Card 2
The Notes of Nature Bundle is one that really appeals to me, but I’m not a confident crafter when it comes to this style. In saying that, I’m happy with the result. I watched Emma Goddard make a card recently so I have cased her design but used different colours and papers.

Notes of Nature card for Pool Party Colour Creations Blog Hop by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2024

I started with stamping the larger leaf image a few times on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper with Versamark, added Silver Emboss Powder and melted it with my Heat Tool. I also diecut other finer leaves so I could also watercolour them. I used Pool Party & Highland Heather inks with my Water Painters. Some of the finer diecut leaves, I dabbed them on my Versamark inkpad and added Silver Emboss Powder. I think they came out beautifully.

On the Highland Heather card base, is a piece of DSP from the Softly Stippled 12×12 DSP (free with a $90+ product order during Saleabration 2024). This has been brushed with Pool Party ink, then stamped with the dotty stamp and Silver Embossed. I also used a Sponge Dauber and added Highland Heather ink around the edges. The top layer is Pool Party cardstock, brushed with both colours of ink and stamped. I diecut the holes down the left side and roughed up the edges with open Paper Snips.

Now that I have all the layers glued together I added another strip of the DSP across the centre then started gluing the leaves. Some are added on Dimensionals, but mostly glued. The sentiment is fussy cut and added on doubled up dimensionals. A silver Simply Elegant Trim bow is added on a glue dot.

On the inside is a basic white layer, a sponge dauber added ink around the edges and then another of the watercoloured leaves added in the corner.

Garden Green: Let’s Celebrate Garden Walk

2023-2024 AWH Colour Creations header

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 25 – Garden Green

Today’s card is a super easy card, but I find the design pleasing to the eye. The trio of circles with a sentiment and some flower diecuts and a couple of my favourite, Adhesive-backed Glitter Sequins.

On my Thick Basic White card base, 3 different sized circles (Stylish Shapes dies), are cut from the Garden Walk DSP and glued to the card. The sentiment (Light the Sky stamp set)  is stamped with Garden Green ink and die cut using the banner from the same set of dies. This is added on Dimensionals.

The flowers are diecut using the Dainty Delight dies from Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper and coloured using my Water Painters and Poppy Parade & Garden Green inkpads. Once dry, the stems are glued to the card and the petals are added on Mini Dimensionals. The Gold Satin Edged Ribbon is cut in half lengthwise and tied in a bow. This is added to the stems on a Glue Dot.

Introducing Wild Wheat

2023-2024 AWH Colour Creations header

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 5 – Wild Wheat

Today brings us to the fifth new In Color, Wild Wheat. I have to admit, this colour does not exactly excite me, but hey, with any luck it will grow on me!

I started this card today by designing the Patchwork Pieces die with some of the 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper Packs; Lost Lagoon from the Subtles pack, Melon Mambo from the Brights pack and Wild Wheat from the In Colors pack. Because I was using 3 different colours, meant I would be able to create 3 lots of patchwork pieces. I cut some white card to the size of the large die, which I added Stampin’ Seal to the entire piece, so the patchwork pieces would be able to stick to it.

Patchwork Pieces Trifold Card Wild Wheat colour creations blog hop 2023 by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia front

My Wild Wheat card base (27.5cm x 13cm) is folded in 3, scored @ 9.2cm & 18.4cm.
You can see the Lost Lagoon Bordered ribbon is adhered to the front section of the card only, so it can be wrapped around the card to close it.

Patchwork Pieces Trifold Card Wild Wheat colour creations blog hop 2023 by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia

The 3 Patchwork panels are adhered to the front, inside and the back panel. The 3rd panel has the Basic White card cut with the Radiating Stitches dies to write your message. These dies were also used to cut the heart and circle. The ‘happy birthday’ sentiment is the Wanted to Say dies. The sentiment on the front [Dainty Delight] is stamped in Versamark Ink, White Emboss Powder added before heat setting with Heat Tool. It was added to the card with Dimensionals.

I decided to make a second card, but this time reducing the amount of Wild Wheat. I started by taking a Water Painter and some ink and applying it to some Fluid 100 Water Colour Paper. While it was still damp, I took my Boho Blue Blends Marker and flicking it using the lid of the pen, I added some splatters. I repeated this with the Moody Mauve Blends.

Cheerful Daisies Card for Wild Wheat colour creations blog hop 2023 by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia

The Cheerful Daisies Bundle and Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper were my features for this card. I die cut the daisies in Basic White card. The centres are cut from the Water coloured paper as are the leaves. I also used the More Dazzle Specialty Paper to cut some extra leaves for sparkle!

Cheerful Daisies Card for Wild Wheat colour creations blog hop 2023 by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia.

The centre panel in the background, is Wild Wheat and I stamped the leaf image in 2nd generation stamping; meaning I inked the stamp, stamped on some paper before onto the card strip. A piece of the dotty design of the Vellum Basics Specialty pack was cut using the Nested Essentials dies and placed over the centre of the 3 strips. I’m not sure if you can see the 2 lines at the top and 2 at the bottom of the white layer? I added these for some extra interest using my scoring blade in my Trimmer.

Dear Crafters,

Now let’s get started!

