Brightly Gleaming Ornaments meet a Product Medley!

How are coping with the silly season? I am finding it super busy and so tonight I have a very quick and easy card for you!

I love how we can mix and match so many of our products and they still work – the Most Wonderful Time Product Medley meets Brightly Gleaming Ornaments!

This card is super simple, but I love how these ornaments shine above the background. The Real Red ribbons I have used are retired product, but how good do they look? The 1/8″ ribbon that the ornaments are hanging from is added with a glue dot behind each ornament and folded over the top of the white/gold star layer before gluing it to the card. The thicker red ribbon is wrapped around the card and tied in a bow.

The ornament punches are used with the Designer paper and again with a little gold foil for the top of each one. Then they are added with dimensionals for some height.

This card was made in about 5 minutes, but looks a million dollars!!! 😉

Art with Heart Blog Hop: Boxes and Gift Bags

AWHT Blog Hop - Gift Boxes and Bags.jpg

The Art With Heart Team are back with another inspirational Blog Hop. This month we are featuring Gift Bags and Boxes, just in time for the Christmas gift giving season. The bags and boxes featured are all made using current Stampin’ Up! products and any of our wonderful team members are happy to help you with the supplies you will need to reproduce these beautiful projects.

If you’re already hopping, then you just came to me from the talented, Tina Gillespie. If you’re just joining, great! Use the “next” button at the end of my post to hop all the way around. Blog Hops are full circles, so you can start hopping here and then at the end of each post there is a link to the next one. There is also a list of participants at the end in case of any broken links.

Now let’s get started!

On Saturday 16 November I attended OnStage in Sydney, an event for demonstrators only,  and I created this box for my dear friend Cathy, who picked me up from the airport and allowed me to stay with her and her family on the north shore for 2 nights. We have become wonderful friends through our love of Stampin’ Up! over the last few years and I knew her love for Haigh’s Chocolates, so I wanted to get some for her as a thank you!

IMG_0337.jpg

I knew it had to be fairly large to fit a couple of packs of chocolates inside, so I started with the base of the box. I placed it on the Simply Scored and placed one pack of the chocolates in the centre to see where the scorelines needed the be. I used a piece of the Noble Peacock Specialty Designer Series Paper, 12″ x 11¼” and scored each side at 3¾”. Cut as shown below and add Tear N Tape.

Haighs Gift Box measurements.jpg

The lid is a piece of Silver Foil, 6¾” x 7½” and scored on all 4 sides at 1½”. I love the Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon and it coordinated perfectly with the blues of this project and I know Cathy loves these colours too!

My next project is a Twist N Close Box, inspired by Sam Hammond, UK. I love how this closes up, it is so clever. I’ve used the Daisy Lane Bundle (pg.23 of Annual Catalogue) to decorate it with the Woven Threads DSP.

Here’s what it looks like open and closed from the top view. I plan on sharing these in my 2020 classes.

Peachy tones for Christmas time

Tonight I am sharing the Christmastime is Here Suite, only available while stocks last, so make sure you add it to your cart now if you are thinking of purchasing it. My card tonight is not so Chrismassy though and I wanted to show you that it can be used for other occasions!

This Christmas Rose stamp set (#153944) and coordinating Roses dies (#152431) are available as a bundle saving 10% (#153947) or individually.

I deliberately haven’t added a sentiment to this card, as I was experimenting with different colours. I used to love the Just Joey roses at my mums house as they were this very soft peachy pink colour. I have used Petal Pink for mine.

Christmastime is Here, Stampin Up Holiday catalogue 2019 by Kate Morgan, Australia..jpg

Can you see all the glitter on the roses? It’s a little hard to see in the photo, but when I was adding the Wink of Stella to the purple berries and the pine cones, my Wink of Stella got flowing a bit too quickly and I ended up with glitter on my fingers. So I just rubbed my fingers over the rose petals! I love the soft effect it adds.

OnStage 2019 in Sydney

Wow, what a wonderful time I had last weekend in Sydney for OnStage, the Annual event for demonstrators!

