Latte Love Fancy Fold card

Today I feature most of the products in the A Little Latte Suite Collection. It includes the Latte Love Bundle, A Little Latte Designer Series Paper, Adhesive-backed Swirl Dots and the Natural Polka Dot Trim (which I am not using today).

I love this fancy fold design and it works well with the elements in this suite.

The background coffee stamped image was stamped off once and the sentiment stamped in Pecan Pie ink over the top.

The mug is coloured using Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers. I used some Prismacolor pencils to add a little extra highlighting.

Week 45 – Shaded Spruce

Today’s card started off a little shaky to be honest. I find this green a little tricky to create with, but I knew I wanted to use this pretty vellum with the leaf pattern. The Shaded Spruce card base was folded in half then I cut the Scallop edge on the front. I took another piece of card and die cut the edge again a little further in so it created the double scallop edge and adhered it to the card front.

I took a Blending Brush and applied Shaded Spruce ink to the reverse side of the Vellum. I needed to have some white card behind it but it can be tricky when it comes to gluing to the card, without the glue showing through. I managed to do it by adding glue to the right side and placing a thin strip of Gold Foil over the top. I then glued it onto the card front butting it up too the edge of the Scallop Contours die. The left side of the vellum doesn’t have any glue behind it, so I notched the top and bottom with my 1/8″ circle punch (this helps hold the ribbon/twine in place) and wound some gold Simply Elegant Trim around and tied in a bow. A glue dot was placed under the bow to hold it in place.

The Something Fancy dies were used to cut the Regency Park DSP and frame behind the sentiment. I stamped the sentiment (Charming Sentiments) onto Night of Navy card in Versamark Ink, added Gold Emboss Powder and melted it with my Heat Tool. It was die cut using the coordinating dies (Sentiment Silhouettes) and popped up on Mini Dimensionals.

On the inside I placed a strip of the Regency Park Designer Series Paper down the right side and placed a smaller piece of white card with some gold foil.

I find this all really dark and it did not exactly please me, so I went about creating a softer and more subtle, feminine card.

I made a card a couple of weeks ago with a similar effect, but this week I have cut the card to create more of a picket fence look. I am using a couple of the In Colours that are due to retire at the end of May; Fresh Freesia & Polished Pink.

Framed Florets on a picket fence by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2023

The Framed Florets Bundle was used to stamp many flowers in Versamark ink, White Emboss Powder added and melted with the Heat Tool. I water coloured them with Shaded Spruce, Polished Pink and Fresh Freesia inks. I watered down some Shaded Spruce ink and added it to some Thick Basic White paper. Once dry, I die cut some leaves. Some Open Weave Polished Pink Ribbon and White Crinkled Ribbon was cut in half and added between the layers of flowers. The sentiment is embossed in white onto Fresh Freesia card. Some Iridescent Basic Pearls were added for that extra feminine touch!

On the inside, another water coloured flower is attached and some splatters of Wink of Stella with Shaded Spruce ink.

Week 28 – Melon Mambo

The excitement is really growing now, as I am heading to Sydney on Friday to see all my SU friends at our OnStage event for demonstrators. This is the first time for 3 years (thanks Covid) that we will be able to be there in person, yippee. There’s nothing like getting together in a huge room with 500 fellow crafters – can you imagine the hype?!!!

Anyway, more about that next week, but for now we need to focus our minds on Melon Mambo.

The Sending Smiles Bundle is a beauty. The flowers are stamped with the aid of the Stamparatus, in Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Rich Razzleberry inks. The leaves are Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen. Using a Sponge Dauber to add the Rich Razzleberry ink to the edges of the flowers as the final step, gives it a lovely tone. The same was done with the leaves and the Evening Evergreen ink.

The white stamped layer is die cut using the Deckled Rectangle dies. This is adhered to a Gold Brushed Metallic Stitched Rectangle die and this glued onto a Melon Mambo layer on the dramatic, Basic Black card base.

The ‘thanks’ is die cut in Basic Black card and Gold Brushed Metallic cardstock. Before die cutting the Gold, I remembered to add Adhesive Sheet so it can be adhered like a sticker to the black layer. This is glued to the card. Some Glossy Dots Assortment were added at the end.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you can join me next week for inspiration using Merry Merlot.

CCS Logo 2021-22

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 32 – Old Olive

Tonight’s card features the Flowering Tulips Bundle [Flowering Tulips stamp set & Tulips dies].

