Week 2 – Crisp Cantaloupe

This week we feature our 2nd new In Color™ which is also a returning In Color™ from 2013-2015 – you may remember it! I sure do as I had just joined Stampin’ Up! in March 2013!

The Lovely and Beautiful Specialty DSP coordinates perfectly with Crisp Cantaloupe. The Petal Pink in this paper is a lighter shade of Crisp Cantaloupe and don’t you think it looks amazing together?!!!

I’ve also used the Beautifully Celebrated dies for the feature on the front with the Simply Beautiful Bundle (stamps & dies) for the sentiment and the floral arrangement. The Crisp Cantaloupe flowers have some ink blending on them before gluing the layers together. It is placed on with a Mini Dimensional and some Peaceful Pine leaves glued underneath. The sentiment is stamped in Versamark ink, Gold WOW Emboss Powder added and melted with my Heat Tool. This was fussy cut and added on Dimensionals.

I love how that gorgeous, patterned paper with the gold foiling, flows across the card. The reverse side of this paper is the Petal Pink which is in the centre of the feature and inside panels. Some 2026-2028 In Color™ Dots are added to finish the card front.

Open the card and you have more beautiful patterned paper and room to write your message to the recipient. In the bottom corner (and on the envelope), I stamped the large flower and added a light bit of blending left over on the blending brush.

Welcome Barely Blush: Heirloom Boutique with card sketch template

Welcome to the first Colour Creations Instagram Hop for 2026/27. We will start at the beginning of the alphabet again shortly but before that, we will introduce the new 2026-2028 In Color™ family!

Week 1 – Barely Blush

This week we feature our 1st new In Color™ Barely Blush and what a beautiful soft pink it is and it may just be my favourite of the new colours. I know this is going to be a popular colour in my craft room!

I have used my card sketch #12 for this layout. This is a fun one to display some pretty papers around a feature image.

On a Thick White card base is a layer of Barely Blush cardstock. The Bloom Boutique Specialty DSP with specialty gold foiling, features around the edges with piece of Barely Blush Sunset Vellum Specialty paper in the centre. The feature image [Heirloom Boutique] is stamped onto Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper in the new Basic Black Hybrid ink. This ink can be used for both Alcohol Markers and Water colouring! I have used the Water Painters with Barely Blush, Golden Glow & Peaceful Pine inks.

The stamped image is die cut with the coordinating Heirloom Boutique dies and added it on Dimensionals. Some Wink of Stella was added for more shine! Not sure if you can see that in the photo. Some 2026-2028 In Color™ Dots embellishments finish my project. On the envelope and inside the card, I’ve stamped one of the larger flowers in Barely Blush ink.

Summer Splash: Surprise Pop Up Card

Week 50 – Summer Splash

This handmade card features the Florals in Bloom Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the Florals in Bloom stamp set. These items are in the last chance section at greatly reduced prices and are a bargain!

A Thick Basic White card base with a layer of DSP and another piece across the centre. The sentiment [Greenery Lane] is stamped in Versamark ink onto Summer Splash card, White WOW Emboss Powder added, tap off the excess and melted with the Heat Tool. The flower stems are die cut in Summer Splash and the flowers are stamped in Pretty in Pink ink, die cut and glued in place.

When you open the card, you get the beautiful surprise pop up of flowers in a variety of In Colors™! This sentiment [Sweet Blooms] fits perfectly on the front panel.

and an even closer look to see where the flowers are attached with that front panel added on Dimensionals with the flowers glue behind it.

Soft Sea Foam: Explosion Pop Up Card

Week 49 – Soft Sea Foam

This handmade card features the Lovely & Beautiful Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the coordinating Beautifully Adorned Ephemera Pack. This card would be perfect for any special occasion whether it be a milestone birthday, Mother’s Day or Wedding card.

Here’s a closer look at that beautiful flower and leaves coloured with Blends Combo Markers. The sentiment is stamped in Soft Sea Foam ink onto the same colour cardstock and die cut with the Stylish Shapes dies.

But the surprise is when you open the card. This pop up mechanism is a real wow feature also decorated with the same DSP and Ephemera Pack.

but wait there is more – a couple of extension panels for your hidden messages!

Smoky Slate: Triple Arm Pop Up Card

Week 48 – Smoky Slate

This handmade card features the Artisan Sketched Garden 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP), from the upcoming May-August Mini Catalogue starting 5th May. With it’s Black and White illustrated style of florals, stripes, dots, and more, these patterns create a timeless base for your projects. It was the perfect starting point for Smoky Slate this week.

A Smoky Slate card base with another layer dry embossed with the Damask Designs folder. I roughed up the edges with my scissors to add extra texture. The Everyday Arches dies were cut in Smoky Slate and one size smaller in Basic White. This one I used my Water Painters to add different sized watercolour stripes across it, creating my own backdrop. The vases with flowers are fussy cut from one of the DSP sheets. The two that I left ucoloured were from the edges of the DSP and fit perfectly on my design. The one in the centre is added on Dimensionals and coloured with Blends Combo Markers; Daffodil Delight, Pool Party & Soft Sea Foam, for a soft pop of colour. The sentiment is from the Banner Sayings Bundle (stamp set and coordinating Three Banner Punch) to cut it out.

