Gorgeous Grape: Spinning Flower card

Week 26 – Gorgeous Grape

My card this week has a spinning flower with the Gorgeous Grape background, embossed with the Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder.

The Subtles Painted Patterns Designer Series Paper (DSP) is used as the matt layer for the Sunflower 3D embossed background, as well as all the elements of the flower. The stem is a strip of the DSP and the leaves were created using the Ladybug Builder Punch.

Each flower petal is created with the 1¾” Circle Punch. Cut eight times (four each of two different patterns). The centre is a ½” Circle Punch with a Flower Accent embellishment in the centre. The flower sits on a small spinner mechanism (purchased on Amazon) so it can spin like those pinwheels you get from Fairs when you were a kid!

Here’s a quick demonstration how to create each petal with the 1¾” Circle Punch. I guess it’s a form of origami.

Heart of Christmas – Floating X Card

Floating X Card

My fun fold card this week is a Floating X card. The card base is a fun fold with the extra ‘X’ pieces attached at the front and back appearing to be floating. I’ve used the All Wrapped Up Specialty DSP in the background and the Timeless Christmas DSP on the ‘X’. The feature in the centre is a diecut label using the Flourish & Frames Hot Foil Dies with a stamped Peaceful Pine tree [Twinkling Tidings Bundle] and the deer are created using the Hot Foiling System with the Graceful Evergreen Deer Hot Foil Dies and Silver Foil. The sentiment is stamped in Versamark ink onto Basic White card, Gold WOW Emboss Powder added and melted with my Heat Tool. This sentiment is from the Soiree Salutations stamp set.

here’s a closer look at the centre feature elements with those Silver Foil deer and the inside of the card to write your message.

Garden Green: Joyful Friends Double Slider Card

Week 25 – Garden Green

My card this week is a double slider card featuring the Joyful Friends stamp set and the Whispering Woods Designer Series Paper (DSP).

The images are stamped in Pecan Pie ink and coloured with Blends Combo Markers and some Wink of Stella and the sentiments are stamped in Garden Green ink.

You can see on the right side of the card that there is a semi circle notifying the recipient to pull. As you slide the panel another smaller one appears from behind the front panel of the card.

The best part is that this entire mechanism is fully hidden within the front cover of the card and behind this DSP panel when the card is open. This leaves plenty of room for your message to your recipient!!

Heart of Christmas – Christmas Mice Pop Up Card

Christmas Mice Pop Up Card

My card this week has a fun surprise scene inside, but first, lets check out the front of the house before we go inside!

The house is Crumb Cake cardstock with ink blending around the edges. The door frame was die cut from a piece of white card that I had in my stash, with the timber stamped in Crumb Cake ink, and I thought it was perfect for the door!

I added some blending over it also. The frame was coloured with Pecan Pie Blends Combo Markers. The top window glow is ink blended with Darling Duckling ink. I stamped the Christmas lights in Early Espresso ink and coloured them with Blends Combo Markers. The door handle is cut from Gold Shimmer card I had sitting on my desk.

I cut the roof from the A Little Christmas Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the trees from Peaceful Pine Two-Tone cardstock. The card base is also Two-Tone cardstock. Once the card was complete, I added some Wink of Stella to the trees and Fine Tip Glue to the Christmas lights.

Open the card to find this little mouse inside her house with the fire roaring behind her, while she decorates the christmas tree. Below is a Basic White panel for the message to the recipient.

Here’s a closer look to see how it works with little boxes to create the mechanisms. The ones for the tree and box of baubles are shorter than the other two, to add some extra depth to the scene. The background is part of the Designer Series Paper pack and perfect for my card.

Fresh Freesia: Graceful Evergreen Deer HFS

Week 24 – Fresh Freesia

My card this week is a Christmas card to start building up my stash, and how good does Fresh Freesia, Silver and White look as a combination?!!

The Graceful Evergreen Deer Bundle has the stamp set and the Hof Foil Dies. On the Fresh Fressia card base, I stamped the little stars/snowflakes in Fresh Freesia ink around the edges of the top two thirds of the card. The front panel I ink blended the edges before stamping the trees in Versmark ink, add White WOW Emboss Powder and melted it with my Heat Tool.

