Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.
Week 11 – Basic Gray
Basic Gray is a bit like the weather in Melbourne lately; cold, wet and overcast, so I have paired it up with the very pretty, Lemon Lolly.
I used the Patchwork Pieces die and cut it out in Lemon Lolly card and again in a piece of the Basic Gray 2023-24 Neutrals Designer Series Paper. Because of this, I was able to create 2 cards!
I wanted to add an extra feature, so I fussy cut some images from the Zoo Crew DSP. By adding a Basic Gray circle, it helped the image to really pop. Isn’t this little racoon with a handful of balloons so cute?!!
On the next card, I had this cute little ballerina image but I wanted to have her dancing across the card. This is a stepped up version with small magnets behind the die cut circle and the popped up layer.
Adding a strip of Lemon Lolly card to use as a pull tab, you can watch her dance across the card. The arrow impression is from the Give it a Whirl dies, as are the stitched hearts.
On the inside of both these cards, I added the happy birthday sentiment from the Wanted to Say dies, a strip of Basic Gray card and another little stitched heart.
Here they are side by side.
I really love these two colours together. What do you think of this colour combination? Let me know in the comments below.