On the inside are three pop up panels (insired by Susan Campfield) with Stylish Shapes die cuts and another vase of flowers coloured the same way as on the front. The other two are Basic White with the same watercoloured stripes across them. On hhe right is a 1″ strip of Smoky Slate dry embossed with the same folder as on the front.

On the left is a white panel to write your message. I must have got some ink on my finger because it left a smudge mark but no fear, I added another banner with ‘happy birthday’ to cover it up! Do you make these silly mistakes when you finally have the card finished?!!!!

On the envelope I stamped the sentiment multiple times, staggering them as I went down the side.

Shaded Spruce: Greenery Lane

Week 46 – Shaded Spruce

This handmade card features the Greenery Lane Bundle, Lovely & Beautiful Specialty DSP & the Perennial Lavender DSP. On a Shaded Spruce card base, I first cut the piece of Perennial Lavender DSP, then a strip of the Specialty paper for the top section, but before adhering it I added a small piece of torn Shaded Spruce card to the bottom edge then adhered it to the larger piece. I added the Faux Ribbon and wrapped around some Linen Thread and tied it in a bow, before adhering this layer to the card base.

For the leaves, I added drops of ink refill onto an acrylic block and spritzed it with some water and used this to stamp the leaves. Pamela Blackwell, one of the Stampin’ Up! Artisans shared this technique recently. Once dry, I stamped over them with the outine stamp in Shaded Spruce ink. The flowers are stamped in Fresh Freesia and have Rhinestone Jewels in the centre that I coloured with the Fresh Freesia Blends Marker. Some larger leaves behind were diecut from Champagne Foil. I haven’t added a sentiment as yet. When I know who will receive this card, I’ll add an appropriate sentiment at that time.

On the inside another leaf with a couple of flowers added to the corner. This same treatment is also on the front corner of the envelope!

Pretty in Pink: Simply Beautiful Accordion Double Gatefold card

Week 42 – Pretty in Pink

This Accordion Double Gatefold card features the Lovely & Beautiful Specialty DSP, the Simply Beautiful Bundle and the Banner Sayings Bundle.

This piece of Specialty DSP has gorgeous gold foiling and big bold flowers, so it was the perfect background choice. The main feature are die cut flowers and leaves in white card and gently coloured using Blending Brushes and inks. The flower centres are cut in Gold Foil.

Here is the card open. On the narrow centre pieces I have added DSP to the left and right sides. In the centre is white card stamped with Happy birthday and the panels either side are stamped with one of the flower images in Pretty in Pink ink. The sentiment [Banner Sayings] is stamped in Versamark ink, White WOW Emboss Powder added and melted with the Heat Tool. It was then cut out with the Three Banner Punch.

Poppy Parade: Lovely & Beautiful Mosaic Card

Week 43 – Poppy Parade

This handmade card features the Lovely & Beautiful Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) with not a stamp, die or inkpad to be seen!

This is a very simple card if you love a bit of colouring, but of course, you could just use a pretty piece of paper if you wish. The cutting is random but with that mosaic look for something a little different. By minimising the use of Poppy Parade elsewhere, makes the red flowers pop the most!

How you can re-create this card

Using Blends Combo Markers, colour a piece of the white & gold foiled DSP, 9.5cm x 10cm. I coloured the background using the Light Pool Party Blend to match the card base. This helps the brighter colours pop.
Score a piece of Pool Party card stock in half and burnish. 21cm x 14.9cm, scored @ 10.5cm.
Place the DSP into your trimmer and cut it into random pieces. I started with slanted horizontal ones then went back and cut them inin two vertically on angles. Try to keep them in order as you go, as it will be easier to put it all back together like a jigsaw puzzle.
Adhere the pieces to your card base leaving a small gap between each one.
Cut a narrow strip of Poppy Parade card and adhere it across the card and trim the edges.
Add the sentiment [Greetings For You Mix & Match Ephemera] and some embellishments [12 Days of Christmas Advent Calendar] to finish.

Pop Out Angled Accordion card

When you want a card to do more than just open, you want something spectacular, you create fun fold card featuring the Cute as a Bug DSP.

The front of the card has a white matt layer behind some DSP. A layer of vellum with a diecut square from the DSP. The bug and ants are fussy cut from the DSP and added on Mini Dimensionals.

But here is the WOW when you open the card – a tag [Everyday Arches dies] sits in behind the right side of the feature and this is where you can write your message to the recipient. On the concertina section at the front, each of these bugs have been fussy cut from the paper too.

This floating feature sits up on some mechanisms that you can see below. On the left of this you can see the little pocket that the tag sits in!

Some Dear Dots and Ladybug Garden Epoxy Shapes were added to finish.

This design was created during the Online Stamping Retreat, demonstrated by Lisa Curcio & daughter, Gina. Interactive folds like this are such a fun way to elevate your card making. They don’t require lots of extra supplies, just a clever layout and a willingness to learn.

Birthday Flower Box card

Fresh Freesia is a soft but pretty tone and I’ve added some of the Mixed Up Patterns DSP on the right side in the background. A very narrow strip of Gold Foil adds a lovely shiny touch, with some Gold White Ribbon wrapped around and tied in a bow.

The Textured Notes dies perfectly frame the feature and these are heavily reduced in the online store if you don’t already own them, they are a must!!!

The Crumb Cake box has 4 of the posies placed behind to resemble a flower box.

The Valentine Kisses Bundle can be made into cute ‘out of the box’ cards like this!
