Masculine 60th Birthday card

Today I’ve created this special milestone birthday card for a work colleague who is celebrating his 60th birthday this weekend!

This Pop Out Slider card I initially saw on Susan Campfield’s FB page and she mentioned that another demonstrator in the Netherlands, Annette Elias, also made one, but used Metric measurements. Both links are listed towards the end of this post.

On the inside, I have the panel on the left for writing your message & the fancy mechanism on the right with the pop up 60 on the Something Fancy dies!

Floating Panel Birthday card

Today I’ve created this floating panel card, which is similar to the Bay Window design in the way it folds to stand up to display.

The Dainty Delight Bundle and the coordinating Dainty Flowers DSP (Level 1 SAB 2023 free item). I have used Rich Razzleberry as my card base and Fresh Freesia as the lighter tone. The sentiment is from the Art Gallery stamp set. The focal image is stamped in Black Memento ink and coloured using Blends Combo Markers; Rich Razzleberry, Soft Succulent & Fresh Freesia.

Dainty Delight & Dainty Flowers DSP Feminine fancy fold card by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia SAB 2023

The strip on the inside on the right is popped up on dimensionals, so the front panel sits against it to display. It is dry embossed with the Cane Weave embossing folder. This works beautifully with the wildflowers images on these pretty papers.

The front square feature is mounted onto two hinges to give the effect it is floating. Some Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels finish it off.

On the inside, I added a Basic White panel to write my message with a stamped image coloured with Blends Combo Markers at the bottom.

I got this design from Jackie Bolhuis of Klompen Stampers. I changed up my measurements to suit the Metric measurements for the South Pacific, but the initial idea was from Jackie.

Triangle Patchwork Card

2022-23 CCBH Logo

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 6 – Balmy Blue

Tonight we showcase Balmy Blue, and I have teamed it with Night of Navy and the gorgeous Abstract Beauty Specialty DSP.

I love this easy design using the gorgeous Abstract Beauty patterned papers as a patchwork style background. Using 4 rectangles of DSP measuring 6.9cm x 4.5cm and then cut each one on the diagonal so you have 8 triangles. Lay them out in your desired pattern.

The sentiment is stamped onto Basic White card and die cut using the Stylish Shapes dies. A Navy banner in the next size up was cut to place behind. I felt there was something missing, so I used the Give it a Whirl dies to cut a heart from the new In Color Glimmer card. Don’t you think it makes all the difference?!!!

On the inside a piece of Basic White card is added with another Glimmer heart in the smaller size.

Soft Suede Blog Hop ~ Two different techniques using the Stamparatus!

CCS Logo 2021-22

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 46 – Soft Suede

Tonight I have two cards for you, both using the Stamparatus to show you how wonderful this product is and if you like things perfect, this is the tool for you!

Card 1 – is a masculine card using For The Record stamp set. My card base is Basic Black with a layer of Soft Suede which has two sentiments stamped down the right side using the Stamparatus and the hinged stamping technique. This means you stamp once, move the acrylic plate down one notch and stamp again and repeat to have a uniform pattern. I stamped these in Soft Suede and Memento Black inks.

For the Record Masculine card for Soft Suede Colour Creations blog hop by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2022.

The record image is stamped in Versamark Ink onto Basic Black card. I added Clear Emboss Powder and heat set it with my Heat Tool.  I cut it out using the Layering Circles dies. I added a few Dimensionals to the back of the record but didn’t take off the Dimensional backings. Leave them on so the record spins. I pierced a hole through the centre of the record and the Suede layer using the Take Your Pick Tool and added a brad, gently closing it at the back. These layers are added to the card base with Dimensionals. Now the record spins!!!

The heart is Real Red card and cut using the Give It a Whirl dies and added to the brad with a glue dot.

On the inside, I placed a Basic White card insert and partially stamped the record three times across the bottom in Soft Suede ink.

Card 2 – uses the Nothing’s Better Than stamp set and coordinating Love You More Than dies.