I flew up on Friday, leaving cold Melbourne (16 degrees) and arriving in Sydney to 30+ degrees. Thankfully I was picked up by a wonderful team member, Cathy and she drove me back to her home north of Manly. She and her hubby needed to head out for a short time, so I was more than comfortable sitting with her gorgeous dog, Superman, on the back deck over looking the pool with a lovely sea breeze.

OnStage2019 Sydney

Saturday we were up and gone by 7am to head into Darling Harbour to the ICC. The event began and here is our view of the stage with 600+ other demo friends.

OnStage2019 Sydney November

Early on in the morning, we received our new Mini catalogue and Sale-a-bration brochure to ogle over. It sure is an amazing catalogue and our first comments were, after picked our jaws up off the floor, “we are in trouble!”.

During the day, after some of the product demonstrations, we get to create 4 x Make N Takes. Here are a couple of them. The first one uses the Peaceful Poppies Suite, absolutely gorgeous 💗

This one is the Parisian Blossoms Suite, I adore the Champagne Rhinestones!

Our backpack we received when arriving for Registration, with lots of goodies inside, including a Stamp Set, pens, notebook and more!

Another part of attending these events is, we are able to place a Product Purchase Premiere order. A select group of products can be purchased within 3 days of the event for those who attended. Mine arrived late yesterday!!!! Here’s a sneak peek of what I ordered!

I hope you enjoyed seeing some of what being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator can bring. Attending these events is definitely a highlight for me, catching up with so many like-minded people and making life long friends. If you have ever thought about joining, do it, you won’t be disappointed xx

Birthday, Blog Hop, Christmas, Designer Series Paper, feminine, Flowers, Handmade Cards, Holiday Catalogue, Stampin' Up!

Christmas product for a rosey birthday

Heart of Christmas Blog Hop 2019

Even thought this is a Christmas suite of products, it doesn’t have to necessarily be used for Christmas cards. I am sharing a card tonight that I have made for a family member who loves flowers, especially roses and as soon as I saw this paper I knew it had to be used for her birthday card. This card is super simple and for the Beginner Stamper in mind, as it is mainly using the gorgeous Designer Paper as the focus.

Birthday card using Christmastime is Here Suite, Stampin Up Holiday catalogue 2019 by Kate Morgan Australia..jpg

Using another of the Ornate Frames Dies adds a gorgeous filigree pattern for the sentiment to be stamped in metallic ink.  Wrapping some Gold ribbon around the centre over the paper joins and adding a bow in the same ribbon.

The inside of the card has some more of the same Designer Paper glued to a strip of Cherry Cobbler card and glued to some Whisper White card.

Birthday Goodness for a masculine birthday celebration

Tonight I am saying Hi from Sydney!

Yes, I flew here this morning in time for the Stampin’ Up! OnStage Local event tomorrow for demonstrators. I am so excited because my dear friend, Catherine, picked me up from the airport and has invited me to stay with her and her family for two nights 🥰 We are going to have SO MUCH FUN!!!

I’ll share more information about OnStage early next week when I get home, but for now I share the card I made for my husband’s birthday on Wednesday. Let me start by saying I adore this sweet stamp set, Birthday Goodness, however it was best to make a card rather than bake the images for him, although I know he would have loved a stack of donuts!

Masculine Birthday card using Stampin Up Birthday Goodness & Stampin Blends Markers by Kate Morgan, Australia 2019.jpg

Look at the gorgeous shimmery glimmer of the icing. This is the Shimmery Crystal Effects added last for that gloriously inviting glaze!!!

The cake stand was coloured using the Wink of Stella and the Delicata Celestial Copper Ink Refill. I did this by dropping 1 small drop of ink refill onto a clear block and by swirling the Wink of Stella through it, I was able to get a lovely soft coppery shine to apply to the stand. Initially I was going to colour the entire stand, but I think just using it as a feature trim and leaving the main part white, gives it more class!, don’t you think?!

Masculine Birthday card using Stampin Up Birthday Goodness & Stampin Blends Markers by Kate Morgan, Australia 2019.

The inside is also stamped and coloured in the same colours as the front.
