Week 21 – Darling Duckling

My card this week is an easy design that I am using as a template for some cards I’m creating for a wonderful cause, Share the Dignity. They source sanitary and toiletry products to pack into bags for Women in homeless shelters, Domestic Violence shelters, Mum and Bub bags for new mums in need, food banks, community organisations that help with rent and other financial needs so that Mum can give their children a Christmas present but nothing for herself. Each bag is packed with so much love they are bursting at the seam with all the essentials but also with a beautiful handwritten note and that is where I come in!

I have made 14 cards so far – I wonder how many more I can make by the end of October?!!

My colour combo is Darling Duckling and Timid Tiger with some Gold Foil.

I have used some retired products; Square Snippets DSP, heart punches and the Gold Shimmer Pen. The sentiment is from the Wild Bunch stamp set. I have no idea what embossing folder I used with the Gold Foil as it was obviously leftover from a previous project and I put it back in my packet! The Large Rhinestones were perfect for using up too!

Heart of Christmas – Week 3 – Flip Waterfall Card

Whispering Woods Flip Waterfall Card

My card this week features the Whispering Woods Designer Series Paper (DSP) in another fun waterfall style card.

On the front I’ve kept it simple. The patterned paper really does all the hard work for us. I added a couple of Copper Foil deer from the Graceful Evergreen Deer Hot Foil Dies and some Iridescent Rhinestones.

As you open the card and the panels flip open, I have more of the patterned paper and a Gold heat embossed sentiment from the Christmas Mice stamp set.

The next flipped panel just has some more of the patterned papers.

The next two flips have a white panel on the left and more patterened paper on the right with some more deer.

The final panel with the pull tab has more paper. The pull tab was created with a circle punch cut in half and adhered to the panel behind the patterned paper.

Daffodil Delight: Sunset Coast Anniversary card

Week 20 – Daffodil Delight

Daffodil Delight is perfect colour for the sun, so that was my starting point this week. As I’m loving the Scenic Coast Specialty DSP and the Sunset Coast Bundle, these were perfect for my card this week.

When we were in Hawaii many years ago, I loved being down at the beach at sunset and this card mimics one of my photos and brought back wonderful memories.

I die cut the largest die from the Scalloped Christmas Cheer dies from Basic White card. I cut down a piece of the Specialty DSP to fit in the centre. The sun die is cut from Daffodil Delight card and then trimmed down. This was glued to the card and then the extra tops of the rays were trimmed further to the edge of the card.

The boat is die cut in Gorgeous Grape card and the birds were die cut from the left over pieces of the DSP (reverse side). I stamped the sentiment at the bottom in Gorgeous Grape ink. I adhered this onto a Thick Basic white card base, that was cut down to 9.5cm x 26cm, scored at 13cm so it didn’t show behind the scalloped card front.

I didn’t want to throw out the centre die cut pieces from the sun rays, so I adhered these inside the card. Over the weekend, I had my Hot Foiling System (HFS) out and did quite a few of the sentiments from various sets to ‘have on hand’. And not to waste the leftover Foil, I used the Reverse Hot Foil Die to add them onto Smooth Foiling Specialty Paper and then cut them out with the coordinating die – two for one!!!!

The Classic Greetings Hot Foil dies was perfect for my sun.

Heart of Christmas – Week 2 Twinkling Tidings

Twinkling Tidings Card

My card this week features the new Hot Foiling System (HFS) with the Gold Foil and the Twinkling Tidings Bundle (Stamp Set and Hot Foil Dies).

On a Thick Basic White card base, I’ve covered it with a piece of the Neutral Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP).

The Hot Foil Dies are placed onto the HFS with some Gold Foil and Peaceful Pine Two-Tone card stock. I stamped the basket in Pecan Pie ink. Then I used the arch die in the set to cut it out. I placed Dimensionals on the back and adhered it to the card base.

The sentiment [Christmas Mice] was stamped in Versamark ink, Gold WOW Emboss Powder added and melted with my Heat Tool. This was also added on Mini Dimensionals. Some Festive Pearls finish the card front.

