Splendid Day Congratulations card

It’s AFL Grand Final day today in Melbourne at the ‘G’ and my team (Geelong) is playing for the Premiership, so I will be a nervous wreck this afternoon!

Anyway, I wanted to share this card with you, that has the gorgeous Splendid Day Specialty Designer Series Paper. It has a pearlised look to it with gorgeous white embossed images. The piece I have used is Pool Party, but I feel it has more of a light green tone to it, like Soft Sea Foam.

Splendid Day & Hand Penned Petals card by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Auatralia 2022

On a Thick Basic White card base, I cut a 4″ wide piece of DSP, scored at 1″ from the left. Fold on the scoreline to the front and adhere with Stampin’ Seal.  This gives you instant coordinating layers, as both sides of the paper are printed. Before gluing it to the card front, I placed some Soft Succulent Open Weave Ribbon down the centre of the 1″ strip and adhered the ends on the back with Stampin’ Seal. Take another piece and tie a bow. Now this DSP can be adhered to the card front.

Splendid Day & Hand Penned Petals card by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Auatralia 2022 close up

I cut a stitched circle from the Stylish Shapes dies with Pool Party card stock. I placed some Adhesive Sheet to the back of some white card then used the floral image from the Penned Flower dies and ran it through my die cutting machine. The Adhesive Sheet acts like a sticker and is perfect for these more intricate dies and you don’t have glue oozing out. Remove the backing paper and place it onto the circle. Place dimensionals behind the circle and adhere to the card. Finally, I stamped the sentiment and cut it down to size with Paper Snips and added Mini dimensionals.  Another strip of the DSP is added to the inside of the card.

CCBH Highland Heather – Sparkly Playful Alphabet

CCS Logo 2021-22

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 22 – Highland Heather

Tonight I am focusing on using the Playful Alphabet dies as my focus. I chose the Hand-Penned Designer Series Papers and the Subtles 6″ x 6″ DSP pack, which is the purple in the background. The Pale Papaya panel lightens the card up a little more with the coordinating colour ribbon.

Playful Alphabet Feminine Handmade card for Highland Heather CCBH by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021

I just adore this piece of floral paper and the Scalloped Rectangle die is perfect for gorgeous feminine cards.

Before die cutting the letters, I placed some adhesive foam sheet on the back of the Highland Heather cardstock before running it through with the dies. This way, you just peel the backing off the foam and adhere each letter to the card (lining them up with a ruler). I really like how they are right justified and it also makesd it easier to get the spacing just right 😉

As you can sort of see in this photo, I added some Wink of Stella for extra sparkle to each of the letters.

On the inside, I added the extra piece of the floral paper (which I did cut the centre out of for the front). Then I added some white card to write my message.

Just look at the texture of the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder on the Thick White card base!

The Encircled in Beauty dies is used with Pool Party card and glued to the card front. The flowers are stamped twice in Blushing Bride ink onto white card using the Stamparatus. These are cut out easily using the dies and added with dimensionals.

The Blending Brushes are a recent addition to the SU store and they are amazing to work with. I created this soft background with So Saffron at the top and Granny Apple Green at the bottom, blending them in the centre.

The poppy is stamped in Memento Black ink and coloured with Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers; Poppy Parade & Granny Apple Green. The sentiment is stamped in Versamark ink, and heat embossed with White Emboss Powder.

Linen Thread is wrapped around three times the patterned paper layer and tied in a bow, before gluing it to a Basic White Thick cardstock base.

Monthly Creative Showcase: Forever and Always

AWHT Creative Showcase

Tonight’s card is using the Forever & Always Bundle and the coordinating Specialty Paper, Love You Always.

With Love card for AWH Monthly Creations Showcase using Stampin Up Forever & Always Bundle by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up! Australia 2021

I love using black as a background, giving such a dramatic effect with the bright images and layers and the white square scalloped frame, really pops. The Subtle 3D Embossing Folder adds a soft touch of texture.

Inking up a sponge dauber with Magenta Madness, I started in the centre of each flower and swiped the dauber to the outer edge of the petals to get that brushed look. Doesn’t it look amazing?!!!

The centres are sponged with Bumblebee ink and the leaves stamped in Just Jade.

The sentiment is stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with White Emboss Powder.

Regrowth after the devastating fires

Wow, it’s April already and what a year it has been! We started the year here in Australia with those terrible bushfires raging across our country and now the coronavirus has taken over the world 😦  Thank goodness it is school holidays now and we can isolate in safety at home, meaning plenty of time to craft! Who doesn’t love a good reason for that?!!!

We need to go on and stay positive, so tonight’s card is bright and cheery and has lots of poppy flowers reminding me of the regrowth happening following the devastating fires!

Peaceful Poppies Suite Stampin Up Mini 2020 by Kate Morgan, Australia.

The Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper is amazing and you don’t need to do too much to your cards to make the most of the gorgeous designs. Adding a few embellishments from the Peaceful Poppies Elements pack made creating this card so quick to make. I love the vellum element behind the pre-printed one and that black circle really makes the poppies pop!

On the inside I added some white card with some extra triangles of DSP left over from a previous project.