My card base is Thick Basic White with layers of Soft Suede and Symbols of Fortune Specialty DSP. The stamped top layer is created using the Stamparatus and the Wreath Builder technique or Stamping in the Round (SITR) technique. The cookie outline is Soft Suede ink and the solid fill image is Crumb Cake ink. It reminds me of a plate of cookies sitting on a marble benchtop 🙂

Nothing's better than SITR card for Soft Suede Colour Creations blog hop by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2022

You can see the die cut word ‘cookies’ has a 3D raised look – I applied an Adhesive Foam Sheet to the back of the Soft Suede layer and die cut this word in the centre, before gluing the white stamped layer on top to cover it up! This also gave this top section some extra depth.

Irresistible Fancy Z-Fold card

Today’s card is an irresistible Z-fold design using the gorgeous Misty Moonlight cardstock (which is retiring on 2 May). I am really sad about this, but we need to look at the positives and to the 5 new colours we will gain with the new Annual catalogue. The patterned paper is the Heart & Home 12×12 DSP and the image is from the Blessings of Home Bundle (Blessings of Home stamp set and Flowers of Home dies).

Blessings of Home Z Fancy Fold card by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2022 closed

This entire card uses only 1 sheet of A4 Misty Moonlight cardstock. I share all the Metric measurements at the end of this post so you can make one too!

The image is stamped in Misty Moonlight ink and then I coloured the image using my Wink of Stella and the following ink pads; Bumblebee, Just Jade and Misty Moonlight. It is really hard to photograph the glimmer this gives, but by using the Wink of Stella like a paint brush to gently add colour directly from the inkpad, gives the entire image a glorious shine!

Here is the card when open. What a beauty hey?! Don’t forget to stamp on your envelope too – who doesn’t love a pretty envelope in the mail?!

Measurements
Base: cardstock 28cm x 10.5cm, score @ 7cm & 14cm. DSP 13.5cm x 10cm and 10cm x 6.5cm
Insert: cardstock 25cm x 9cm, score @ 7cm & 14cm. DSP 8.5cm x 6.5cm. White card 10.5cm x 8.5cm
Front Tab: cardstock 9cm x 4.7cm. White card 8.5cm x 4.2cm
Extra White card for stamping the feature image.

I need to give Sharon Armstrong a big thanks as I initially saw this card design on her Pinterest page, but I needed to redesign to Metric measurements and I used different products.

New 2022-2024 In Colors

It’s the Anzac Day public holiday meaning a long weekend here in Victoria, and my hubby has gone to the footy, so I’ve had an extra day to play with the new In Colors!!!  Have you seen them yet? Let me introduce you to them:

2022-2024 In Colors

What do you think? Do you have a favourite colour? I fell in love with Orchid Oasis initially, but now I have them all together on one card, it is hard to choose a favourite, they are all stunning and coordinate so well together!

So here they are, all on one card – Sweet Sorbet, Parakeet Party, Orchid Oasis and Tahitian Tide for the rainbow and the background DSP and stamped sentiment (On the Horizon stamp set) is the Starry Sky! This 2022-2024 In Color 6×6 DSP pack has some great new patterns too. Even the 2022-2024 In Color Matte Decorative Dots match perfectly (see them at the top of each rainbow colour).

Rainbow of Happiness In Color card by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2022

The clouds are cut using the Cloud Punch with the Mother of Pearl Specialty Paper. This paper is amazing and the photos don’t do it justice, it is so sparkly!!!!

Now that I’ve seen the cardstock colours, here they are stamped on the inside in each of the ink colours! Aren’t they bright and happy?!!!

These will be available from 3 May 2022 with the new Annual Catalogue launch. But if you join now as a demonstrator, you can get these products early in your starter kit!

Do you have a copy of this catalogue yet?

Six cards inspired by my recent holiday!

Today’s cards are inspired by my recent week long holiday to Phillip Island. It was great to get away from the city and enjoy the slower pace of seaside living, sound of the ocean and fresh air!

When I got home after not taking any craft with me, I was inspired to get creating. So are you ready to see my projects?!!!