On the inside and on the envelope, I stamped the tree and Gold heat embossed the star and the string of lights.

Crushed Curry: Mosaic Garden Thank You Card

Week 19 – Crushed Curry

My card this week features the Mosaic Garden DSP with the Hot Foiling System and Gold Foil with the Classic Greetings Hot Foil dies and the Flourish and Frames Hot Foil dies. The All Aflutter Bundle (stamps and coordinating Punch) also feature and go perfectly with these gorgeous, patterned papers.

A Crushed Curry card base with a layer of the DSP in the Hydrangea Hue pattern (looks like cardstock really), then the DSP. But before I adhered the DSP, I placed it onto my Cut and
Emboss Machine with the larger frame die and smaller die in the centre of it, and ran it through. This created the cut out section and the smaller frame piece to be added later.

On some Hydrangea Hue Two-Tone cardstock, I foiled the gold frame in my Hot Foiling System, then die cut it out and adhered in to the centre, so it fit snuggly into the hollow space. Now I could adhere the smaller DSP Frame. The sentiment was foiled the same way and die cut using the coordinating die. I also die cut it again in Crushed Curry card and layered it below for the extra shadow.

The butterflies are stamped in Crushed Curry ink onto Basic White card, punched out and glued to the card. The one on the front, I added a Mini Dimensional behind each wing, so it sits up. Some Wink of Stella to colour it and add some glimmer at the same time!

On the inside I added the extra frame leftover from the front and adhered it onto a white die cut the same size so I can write my message. Plus, some extra butterflies, seeing as you get three in the one Punch.

Heart of Christmas – Week 1

Christmas Mice Waterfall Card

My card this week is another Waterfall card using the Christmas Mice Bundle and the A Little Christmas Designer Series Paper (DSP).

The feature on the front consists of a Peaceful Pine cardstock cut with the Everyday Arches dies. The white window and all the other pieces are from the Christmas Mice stamp set and coordinating dies. I stamped the mouse in Crumb Cake ink onto Crumb Cake card. The hat, candy cane and bow are stamped in Black Memento ink onto Basic White card and coloured using Cherry Cobbler Blends Combo Markers. The white section of the hat has Wink of Stella for some glitter. I placed the mouse behind the window frame and trimmed the body that was overhanging so it appears to be inside! I added Mini Dimensionals to the back and smaller pieces of Dimensionals cut with scissors to the window frame then added it to the arch.

As you open the card, a cascading waterfall of decorated panels is a wonderful surprise!

On the first opening I have added panels of DSP and a Peaceful Pine strip across the centre with the sentiment stamped in the same colour ink. The next panel to fold down, has DSP below and some Shimmering Stripes Specialty Paper for real sparkle! Another mouse is stamped in the same way as the previous one, and the gift is coloured with Cherry Cobbler and Peaceful Pine Blends Combo Markers. The sentiment is done the same way as the previous panel. On the final panel to fold down, I added a simple Basic White panel to write my message to the recipient!

Week 18 – Crumb Cake

My card this week is a Waterfall card using the Everyday Essentials Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the new Hot Foiling System that arrived last week!!!! I used the Silver and Pink Foil for this card.

I foiled the Butterfly Flight Hot Foil dies onto Barely Blush Two-tone card and the Silver Foil onto Crumb Cake card using the Flourish and Frames Hot Foil dies. The Classic Greetings Hot Foil dies I did with Pink Foil onto the new Smooth Foiling Specialty paper which is white.

Coastal Cabana: Sunset Coast Lighthouse

Week 17 – Coastal Cabana

I’ve been very time poor with family matters this week, so my card is a very simple one. The Lighthouse is from the Sunset Coast Dies are featured in a fun sunset!

My card base is Coastal Cabana with a Basic White piece dry embossed with the Soft Waves 3D Embossing folder.

The circles are various sizes of circle punches, cut in half and layered on top of each other to one side to create a cool sunset coast effect.

