cm x 10cm & 10cm x 6.5cm (2)

Update: Want to hear a funny story? Actually, it’s not funny at all and I want to cry. We have a 5 month old puppy, Arlo, who loves to chew… well, he got to my card (that was in an envelope) and this is all that’s left of it, along with the chewed up paper/envelope 😢 Back to the drawing board to create another one for my dad, grrr. Lucky I still have a week to get it made and that I had photographed this one already!!!

CCBH Coastal Cabana – All For Baby card with Decorative Mask background

CCS Logo 2021-22

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 12 – Coastal Cabana

Tonight’s card is using the All for Baby Bundle, which is a recent addition to my supplies. I don’t actually have a lot of baby style stamp sets, but this one is rather cute with the distinctive stamps that create the shading/tone when you stamp the image – how clever is that?!!

All For Baby CCS Coastal Cabana Stampin Up 2021 by Kate Morgan, Australia

The Coastal Cabana card base is covered with the Plenty of Patterns Decorative Masks, new in the Annual Catalogue. They are a great way to add patterns with the Blending Brushes and inkpads without using DSP. I also used the same technique on the Basic White card cut with the Stitched So Sweetly die. Although, this time, I left the card in the die and placed the Mask over the top so that it left the gorgeous, crisp, white scallop border. I wrapped around some White 3/8″ (1cm) Glittered Organdy Ribbon and tied it in a bow, before adding the centre panel on dimensionals. The images are stamped in Fresh Fressia and Soft Suede inks, die cut and added on dimensionals. The pegs are die cut from the new Silver Foil 12×12 Specialty Pack and also added on some cut-down dimensionals.

On the inside, I stamped another bodysuit and die cut the little pocket in Coastal Cabana card and added it to the corner with a lovely stamped sentiment.

CCBH Cinnamon Cider – Post It Note Holder, matching Card and Envelope

CCS Logo 2021-22

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 11 – Cinnamon Cider

This week I have more Hand-Penned Petals Bundle projects, starting with a Post It Note Holder! These are great little gifts to have on hand to give to family and friends and Cinnamon Cider happens to be one of the colours in the Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper.

Hand-Penned DSP

Post It Note Holder using Hand-Penned Bundle for Cinnamon Cider CCS by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021

The main image is stamped with Versamark, Gold Emboss Powder added and heat set with a Heat Tool. I coloured it with Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers; Soft Succulent, Pale Papaya & Cinnamon Cider. I also used the Colour Lifter to dot on the Cinnamon Cider bloom to give it a little extra texture. Then I die cut it using the coordinating Penned Flower Dies. Some Genial Gems are added as I always love some gems!

Post It Note Holder using Hand-Penned Bundle for Cinnamon Cider CCS by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021 side

4 pieces of DSP are placed on the front, the back and two on the inside; one under the post it notes and the other you can see below. A strip of Gold Metallic Specialty Paper is added to the front and inside panel.

Post It Note Holder using Hand-Penned Bundle for Cinnamon Cider CCS by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021 open

Basic Instructions
Cardstock – 7″ x 3¼”, score each end at 3¼” & 2 pieces 3¼” x ¾” for reinforcement.
DSP – 3″ x 3″ (4 pieces).
Ribbon – 10″ cut in half for the handles.

Card & Envelope – I started with a Thick White card base of 28cm x 10.5cm and fold in half at 14cm. The patterned paper layer measures 13.5cm x 10cm and is adhered with Multipurpose Glue.

Hand-Penned Bundle card & envelope for Cinnamon Cider CCS by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021

I die cut the two dies at once with Cinnamon Cider cardstock, as the intricate die fits neatly inside the border one. I also used the border die (usually to die cut the stamped image) with the Gold & Rose Gold 6″ x 6″ Metallic Specialty Paper. I placed some Seal+ on the back and wrapped some Soft Succulent Open Weave Ribbon across. Dimensionals were added and adhered to the cardbase. Glue the Cinnamon Cider border die cut onto the Gold die cut.

Next I die cut the inticate die in Basic White card and used my Blends markers to colour the leaves and flowers. Glue this inside the border die cut. I also fussy cut some smaller flowers from another sheet of DSP and glued them to the card. I added some Genial Gems to the centres of the fussy cut flowers and on the DSP card base layer.

