Berry Burst: Tucked Corner card

Welcome to the Colour Creations Instagram Hop. You can follow us on Instagram starting @craftwithkate. Each week we will showcase the Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 9 – Berry Burst

My card this week is a fun fold Tucked Corner card.

I have used the Velvet Meadow Specialty DSP and the Heirloom Boutique dies. Some sheets of this paper have specialty flocking for a soft, touchable texture, it is so beautiful.

This is such a fun colour palette of Berry Burst, Bubble Bath, Daffodil Delight and Peaceful Pine with touches of gold.

Click on the image below to view my tutorial on YouTube https://youtu.be/D0EMl2GaMXk

This card was inspired by Mixed Up Crafts who created a 5″ x 7″ version.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join us next week for Blackberry Bliss.

Be sure to add the Product of the Month (POM) for $9 when you add $125+ in product to your cart.

Basic Gray: Moody Fern and Flora card

Welcome to the Colour Creations Instagram Hop. You can follow us on Instagram starting @craftwithkate. Each week we will showcase the Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 8 – Basic Gray

My card this week is a standard sized Thick Basic White card base.

I have used the Luxe White Specialty DSP and used blending brushes to add Basic Gray ink in an ombre fashion down the length of the card.

I added some Basic Gray ink directly to an Acrylic Block, then took my Water Painter to add some droplets of water onto the ink and splattered it onto the card for a moody background.

The focal area sits on a Basic White Party Banner die cut which I have added a simple design around the edge with the Black Journalling Pen. This is added on Dimensionals.

The Fern and Flora dies are used to cut various ferns from Basic Gray, Basic White and Basic Black cardstock. These are added to the banner with glue. The sentiment [Greetings For All Mix & Match Ephemera Pack] is added with Dimensionals.

On the inside I used the negative from a fern die cut to use as a mask to add some ink with Blending Brushes. I also did this on the front corner of the envelope.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join us next week for Berry Burst.

Welcome back Crisp Cantaloupe: A little extra wow card with template

Welcome to the Colour Creations Instagram Hop. You can follow us on Instagram starting  @craftwithkate. Each week we will showcase the Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 2 – Crisp Cantaloupe

This week we feature our 2nd new In Color™ which is also a returning In Color™ from 2013-2015 – you may remember it! I sure do as I had just joined Stampin’ Up! in March 2013!

The Lovely and Beautiful Specialty DSP coordinates perfectly with Crisp Cantaloupe. The Petal Pink in this paper is a lighter shade of Crisp Cantaloupe and don’t you think it looks amazing together?!!!

I’ve also used the Beautifully Celebrated dies for the feature on the front with the Simply Beautiful Bundle (stamps & dies) for the sentiment and the floral arrangement. The Crisp Cantaloupe flowers have some ink blending on them before gluing the layers together. It is placed on with a Mini Dimensional and some Peaceful Pine leaves glued underneath. The sentiment is stamped in Versamark ink, Gold WOW Emboss Powder added and melted with my Heat Tool. This was fussy cut and added on Dimensionals.

I love how that gorgeous, patterned paper with the gold foiling, flows across the card. The reverse side of this paper is the Petal Pink which is in the centre of the feature and inside panels.  Some 2026-2028 In Color™ Dots are added to finish the card front.

Open the card and you have more beautiful patterned paper and room to write your message to the recipient. In the bottom corner (and on the envelope), I stamped the large flower and added a light bit of blending left over on the blending brush.

Here is my template

to decorate the front and inside panels

SDSP 1: 7cm x 14cm (front) & 3cm x 14cm (inside)
SDSP 2: 7cm x 14cm (2) inside left and centre
Basic White: 6cm x 13cm

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join us again when we embark on the new 2026-2028 In Color™, Golden Glow.

Be sure to add the Product of the Month (POM) for $9 when you add $125+ in product to your cart.

Pumpkin Pie: Flowers Fair

Welcome to the Colour Creations Instahop. You can follow us on Instagram starting  @craftwithkate. Each week we will showcase the Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 44 – Pumpkin Pie

These handmade cards features the new Flowers Fair stamp set (a large background stamp) was the first to catch my eye in the new release products for March. I see so many possibilities for ways to colour these gorgeous flowers.

My first card is stamped in Black Memento ink onto white card and coloured with Watercolor Pencils, then I used a Blender Pen to blend the colour to make it more vibrant.

The second card I stamped in Versamark ink onto Basic Black card, added White Emboss Powder and melted it with the Heat Tool. Using the Craft White ink refill, I added a few drops onto a Clear Acrylic Block and using a brush, filled in all the images.

The White outlines were coloured using Blends Combo Markers and once dry, the images are filled with Wink of Stella (it’s hard to see the sparkle in the photo).

Both image layers are mounted onto a layer of Pumpin Pie cardstock then onto the card base. The sentiments are from the Greetings For All Mix & Match Ephemera Pack and some retired ribbons. To finish off, I added a few of the little gold Dragonflies I had in my stash!