My card base is Old Olive with a layer of Harvest Meadow DSP (oops it’s retired), but you could use any patterned paper. The next layer is some of the new Vellum Layering Designs but I didn’t glue this down until I had the tulips etc adhered on top of it, so I knew where to add my adhesive so it doesn’t show through.

The tulips are die cut with the Simply Marbleous DSP (free item during Saleabration with qualifying order), and the leaves with Old Olive card.

The sentiment is stamped in Old Olive ink onto Basic White card and die cut using the Give It a Whirl dies, and popped up on dimensionals.

Again, I have added my favourite Brushed Brass Butterflies, as they are the perfect embellishment, especially for a garden scene!

Flowering Tulips thank you card for Old Olive CCBH by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Auatralia 2022.

I also made a second card using the Count on Me stamp set and the Inspiring Canopy dies to create this pretty scene. The Thick Basic White card base is coloured using Blending Brushes with Old Olive at the base. I die cut the clouds using the Basic Borders dies and used it to create the clouds at the top with Pool Party ink.

The trees were initially die cut in Thick Basic White card, so I had to colour the trunks with the Crumb Cake Blends Combo Pack. The leaves were die cut in Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive and adhered with glue and black dimensionals. The Sun is coloured with Daffodil Delight ink and a Blending Brush before die cutting and adhering with glue.

The koalas are stamped and fussy cut with Paper Snips and coloured using the Watercolour Pencils and Blender Pens. The fox is stamped and coloured using Blender Pens with Cajun Craze ink (a colour I hardly ever used, but is perfect for my fox!).

Did you have a win on the Melbourne Cup yesterday? I don’t follow the horse racing but I am thankful for the day off work and yesterday’s weather was glorious!

Week 23 – Just Jade

This card is created using the product suite, Bloom Where You’re Planted. The Basic Border dies were used to cut either end of the Gray Granite card to create a panel. I used the Plenty of Patterns Decorative Masks and a Blending Brush to create the pattern with the same colour ink.

Plentiful Plants Bundle by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021

The hanging basket is die cut from the Silver Foil and the bow is from the Flowers For Every Season Ribobn Combo Pack. The foliage is stamped in Just Jade and Soft Succulent. The front plant has Wink of Stella on it, but it doesn’t show very well in the photo. The pot in the hanging basket is stamped in Gray Granite.

Hand-Penned DSP

Inlay Technique Fancy Fold card using Hand-Penned Bundle for Daffodil Delight CCS by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021

The Penned Flower dies which are part of this bundle, were used to die cut the floral images. The Gold Foil one is adhered behind the front panel and the Basic Black background adhered to the front of the panel. I die cut the intricate die in Basic White card, as well as Blushing Bride,Daffodil Delight & Gold Foil. I removed the inside pieces and placed them inside the white die cut for the inlay technique. I used my Blends Markers (Highland Heather, Mint Macaron), to colour the leaves and smaller flowers.

The Word Wishes dies are are used to cut the sentiment on the card front. I cut it multiple times, 4 times in Basic Black card and once in Gold Foil and glued them all together.

Stamp the floral image on the white panel with Daffodil Delight ink and the sentiment in Memento Black ink. You can place the white panel on the back or the inside of the card. I chose to glue it to the back to cover up where my panel joined the card base. The flowers have Wink of Stella on them for a gorgeous shine!

Sweet Symmetry Criss Cross Card

Today’s project uses In Symmetry stamp set and the coordinating Sweet Symmetry Designer Series Paper.  This is called a Criss Cross card, a fancy fold design that is fun and quite easy to put together.

Sweet Symmetry card by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021

Take a piece of the Sweet Symmetry DSP and cut it in half (beware of your pattern). Place in your Trimmer and score at 3-3/4″ and 8-1/4″. Work out which side of the paper you want on the inside or outside and fold as desired. I wanted the brighter pattern on the outside for this one!

Sweet Symmetry card

Now place some Multipurpose Glue along the bottom sides and up the sides to the cut edge. Fold these over to seal your envelope.

Some Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon is wrapped around and tied in a bow at the front.

The Tasteful Labels dies were used to cut a piece of the DSP for the matt layer behind the sentiment. The Label Me Lovely Punch was used to cut some Basic White card.  I placed the punched piece back in the punch but with the straight sides now at the fancy end, so I got the fancy border all the way around!

Sweet Symmetry card by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021 close up

The Basic White insert measures 4″ x 5-5/8″. All the stamping is done using Bumblebee & Just Jade inks. Some Champagne Rhinestone Jewels were placed on the stamped flower to embellish.