To finish, I added a strip of DSP inside the card and the Cinnamon Cider intricate die cut.

Then I needed to make a coordinating envelope using  single piece of 12″ x 6″ DSP. How cool is it to have coordinating items?!!!

Tonight I have a pocket card that you can add some money or a gift card inside along with your Christmas message. If you are like my kids, they want nothing more than this type of gift for every occasion!

The Peaceful Deer Bundle (#156391) is fantastic value at only $62 for the Peaceful Deer photopolymer stamp set (#156891) and the Deer Builder Punch (#156390). It is going to get lots of use for my Christmas projects this year.

The Peaceful Prints DSP is one of the Sale·a·bration items that can be selected free with any $90+ order between 3 Aug – 30 Sept. The best part is that it coordinates with the Peaceful Deer Bundle. In fact, the deer image is punched with the Deer Builder Punch from the patterned paper!

  • Fold the short end up and add a little multipurpose glue on each end and seal to create the pocket

Week 9 – Calypso Coral

Tonight I am using the In Symmetry stamp set, but I don’t have the coordinating designer paper yet, it’s on its way. It doesn’t really matter though, as I have come up with my own colour combination!

Colour Combination - Calypso Coral

I covered my Thick Basic White 5″ x 10″ (folded in half) card base with a piece of the Calypso Coral paper from the Subtles 6″ x6″ DSP pack. Then I cut a layer of Basic Black card to 4¼” x 4¼” and the Thick Basic White layer is 4″ x 4″ to stamp on, using the Stamparatus and the Stamping in the Round (SITR) technique to get the lovely uniform pattern.

In Symmetry card for CCBH Calypso Coral by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021

I stamped the four Calypso Coral flowers again on some scrap card and fussy cut them out to layer on top with dimensionals for extra depth, before adding a Champagne Rhinestone Jewel to each one. On each of the hearts I added some Wink of Stella. Before gluing the Black and White layers together, I swiped the Calypso Coral inkpad around the edges of the white card.

Week 8 – Cajun Craze

Well, here we are at Cajun Craze, my least used colour in the range! I really struggle with this colour and to me it would be great tone for Terracotta pots, but of course I do not have any stamp sets of this kind!

My next idea is chocolate or coffee, I mean who doesn’t love either of these?!!!! The Nothing’s Better Than stamp set and coordinating Love You More Than dies were the go, along with the Stitched So Sweetly dies for the sentiment to be stamped on. I had all these done but nothing in the background. I tried lots of different papers, but nothing seemed to work, then I stumbled across this paper from the In Good Taste papers (on sale this month!) and I think it works beautifully, a bit like a tablecloth.

Week 7 – Bumblebee

I really love the layout of this card, its simplicity, but also the natural wood textured paper (In Good Taste DSP – which is on sale this month)!

Pierced Blooms & Basic Borders Dies card for CCBH Bumblebee by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021

The Thick Basic White card was die cut using the Basic Borders die to create that gorgeous stitched curve. Two pieces of A6 DSP were glued together and placed behind the curve to create the card front. By doubling up the DSP, it not only made it more sturdy, but the inside compliments the front of the card! Just Jade and Magenta Madness are the other two card stocks for the floral images. The sentiment is stamped in Bumblebee on some scrap card and die cut using the die from the Pierced Blooms dies. While the card is still in the die, turn it over and use the stylus from the Simply Scored to run around the inside edge. This gives that gorgeous raised edge around the sentiment!

Pierced Blooms & Basic Borders Dies card for CCBH Bumblebee by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021.

To create the splatters, I placed some Bumblebee ink onto an acrylic block and squeezed my Wink of Stella into it, to make it juicy then tapped it against my fingers to get the splatters, of course with an extra glitter effect.

I made some faux resin dots with a hole punch and some fine tip glue.

Pierced Blooms & Basic Borders Dies card for CCBH Bumblebee by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2021.

On the inside you can see the same DSP as the front. I also added two small different size strips of card for extra colour and some more Stitched Blooms!

Week 6 – Blushing Bride

Card 1 – I finally opened my pack of Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper (on sale this month) and the Gold 6″x6″ Metallic Specialty Paper for this fancy fold card.