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next week for Real Red inspiration.

Be sure to add the Product of the Month (POM) for $9 when you add $125+ in product to your cart.

Pool Party: Thinking of You

Welcome to the Colour Creations Instahop. You can follow us on Instagram starting  @craftwithkate. Each week we will showcase the Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 40 – Pool Party

This handmade card features products from the Lovely & Beautiful Suite Collection.

It’s funny how you start out with an idea in your head, but the card morphs itself into something totally different. I began this card by diecutting the Gold Foil pieces [Beautifully Celebrated dies] that are around the circle [Stylish Shapes dies] feature, these are actually meant to be like ‘photo corner’ pieces. I was hoping they would create a different frame – I was happy with how it came together!

The Pool Party circle is dry embossed with the Exposed Brick 3D EF. The images are Gold heat embossed on Basic White card and coloured using Blends Combo Markers, then diecut with the coordinating dies.

The sentiment is Gold WOW heat embossed and fussy cut. Some Gold Mesh Ribbon was cut lengthwise and added towards to the bottom of the circle, then the layering of the other elements began. The flowers and leaves, I used my fingers to bend the sides to give them more lift.

On a Pretty Peacock cardbase, I’ve layered some of the Designer Series Paper [Square Snippets DSP] onto some Pool Party cardstock. Before addding the feature piece, I stamped a splatter to the corners in Pretty Peacock ink, it’s hard to see, but subtle.

I stamped and coloured another flower and leaves to add to the inside corner and on the envelope!

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next week for Poppy Parade inspiration.

Petal Pink: Watercoloured bloom

Welcome to the Colour Creations Instahop. You can follow us on Instagram starting  @craftwithkate. Each week we will showcase the Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 38 – Petal Pink

This handmade card features a Thick Basic White card base then a layer of Secret Sea Two-tone cardstock dry embossed with the Beautiful Patterns Embossing Folder.and gently sanded with a sanding block in a diagonal direction.

The white diecut piece [Beautifully Celebrated dies] is adhered. The flower is stamped in Versamark on Petal Pink card, Gold WOW Emboss Powder added and melted with the Heat Tool. The leaves is the same process but on Soft Sea Foam card. These have been coloured with Watercolor Pencils; Real Red, Calypso Coral and White and the leaves with Granny Apple Green and Garden Green pencils. The Water Painters help to softly blend the colours.

Here’s a close up of the flower colouring.

The flower is added on Dimensionals and the leaves tucked under with Tombo Multipurpose Glue. The sentiment [Greetings for You Mix & Match Ephemera] has some Petal Pink ink blended over it applied with a Blending Brush. The cover paper on the back is removed and it is adhered to the card. ‘From our home to yours‘ is such a great sentiment that could be used for any occasion eg sympathy, birthday, Mother’s Day.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next week for Petunia Pop inspiration.

Misty Moonlight: Peaceful Garden Sympathy card

Welcome to the Colour Creations Instahop. You can follow us on Instagram starting  @craftwithkate. Each week we will showcase the Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 32 – Misty Moonlight

This handmade card features the Peaceful Garden Designer Series Paper (DSP) and some soon to be released in January, Beautifully Celebrated dies.

This card is cased from Kathy Ellerbusch Alt, who showed how to create one in a recent ‘live’ on Facebook using the newly released Product of the Month (POM) True Blue Florals DSP. More details below.

Measurements

Misty Moonlight card base: 21cm x 14.8cm, scored @ 10.5cm
Cloud Cover: 14.3cm x 10cm
Designer Series Paper: 14cm x 6cm  (centre), 14cm x 4.5cm (2, one each side), 14cm x 2cm (inside)
Basic White: 14.3cm x 10cm (inside)

How you can re-create this card

  1. Score and fold the card base.
  2. Adhere the insert inside with the strip of DSP on the right hand side.
  3. Adhere the Cloud Cover layer to the card base.
  4. Adhere the 14cm x 6cm DSP to the centre of the card.
  5. Take the 14cm x 4.5cm DSP and add adhesive to one side only. The left piece has adhesive only on the left and the opposite on the other side.
  6. Fold back the inside corners of the DSP. Starting with the top left, start the crease from the edge of the DSP underneath (centre piece). Once you have this one done, you can repeat on the others to mimic the first one.
  7. Die cut the two labels and the glitter leaves. The centre label I added the smaller label on top and ran through my embossing machine with the Silicone Craft Sheet to get the embossing.
  8. Stamp the sentiment.
  9. Using a blending brush, add ink to the edges of each label.
  10. Adhere the labels together then add Dimensionals on the back and adhere it the centre of the card. I also placed a mini dimensional under each of the DSP corner folds to hold them in place.
  11. Add the embellishments.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next Wednesday for Mossy Meadow inspiration.