Here are some of the items; Waves of Inspiration stamp set and coordinating Waves dies, Waves of the Ocean Designer 12×12 Papers, 12×12 Blue Foil Specialty Pack, and the Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewels. The stamp and die bundle will be in the new Annual catalogue released on 3 May, however the other items are limited and available until 3 May if not sold out prior.

Waves of the Ocean Collection 161797

I have also used the Paradise Palms Bundle (Paradise Palms stamp set and Palms dies).

PARADISE PALMS BUNDLE 157719

Card 1 – a simple design with some DSP, then a ring/circle of the Blue Foil cut using the new Stylish Shapes dies #159183 (available 3 May) and popped up on Foam Adhesive Strips. The wave is cut in Basic White card and adhered behind the circle.

The sentiment is stamped in Pacific Point ink and cut out using Paper Snips.

I stamped the birds and grass (On the Horizon) directly onto the DSP in Soft Suede ink and the sentiment and pelican onto Basic White and die cut. Some Pebble Enamel Shapes were added along with some Rhinestone Wave Jewels.

Pillar Pop Up Fancy Fold card with Waves of the Ocean

It’s the Labour Day long weekend here in Victoria, so I’ve had an extra day to play with my new goodies that arrived on Saturday!

Today’s card is inspired by Rachel Tessman and you can see her video here. I changed mine up a bit by just using a normal A5 card, rather than the stand she creates. I just adore this style and I can see myself making many more, they just have a real wow and still fit into an envelope to post!

Waves of the Ocean Pillar Pop Up card by Kate Morgan, Stampin up Australia 2022

My card base is Night of Navy 21cm x 14.8cm folded in half. Using the Stitched Rectangle dies to create the frame (2, 3, 5 & 6). Use 2 & 6 together for the Navy frame and 3 & 5 for the DSP on the frame. Glue the DSP on the frame before adding one wave in front and one wave behind and trimming the excess.

Stitched Rectangle Dies Numbers

The pillars are created using a piece of the same DSP. These need to be 3″ tall, so start with a 6″ piece and score at ⅜”, ¾”, 1⅛”, 1½” and cut at 1¾” – then cut in half at 3” to have 2 pieces. Fold these to create the pillars and adhere them to the back of the frame. Rachel lines hers up with the edge of the card, however because I was using an A5 metric card base, I lined my frame up with the edge of the background DSP.

Waves of the Ocean Pillar Pop Up card by Kate Morgan, Stampin up Australia 2022 top

The sentiment is stamped in Versamark ink, White Emboss Powder added and heat set before die cutting and adhering to the card.

When adhering the frame to the card, Rachel lines it up with the edge of the card, however because I was using a metric card base, I lined my frame up with the edge of the background DSP.

It folds flat to fit in an envelope and can be folded to the right…

…or to the left, it doesn’t matter!

Under the Sea card

Today’s card is all about the sea!

While I was on a zoom craft & chat session with my fellow demonstrators last week, I wanted to play with the New Horizons Suite. Well, that was the plan, but it didn’t quite eventuate like that. I got out the New Horizons 6″x6″ DSP, and die cut a full sheet with the two soft edged mountain dies (the ones under the snowy peaks below).

New Horizons Suite 157782 Craft with Kate

My card base is Evening Evergreen. I then had a piece of card 5mm smaller than the card base, and started layering the die cut pieces starting at the top of the card. It doesn’t matter if they overhang off the card, as once it’s complete, I cut around the edges of the card so it’s neat and tidy. Doesn’t it create an amazing background?! Glue this to the card base.

Horizon dies, Whale of a Time & Plentiful Plants card by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2022.

I stamped the whale (Whale Done stamp set) in Coastal Cabana ink and punched it out with the Whale Builder Punch. The foliage is from the Plentiful Plants bundle and I used Old Olive, Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen inks for variation. These are cut out with the coordinating dies and added with Dimensionals.

I stamped the fish and the larger reeds directly onto the patterned paper background.

On the inside I added more of the patterned paper in the same way as the front and stamped the sentiment.