Panel Tower Fold Card using Hand-Penned Petals by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021

The image I initially stamped in Memento ink in the Stamparatus. I coloured it with Blends Combo Markers (Daffodil Delight & Mint Macaron), however they don’t come in Blushing Bride, so I used the stamp and Blushing Bride Inkpad to colour the main bloom and filled in the missing area with the Wink of Stella while the ink was still damp. Then I placed it back into the Stamparatus in the same position and inked the stamp with Versamark ink and stamped over the top of the Memento outline. Then I added Heat & Stick Powder and heat set it with the Heat Tool. Next, add some Gilded Flakes and rub around with your finger to remove the excess before die cutting the image. Doesn’t it look gorgeous?!!!

Panel Tower Fold Card using Hand-Penned Petals by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021 close up

The scallop squares are cut using the Stitched So Sweetly dies. These are rectangular, however once you cut one, I then placed the die partially over the rectangle to cut it down to a square!

The back of the card is where you write your message to the recipient!

Here is how it fits into the Very Vanilla C6 envelope for posting!

Panel Tower Fold Card using Hand-Penned Petals by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021 envelope

I cased this idea from Samantha Clayton (Mixed Up Craft), but used different products and I altered my measurements so this card would fit into our Very Vanilla C6 envelope!

Basic Instructions
Misty Moonlight card base: 8¼” x 6”, score (landscape) at 1″, 2″, 3″ from each end.
Rotate 90° with edge of card at 1″ mark – cut from first scoreline to third scoreline only. Lift the blade and cut from the next scoreline down to the last scoreline only. Repeat this on the other side.
Blushing Bride cardstock: 4⅛” x ⅞” (2) and 5⅞” x ⅞” (2)
DSP layers: 4″ x ¾” (2) and 5¾” x ¾” (2)
Basic White cardstock for back: 5¾” x 2¼”
The folds can be worked out from the photo images above.

Card 2 – this card also uses similar products to the previous card, with the addition of this gorgeous Stitched Greenery Die used on the Basic Black layer. The patterned paper is cut using the Stitched So Sweetly dies giving that pretty scallop edge and stitched border. I also used the smaller rectangle die in vellum (behind the flower).

Hand-Penned Bundle for Blushing Bride CCS by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021 side

The banner is actually made of cardstock – I cut  2cm strip and folded it in half lengthwise and glued it, so I had the same design on both sides. Then I folded it in a ‘z’ and cut the ends as banners with my paper snips. The main floral image and the sentiment are stamped with Versamark ink, Heat & Stick Powder added and gently heat set this with the Heat Tool so the powder just melts, then add Gilded Leafing. Using a sponge dauber, gently rub in small circular motions to remove the excess gilding.

Using the Penned Flower dies to cut it out, I coloured the image with Water Painters and ink directly from the Soft Succulent, Blushing Bride & Pale Papaya inkpads.

Hand-Penned Bundle with Gilded Leafing for Blushing Bride CCS by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021

I repeated the process for the main image twice and placed the second one on the inside of the card, after I added some Soft Succulent ink with a Blending Brush.

CCBH Blackberry Bliss – Pansy Petals 60th Birthday

CCS Logo 2021-22

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

A blog hop, also known as blog hopping, is to move from one blog to another, continuing in a full circle to read all the posts by participants in the hop. At the end of each post will be a link to continue to the next blog!

Week 5 – Blackberry Bliss

Today I am using the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper to show how it can be used with the Pansy Dies to cut out the images, rather than stamping the pansies.

My card base is Blackberry Bliss as is the stamped ‘Happy Birthday’ sentiment (Sweet Ice cream stamp set) and fussy cut. Behind this is some Gold Foil embossed with the Stitched Greenery Die and added on the diagonal in the centre of the card. The die cut pansies and leaves are placed over the joins to cover them, some on dimensionals for height. Some In Color Jewels are added and the Playful Alphabet dies were used to cut the ’60’ also in Blackberry Bliss so as not to stand out too much (the recipient wouldn’t like that!). Although I did add some Wink of Stella to them!

The white layer on the inside of the card is also decorated with a strip of card and a gold embossed strip like on the front.
