For tonight’s showcase, we were given a card sketch as a starting point for inspiration. This is something that I really struggle with, but really wanted to challenge myself to have a go at.

Sketch Challenge

This card is for my Father-in-law birthday so I started with the Well Suited DSP. I chose Pacific Point as my card base and then layered two patterns of the DSP, joining them under the Seaside Spray Scallop Ribbon Trim. The stitched triangles are embossed using the Scripty 3D, Tasteful Textile 3D & Hammered Metal 3D Textured Impressions Embossing Folders. The Happy Birthday (Sweet Ice Cream stamp set) is stamped in Night of Navy ink, fussy cut with Paper Snips then added with Dimensionals.

Thanks to Ros Davidson, I had a go at making some of my own Faux Resin Dots. Using a standard hole punch, I punched some cardstock, placed them onto the Silicone Mat and added some Fine Tip Glue piled up on top. Allow them to dry fully (a few hours), before adding them to your card with a glue dot.

On the inside, I added an offcut of the DSP and stamped the sentiments with Night of Navy ink and the stars with Pacific Point ink.

Week 32 – Pacific Point

The Many Messages stamp set is just that – 19 messages in one stamp!!!

Use the Stamparatus to get the perfect imprint and then cut them all out in one go using the Message Die.

Once you die cut the stamped image, you are left with a negative piece that I keep and place over my card base to use as a template to insert the pieces back onto my card!

Using the die, I also cut some plain white and Pacific Point card, so I had plain die cuts to insert back onto my card. In the next image you can see I placed 3 of the stamped dies first, then placed some of the blue and white ones around it.

I added a few of the sequins from the Whale of a Time Suite with a glue dot for some extra embellishment.

The background was created with four 2cm strips of DSP and one in Pacific Point card.

Monthly Creative Showcase: Masculine Theme

Tonight’s card is a fancy fold Cube Card that is so popular right now. You can find instructions all over the internet to create these.

I have kept mine fairly simple and straight forward with the decorating. The World of Good Specialty DSP has the gorgeous Gold Foil through it, so I didn’t want to go covering it up with loads of embellishments.

This shows yo the hinges on the back of the elements, to give them that floating look on the folds.

Don’t you love the pop of pink with the Magenta Madness?!!!

This card folds flat (two ways) for mailing in a standard envelope or a smaller square envelope!

Wow, it’s almost the end of another decade 😲 Where has the year gone? Did it disappear as fast for you too?!!!

Tonight’s card is another sneak peek of the Country Club Suite – but this is a quick and easy one to recreate. Simply using a piece of the Country Club Designer Series Paper, cover the front of the card.

To make the collar, I used the 4th largest die from the Stitched Rectangle dies, and placed it on an angle so the bottom section of the die is at the corner of the card and the centre. Once you have this piece cut, use it as a template to cut the other side exactly the same size. The centre piece with the buttons, I just used the same die cutting a couple of times to get a narrow piece. Glue this piece down before the collar. The buttons are the small golf ball dies in Whisper White card stock!

The gold clubs are die cut in Garden Green card stock.

Stamp the envelope and the inside of the card to tie them all together.

Colour Creations: Enjoy Life, Call Me Clover

Hello Crafters,

Welcome to another Art With Heart Team Colour Creations weekly Blog Hop. Today we are featuring Call Me Clover!!!

Today’s card was inspired from watching the Tour de France on TV this month. I am totally in awe of how they ride such huge distances; over 3,500 kms in 23 days. I also love seeing all the gorgeous countryside of France. It reminds me of my trip through some of these same areas, back in 2001!

I have used the Enjoy Life stamp set with some of the Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper as a layer behind the cyclists. The bike image is stamped in the full colour, then stamped again as a second generation stamping to get the lighter shade and even again a third time. Don’t you think it looks just like a Peloton?!!!

The inside of the card, I have placed a layer of Very Vanilla card, stamped simply with some of the grass in Call Me Clover ink.

Farewell, Masculine, Stampin' Up!

Masculine Farewell with Rooted in Nature

Dear Crafters,

Today’s card is another farewell card, but this time we have a masculine theme. I thought that the new Rooted in Nature bundle was going to be the perfect choice!

Here I have used Dapper Denim & Emerald Envy, two colours that will be retiring at the end of this month. I’ve also used Very Vanilla, with a new in color, Grapefruit Grove with Soft Suede & Dapper Denim ink pads. These colours go so well together!

I stamped the leaves before die cutting them and adding them to the card base with fast fuse. I embossed a couple of the leaves with the new Big Shot Embossing Mats before die cutting them. I tried cutting them first, then embossing, but it was too hard that way. Doesn’t it give a beautiful texture?!!

The Farewell sentiment was printed from my computer and cut out with the Classic Label Punch.

Don’t you think that circle image looks a bit like the moon? The way it is shaded just the reminds me of that! The sentiment is also from the same set and I stamped it in Dapper Denim ink.