The cardstock colours for the semi circles are (Largest to Smallest): Timid Tiger, Crushed Curry, Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lolly & Very Vanilla on the top and below are Misty Moonlight, Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon, Coastal Caba & Pool Party.

Secret Sea is the fussy cut piece of land, and the lighthouse die cut is Basic White cardstock coloured with Blends Combo Markers: Secret Sea & Poppy Parade. I also splattered some Coastal Cabana ink with a few drops of water and my Water Painter.

There are no sentiments added, as I’m not sure the occasion yet, so that will come later. I think it would make a great masculine card though!

Cloud Cover: Masculine Pillar Fun Fold Card with Rolling Waves & Scenic Coast

Week 16 – Cloud Cover

My card this week is a pillar card using the Rolling Waves dies and the Scenic Coast Specialty DSP that is perfect for a masculine birthday.

A Cloud Cover card base with Night of Navy matt layers behind the Scenic Coast SDSP. I’ve also used Basic Beige card for the sand, Basic White and Cloud Cover to die cut the waves. I added some shells to the sand and the inside of the card and some small gold birds to the sky.

I didn’t want to just have the message panel on the back visible, so I created a tab on one side and adhered this to the back of the card to hide my mesage (computer printed). Some more die cut shells added in the corner.

Measurements
Card base: 25cm x 14.5cm
Cloud Cover: 7cm x 10.5cm (front), 7cm x 1.5cm (sentiment), 14.5cm x 12.5cm (back) plus extra for die cutting
Night of Navy: 13.9cm x 10.1cm, 13.9cm x 4.1cm, 6.6cm x 10.1cm
DSP: 13.5cm x 9.7cm, 13.5cm x 3.9cm, 9.7cm x 6.4cm
Basic White: 10.6cm x 14.1cm (message) plus extra for die cutting
Crumb Cake: 6.4cm x 5cm

Score the card base by scoring @ 4.5cm, 7cm, 11.5cm, 14cm.
Before adhering the left column, I adhered the Night of Navy matt cardstock pieces in place.
Die cut the waves from Cloud Cover card and the ‘foam’ die from Basic White card a couple of times and adhere together.
Add a piece of Crumb Cake card to the bottom of the 9.7cm x 6.4cm piece of DSP. To work out the size, hold the waves across the DSP and see where to cut it on an angle so it is hidden behind the waves.
Use Crumb Cake ink to stamp some of the texture for the sand.
Adhere the wave die cuts across the bottom of each piece of DSP and cut off the excess with scissors. Use these on the DSP for the column.
Adhere each of the DSPs to the matt card.
Adhere the largest panel to the inside of the card base,
Fold the scored column into a cube and add glue to the end piece to adhere against the centre scoreline.
Push the column flat to the right and hold for the panel to set.
While the column is flat, add glue to the reverse side of the feature panel (remember only along the side that will adhere to the column). Centre it between the top and bottom of the card and ensure it doesn’t go past the card base while pushed flat!
Stamp your sentiment and adhere on the column below the main feature.
Take the Cloud Cover 14.5cm x 12.5cm and score the short side @ 11cm.
Add glue to the tab and adhere to the back along the spine of the card.
Add the Basic White sentiment panel (I printed mine from my computer).
Add some die cut shells and gold bird embellishments.

Cherry Cobbler: Two fun fold Christmas cards from one sheet of cardstock

Week 15 – Cherry Cobbler

My cards this week are fun fold cards that I cased from Fiona Carson (NZ demonstrator). As a demonstrator benefit, we can preorder product a month before it becomes available to purchase, and with the upcoming September-December catalogue imminent, I have made my Cherry Cobbler cards with Christmas in mind!

The Christmas Mice Bundle is so cute and features on my first card. The designer paper is A Little Christmas DSP and the sentiment is a new set, Soiree Saulations.

and with the leftover cardstock you can create this second card with no wastage. Both of these cards, use one sheet of A4 cardstock!

The Joyous Friends stamp set has some adorable aussie animals and here is one of the stamps featuring the koala in a gumtree wreath.
