Granny Apple Green: Fern and Flora Fun Fold Card

Welcome to the Colour Creations Instagram Hop. You can follow us on Instagram starting @craftwithkate. Each week we will showcase the Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 27 – Granny Apple Green

My fun fold card with belly band features the Fern and Flora 3D Embossing Folder. I made this card for my sister who has lots of indoor plants inside her home and it inspired me to use these products.

I added ink to the inside of the embossing folder, then placed a piece of Basic White 4¼” x 5½” cardstock on top of the ink, closed the folder and ran it through my Cut and Emboss Machine. I repeated this process a second time to have two pieces. One of the pieces I cut down to 3″ x 4¼” to fit inside the second largest Perennial Postage die cut and the other creates the centre of the card base.

To create the arched pieces, I started with two pieces of Basic White card 4¼” x 3¼”, scored at ½”. Then took a 7¾” diameter side plate from my kitchen and placed it on top so the edge started at the scoreline down to the bottom left corner and with a pencil, trace the circle (see template below). Using scissors I cut along this line and then used this one as the template to trace the circle on the second piece of card.

The tab edges had glue added and this was adhered to the back of the embossed card base at the top and bottom and folded to the front.

The belly band 9⅜” x 2″, scored at 2½” x 6⅞” is wrapped around the card to hold it closed. The front feature is adhered to the centre of the belly band. I added some left over embossed pieces 1″ x 1⅞” pieces eith side of the belly band to enhance it. The sentiments are Gold Foiled onto Secret Sea card using the Hot Foiling System.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join us next week for Gray Granite.