Peachy tones for Christmas time

Tonight I am sharing the Christmastime is Here Suite, only available while stocks last, so make sure you add it to your cart now if you are thinking of purchasing it. My card tonight is not so Chrismassy though and I wanted to show you that it can be used for other occasions!

This Christmas Rose stamp set (#153944) and coordinating Roses dies (#152431) are available as a bundle saving 10% (#153947) or individually.

I deliberately haven’t added a sentiment to this card, as I was experimenting with different colours. I used to love the Just Joey roses at my mums house as they were this very soft peachy pink colour. I have used Petal Pink for mine.

Christmastime is Here, Stampin Up Holiday catalogue 2019 by Kate Morgan, Australia..jpg

Can you see all the glitter on the roses? It’s a little hard to see in the photo, but when I was adding the Wink of Stella to the purple berries and the pine cones, my Wink of Stella got flowing a bit too quickly and I ended up with glitter on my fingers. So I just rubbed my fingers over the rose petals! I love the soft effect it adds.

Colour Creations: Powder Pink & watercolour in Tea Together

9bdc0-34343751_10157403755198098_7101250458500464640_o

Our Colour Creations weekly Blog Hop features our 40th colour; Powder Pink. This is one of the In Colours that will retire in June, so make sure you purchase anything Powder Pink now while they are still available!

I have had this stamp set, Tea Together with the coordinating Tea Time Framelits dies for a little while now but this is my first time inking it up. Why did I wait so long???!!!

My colour palette: Powder Pink, Soft Sea Foam & Fresh Fig

The images were all stamped with Versamark ink on Watercolour Paper, Gold Emboss Powder added and Heat set. Then I coloured using the AquaPainter and ink from the stamp pads. I did all this and let them dry before die cutting each of the images out.

Mother's Day Card using Stampin Up Tea Together, Watercolouring by Kate Morgan, Australia..jpg

I embossed the Fresh Fig layer with the Tin Tile Embossing folder before using the Versamark pad around each of the edges, just swiping gently across the pad then dipping each edge in the Gold Emboss Powder & heat set. I also did this on the Powder Pink layer inside the card!

I sprinkled some extra gold emboss powder gently over the embossed Fresh Fig card and heat set it from behind so the powder didn’t blow away and stayed where I needed it.

I gold embossed the doily as well and placed some Gold Metallic Thread behind the tea pot, which is adhered with dimensionals.

I love the watercolour effect of this rose, super pretty.

On the inside I stamped the sentiment and Gold embossed it also. Do you think I have enough Gold??!!!

Butterflies, Designer/Patterned/Specialty Papers (DSP), feminine, Handmade Cards, Jan-Jun Mini Catalogue and Sale-a-bration, Stampin' Up!

Hello Beautiful, Butterfly Gala

Hi, if you follow my blog, you will be seeing loads of butterflies as this is one of my favourite suites in the Occasions catalogue. I also love how so many products coordinate with the Gingham Gala DSP, Gingham Gala adhesive backed Sequins, Organdy Ribbon Pack and the Botanical Butterfly DSP. It really does make card making so easy and takes the stress away and just allows you to create. This is the reason I became a demonstrator almost 6 years ago!

Butterfly Gala & Gingham Gala DSP Stampin Up Occasions Saleabration by Kate Morgan, Australia 2019.

The Stitched Rectangle Framelits dies are not really suited for our Australian card stock sizes, however, I love them and will try anything to make them work for us Aussies! As you can see, I cut a piece of Gingham Gala DSP to the same A5 card size and placed the framelit towards the top and cut it out. I glued this to my card base. I cut a piece of the Botanical Butterfly DSP and then cut it in half and placed it inside the frame. I used some of the Grapefruit Grove Grosgrain Ribbon across the top and added a bow.

I stamped the butterflies, punched them out and added a sentiment to the top section of the card. I also added some sequins and then finished with Wink of Stella on the butterflies, including the ones on the DSP!

Butterfly Gala & Gingham Gala DSP Stampin Up Occasions Saleabration by Kate Morgan, Australia, 2019.

I placed two more butterflies on the inside of the card.

Birthday, Jan-Jun Mini Catalogue and Sale-a-bration, Stampin' Up!

It’s a piece of cake for a 21st!

Today, I am sharing a card that I was asked to make for friend’s friend. The brief was Black, Silver & Gold, 21st birthday of a young lady named Lia. I like to try and use all the info when making these special occasion cards and I think I have met the brief. What do you think?

Piece of Cake in Black Silver Gold, Occasions catalogue 2019 Sneak Peek by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia.JPG

The black card base has a layer of Gold Foil with another black card layer over the top. A silver square layer with another smaller black layer with a 1-3/4″ circle punched out of the centre. The 21 are cut with the retired Little Numbers dies which are still so handy to have! The Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon from the Holiday catalogue was the perfect finishing touch.

Piece of Cake Bundle Occasions catalogue 2019

I have used the new Piece of Cake stamp set and coordinating Cake Builder punch from the upcoming 2019 Occasions catalogue. The cake stand is punched in gold foil and the cake is stamped in Versamark and gold emboss powder added and heat set. I then added some Wink of Stella over the flowers for a bit of sparkle.

On the inside I stamped the sentiment and added LIA using the large letter framelits dies in black card with a wash of Champagne Mist Shimmer paint applied with an AquaPainter.
