Flowers Fair with Embossed Vellum Technique

While we focus on Shy Shamrock this week, I wanted to share another card I made with the Flowers Fair stamp set.

I stamped the image in Basic Gray ink onto Vellum, sprinkled over Clear Emboss Powder, shake off the excess ad gently melt with my Heat Tool.  Turn it over and place onto a Silcone Craft Sheet or Stampin’ Pierce Mat. Use the Take Your Pick Tool with the Small Stylus end and trace the inside of each image. When you turn it over it will appear white, that’s what you want to create the Embossed Vellum technique!

Once you have done that, use Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers (Melon Mambo & Shy Shamrock) to colour the images on the reverse side.

Die cut the frame using two of the Beautifully Celebrated dies nested together with Secret Sea cardstock. Diecut the largest die into the centre of a piece of Shy Shamrock cardstock the same size as the cardfront.

Cut the vellum to a slighty smaller size than the card front, add adhesive around the edges and adhere it to a Basic Beige card base. Then adhere the Shy Shamrock card over the top and then adhere the frame. To finish, add the sentiment across the frame and some Glossy Dots Assortment.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next week for Smoky Slate inspiration.

Shy Shamrock: Simply Beautiful Watercolour Card

Welcome to the Colour Creations Instahop. You can follow us on Instagram starting  @craftwithkate. Each week we will showcase the Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 47 – Shy Shamrock

This handmade card features the Simply Beautiful Bundle (stamps and coordinating dies). I started with stamping the images onto Fluid 100 Watercolor paper and Vellum with Versamark ink. Gold WOW emboss powder was added, shake off the excess and gently melt it with my Heat Tool.

I pressed my inkpads onto an acrylic block and used that as my palette with Water Painters. The leaves are Shy Shamrock and Pretty Peacock, and the flower is Bubble Bath, Fresh Freesia and Highland Heather. Set aside to dry. The reverse side of a Lovely Doilies is ink blended with Shy Shamrock using Blending Brushes and added to one side of the card. I used scissors to remove the overhanging doily.

Once the images were dry (use a Heat Tool if needed), die cut them with the cooredinating dies. Sit them onto the card to work out thr placement. The vellum flower I cut in half to use above and below with some extra leaves. Once I was happy with the layout, I stamped extra leaves with Shy Shamrock ink directly onto the card base (and down the side of the envelope). The sentiment is stamped onto a strip of Basic White card. Adhere the vellum images the add the watercolor images on top with Dimensionals. The stamen is a Gold Foil die cut and added with Glue.

Some Low Profile Dots are added to finish the card. Extra images are added on the inside to continue the theme.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next week for Smoky Slate inspiration.

Shy Shamrock: Flowers of Beauty Watercolour Resist cards

2024-25 blog header

I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Wednesday evening for the AWHT Colour Creations Blog Hop showcasing the full range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 4 – Shy Shamrock

With the release of the new Annual catalogue, we begin our blog hops with the new In Color™ range, followed by the new Basic Beige, then all the other Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order. So today, we have the second new 2024-2026 In Color™, Shy Shamrock.

2024-2026 IN COLORS

Today I feature the Watercolour Resist Technique with the Flowers of Love stamp set. I had a pack of Basic White Notecards and Envelopes sitting on my desk and so I started with dry embossing the front of the card and the flap of the envelope with the Eyelet 3D TIEF. I took a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolour paper (9.4 x 5.6cm) and stamped the little flower [Flowers of Beauty] with Versamark ink. Then added White Emboss Powder and melted it with my Heat Tool. Next I created a watercolour wash with my Water Painters and some ink squished onto an acrylic block to use as my palette.  I used my Heat Tool to quicken the drying process, before adding a little extra colour to each of the flower petals. This was mounted to a piece of Shy Shamrock cardstock (9.8 x 6cm). and glued to the card front. The sentiment [Simply Said] was also heat embossed and trimmed with Paper Snips and added on Dimensionals. Some In Color™ Shimmer Gems were added to the centre of each flower.

and whilst I was at it, I created one in each of the new 2024-2026 In Colors™. These will become a lovely pack of cards to give as a gift!

I just love all these bright tones that add extra pizzazz to the existing SU collections. Which one is your favourite?
