Splendid Day Congratulations card

It’s AFL Grand Final day today in Melbourne at the ‘G’ and my team (Geelong) is playing for the Premiership, so I will be a nervous wreck this afternoon!

Anyway, I wanted to share this card with you, that has the gorgeous Splendid Day Specialty Designer Series Paper. It has a pearlised look to it with gorgeous white embossed images. The piece I have used is Pool Party, but I feel it has more of a light green tone to it, like Soft Sea Foam.

On a Thick Basic White card base, I cut a 4″ wide piece of DSP, scored at 1″ from the left. Fold on the scoreline to the front and adhere with Stampin’ Seal.  This gives you instant coordinating layers, as both sides of the paper are printed. Before gluing it to the card front, I placed some Soft Succulent Open Weave Ribbon down the centre of the 1″ strip and adhered the ends on the back with Stampin’ Seal. Take another piece and tie a bow. Now this DSP can be adhered to the card front.

I cut a stitched circle from the Stylish Shapes dies with Pool Party card stock. I placed some Adhesive Sheet to the back of some white card then used the floral image from the Penned Flower dies and ran it through my die cutting machine. The Adhesive Sheet acts like a sticker and is perfect for these more intricate dies and you don’t have glue oozing out. Remove the backing paper and place it onto the circle. Place dimensionals behind the circle and adhere to the card. Finally, I stamped the sentiment and cut it down to size with Paper Snips and added Mini dimensionals.  Another strip of the DSP is added to the inside of the card.

Colour Challenge Blog Hop: Pink!

October-blog-hop-Think Pink.jpg

Tonight the Art with Heart team are sharing creative projects featuring the colour pink. We hope our blog hop inspires you to get creative with the various shades of pink that Stampin’ Up! offer in our collection of 53 different colours available.

If you’re already hopping, then you just came to me from my good friend, Sharon Davern. If you’re just joining, great! Use the “next” button at the end of my post to hop all the way around. Blog Hops are full circles, so you can start hopping here and then at the end of each post there is a link to the next one. There is also a list of participants at the end in case of any broken links.

Now let’s get started!

My first project I am using the Ribbon of Courage stamp set with heat embossing and watercolouring. With October being Breast Cancer awareness month, this was the perfect stamp set to use!

I stamped the image multiple times with Versamark ink, applied White Emboss Powder and heat set it. Then I used the AquaPainter to apply water and some ink starting with Lovely Lipstick at the top and Flirty Flamingo at the bottom until they mixed in the centre. Once these dried, I added a wash of Smoky Slate ink over the entire background.

The sentiment is heat embossed with White Emboss Powder. Look at that gorgeous Lovely Lipstick 1/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon wrapped around 3 times and tied in a bow with a small piece of Gold mini sequin trim!

I adore this sentiment for the inside of the card.

My second project is very much a girly card, using the stamp set, Flourishing Phrases and lots of “Stella”!

Can you see the Wink of Stella on the flower and leaves? It is also around the edges of the sentiment! Oh yes, I really do love my “Stella”!!! I also added some small pearl jewels for an extra feminine touch.

This is all I have done on the inside of this card, as I’m not sure whether it will be used for a wedding card, special big ‘0’ birthday or something else as yet. When I know, I can add the appropriate sentiment.

Congratulations Petal Palette in Copper & Marble

Dear Crafters,

Wow, is it really the last day of February? Where did those 2 months go???

Today I share a Congratulations card using the Petal Palette Bundle & the Marbled background stamp.

Last Wednesday I shared a card using this same technique, you can see it here; however, this one uses darker colours. I’ve used Bermuda Bay instead of Pool Party, for a richer colour. I also used Copper instead of gold!

I love the richness of the copper embossing powder and the leaves die cut in the copper foil add some extra shine to the card. The bird is stamped in Perfect Plum ink on coordinating card and die cut. The same with the sentiment on Bermuda Bay card.

Congratulations with pastel roses

Dear Crafters,

Today I share a pretty colour combination along with the Petal Passion Suite of products.

TAMS Color Builder - Pool Party Whisper White Old Olive Sahara Sand

Petal Palette Suite, Stampin Up Occasions 2018 by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator Australia. Feminine card

I have used the Stampin’ Blends markers to colour the floral images. I love that embossing folder that only embosses part of the card. I think this is really striking.

Petal Palette Suite, Stampin Up, Occasions 2018 by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator Australia. Feminine card

The gold glimmer paper was the perfect accent for that fancy die behind the sentiment and the flowers. The sentiment is stamped in Pool Party ink on the same colour card stock. I also love the leaves die cut in Sahara Sand.

Fabulous Flamingo

Dear Crafters,

Today I have another sneak peek of this cute stamp set, Fabulous Flamingo, which was an all attendee giveaway at OnStage in Sydney last month!

Fabulous Flamingo by Kate Morgan, Independent Stampin Up demonstrator, Australia

I stamped the flamingo in Flirty Flamingo and Berry Blast ink, however I think I need to go a bit lighter in my colours next time. But hey, it still gives some great effect of maybe a flamingo in the evening! lol