My projects tonnight are a sneak peek into the upcoming Holiday catalogue available from 5 September and I’m using the Cauldron Bubble Bundle.

Colouring In Blog Hop with Cauldron Bubble by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia
I have used Gorgeous Grape for the card base and a layer of Call Me Clover. I stamped the stars in Gorgeous Grape ink before adding the spider web, die cut in Basic Black card. The little spider trinkets are also part of this suite and add that extra touch! The cat, broomstick and the witch are stamped in Memento Black ink and coloured in with Stampin’ Blends Markers; Call Me Clover, Highland Heather, Basic Black, Ivory and Bronze. Then these were die cut and added to the card with dimensionals.

For my next card, I have used Basic Black as my card base with a layer of Highland Heather, and a strip of the Toil & Trouble DSP. Under this is a piece of the stunning Black Glitter Organza ribbon! It is so sparkly and pretty. I have used the Watercolour Pencils to colour in these images and blended the colour with a Blender Pen.

Colouring In Blog Hop with Stampin Up Cauldron Bubble Bundle by Kate Morgan, Australia 2018
Can you see how sparkly the caudron is and the spider web?!!! Well, to create these, I used the new Champagne Glimmer Paint and an AquaPainter to cover a piece of Basic Black card. Once it is dry, you can die cut the cauldron. I stamped the cauldron again in Granny Apple Green and Real Red, coloured them with Watercolour pencils, before fussy cutting the flames and the bubbles and gluing them to the cauldron. The stars are also created in a similar way, with Champagne Glimmer Paint of Black and Gold Shimmer Paint on whisper white card.

I also coloured the hat and used the Granny Apple Green watercolour pencil to create the band across the hat, gluing it on with Tombo Multipurpose glue. Make sure you purchase your Watercolour Pencils Assortment 2 pack now, as they won’t be available after 31st August. They really are awesome for anyone who loves to colour!

Watercolour Orchids

Hello Friends,

Today I share another card using the amazing, Climbing Orchid Bundle on page 21 of the Annual Catalogue, and by purchasing the stamp set and framelits together, you save an extra 10%.

This card, I did something a bit backwards…. I die cut all the pieces first before colouring or stamping! Yes, I know it sounds a little weird but you will see why in a minute.

Watercolour Orchids.jpg

Watercolour Climbing Orchid card by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Demonstrator, Australia

I love the softness of the watercolouring of these flowers. I used an Aquapainter to apply ink to each of the petals allowing each colour to dry before adding the next.  The stem is die cut using the branch from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits!

The centre is a little dark so I added some Wink of Stella to glimmer it up!

I wasn’t sure about adding a sentiment to the front of the card, but I think “hello” can be used for so many occasions, I went with that!

What do you think of this watercolour look? Will you give it a try???

Awesomely Artistic with a bee!

Dear Crafters,

Today, I am mixing up a couple of stamp sets; Dragonfly Dreams, Awesomely Artistic along with the Window Box thinlits dies.

The white card is sponged along the edges with Crushed Curry ink to soften them.

Next I stamped the flower image with Smoky Slate ink and used my AquaPainter with inks to colour the flowers and leaves.

A small strip of glimmer paper was then added. The vellum is die cut with the Window Box Framelits die and attached to a circle of crushed curry cut with the 2″ circle punch. I embossed it with the Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I also added some gold metallic thread behind the circle before adhering to the vellum with Fast Fuse to hold it all in place firmly. The little bee was added last!

Farewell, Holiday Catalogue, Watercolour

The Journey Begins

Dear Crafters,

Well, we come to the end of another year. Personally I am glad it is over, even though it went so fast, but it was not one of my best years with a broken ankle and many deaths in the family. Here’s hoping that 2016 will be much brighter and happier xxx

I love new products and today is no exception. As a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, we have early access to brand new products from the Occasions catalogue and Sale-a-bration brochure which go live on 5th January 2016! Here is a project using the Beautiful Ride stamp set.

Beautiful Ride VW Bug #stampinup

I thought this was a perfect card as our Journey Begins leading into a brand new year of 2016!

I stamped the images onto watercolour paper with Memento black ink and used the Aqua Painter brush and inkpads to colour.

Colours I’ve used are: Marina Mist, Mossy Meadow, Crushed Curry, Smoky Slate and Tangelo Twist.

How cute is the little puppy looking out the window?!!!

Beautiful Ride VW Bug #stampinup

Many years ago, the Volkswagon Beetle was my first ever car and when I saw this stamp set in the catalogue, I knew I just had to have it!

I would like to end by wishing everyone a very happy, healthy and crafty 2016!

Colouring with Blender Pens

Dear Crafters,

Today I share a pretty card created with the stamp set, You’ve Got This.

You've Got This #stampinup Blender pen flower

I stamped the image on watercolour paper with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with clear powder.

I coloured the image using the Blender pens with Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz ink pads. I started by colouring all the petals and then going back over the bottom part of each petal and making it darker! Isn’t it pretty?!!!

You've Got This #stampinup Blender pen flower

I layered the watercolour paper onto a piece of vellum, then Blushing Bride card stock then onto the base card of Pear Pizzazz. I added the sentiment in Smoky Slate ink and 2 candy dots.

Don’t you just love how this coordinates with the envelope by stamping the flower image again?!