I stamped the gound below the trees in Fresh Freesia ink. On an Acrylic Block, I added some Fresh Freesia ink, a drop of water and splattered it across the card. I repeated this process with some White Craft Ink and set it aside to dry before layering it onto Basic White card.

Using the Hot Foiling System (HFS), I silver foiled the deer onto Fresh Freesia card and die cut them to add on Dimensionals to my card. The sentiment from the Christmas Mice stamp set is Silver Heat Embossed and fussy cut.

Heart of Christmas – Week 6 Joyful Friends Reverse Stamping

Joyful Friends Reverse Stamping Technique

If anyone knows me, they know my love of the wombat and this Christmas card makes me so happy. I’ve done some reverse stamping for a fun slimline card with the Joyful Friends stamp set.

My card base is covered with a layer of Neutral Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP). The wombats are stamped on Basic White card then mounted to a narrow layer of Gold Foil, then a layer of Mossy Meadow card. The sentiment is Pink Foil using the Hot Foiling System and the Sweetly Sentimental Hot Foil Dies.

To do reverse stamping you will need a Stamp Positioner and a Silicone Sheet. Stamp your image onto the silicone sheet twice, then place your cardstock on top and close your positioner and press firmly to transfer the ink to the cardstock.

They are coloured using Blends Combo Markers and each of the lights have some Fine Tip Glue to make them glossy. Do this step last and set it aside to dry.

Flirty Flamingo: Extraordinary Flora Sympathy card

Week 23 – Flirty Flamingo

My card this week is a Sympathy card. We all need these on hand for such occasions and my stash was dwindling away. Time to top it up again.

I’ve used the Extraordinary Flora Washi Tape and coordinating Extraordinary Flora die.

I started with a piece of the Heart of the Home DSP and added a matt layer of Flirty Flamingo cardstock behind it. This was put into the Softly Woven 3D Embossing Folder and run throught the Cut & Emboss Machine then adhered to a Basic White top folding card base.

I adhered the Washi tape to Basic White card and die cut the images – best part is, there is one die to cut out a whole heap in one run through your die cutting machine – WIN!

I began layering them down in a wreath shape starting with some leaves to get the shape going then went back over with adding the floral pieces on Mini Dimensionals and tucking some buds and smaller leaves under to fill out the wreath.

Using the Hot Foiling System, I foiled a Pink sentiment using the Sweetly Sentimental Hot Foiling Dies onto White card. I added this in the centre on Mini Dimensionals and added a twine bow on a Glue Dot.

Heart of Christmas – Week 5

Joyful Friends Christmas

My card this week feature the Joyful Friends stamp set and some Timeless Christmas DSP.

A 15cm x 15cm card front with two layers of Designer Series Paper and a Basic White die cut stitched square using the Stylish Shapes dies. The image is stamped in Black Memento ink and coloured using various Blends Combo Markers. The sentiments are from the Christmas Mice stamp set. The one on the front is stamped in Versamark onto Peaceful Pine card, Gold WOW Emboss Powder added and melted with my Heat Tool.

On the inside, is another piece of the DSP which was perfect for my square card. The sentiment stamped in Peaceful Pine ink!

Easy Peasy Christmas Card

Week 22 – Early Espresso

My card this week is a very simple design where the Yuletide Carols DSP does all the work for you!

A Very Vanilla card base with a layer of Early Espresso card behind the DSP. A simple die cut banner [Nested Essentials dies] is adhered with some Linen Thread wrapped around and three gold gems added across the top. The Mini Alphabet die creates the letters for the sentiment which has Wink of Stella added once I glued the letters to the card.

Heart of Christmas – Week 4

Neutral Christmas cards

My cards this week have a very neutral colour palette with the Country Woods DSP and the Yuletide Carols DSP. The Detailed Wreaths Accents are also used on both cards.

Card 1 – is a 15cm x 15cm card front with a layer of Early Espresso card, then some Country Woods DSP. The wreath is glued to the centre and the JOY die cut [Party Alphabet dies] and added on Dimensionals. A Linen Thread bow and some gold jewels are dappled around.

Card 2 – uses the negative of when I die cut the JOY for the first card. I didn’t want to just thow it away when I can create another card!

This time I turned it into a shaker card. I added some Window Sheet to the back of the DSP. Some Foam Adhesive Strips were added around the edges and around the ‘joy’.
