Monthly Creative Showcase featuring DSP

AWHT Creative Showcase

Monthly Creative Showcase: Designer Series Paper

Tonight I have a couple of projects for you using patterned papers – this first one uses the gorgeous Whale of a Time 6″ x 6″ papers.

My Pacific Point card base is 21cm x 14.8cm, scored at 5.3cm & 10.5cm (landscape)

The DSP is 10.3cm x 14.5cm & 4.8cm x 14.5cm. The Whisper White piece is also 4.8cm x 14.5cm. The 2″ and 2¼” circle punches are used for the feature on the front.

This particular pattern reminds me of the scene in the movie Finding Nemo where the turtles ride the East Australian current. Oh, I love that movie 🥰

The 1cm Pool Party Sheer Ribbon is wrapped around the front panel and glued behind the circle. The stamping inside is Bumblebee for the fish and Pacific Point for the sentiment.

My next card is a square card (12.5cm x 12.5cm) and I have used the sunburst technique. This is a wonderful way to show both sides of the lovely designer papers, because sometimes both sides are adorable and I can’t choose which to use – so why not show both!

I cut another piece of card to measure 12cm x 12cm and using a pencil, draw lines from corner to corner and side to side as shown.

Sunburst Technique using Stampin Up Whale of a Time DSP by Kate Morgan Australia 2020 How to.

Take 2 pieces of 6″ x 6″ designer paper and cut them into 3″ x 3″ squares. Take one and mark the centre on two sides – here I have used a chalk marker so you can see it. Place it in your trimmer lining up one of the marks at the top and the point at the bottom also in the track and cut. Then rotate the next mark to the top and cut down to the same corner. You’ll be left with 2 triangles and a kite shaped piece.  Repeat this on 3 other squares.

Sunburst Technique using Stampin Up Whale of a Time DSP by Kate Morgan Australia 2020 How to

Add Stampin’ Seal around the edges and down each of the pencil lines of your card. Start in one corner and place the pieces of DSP with the kite shape in the centre and alternate your patterns.

Here are those same turtles as in the card above, featured in the centre of this card. This time I added some Just Jade ribbon between the two circles.

Monthly Creative Showcase – Masculine Theme Cube Card

AWHT Creative Showcase

Monthly Creative Showcase: Masculine Theme

Tonight’s card is a fancy fold Cube Card that is so popular right now. You can find instructions all over the internet to create these.

Masculine Cube Card using Stampin Ups World of Good Suite by Kate Morgan Australia 2020

I have kept mine fairly simple and straight forward with the decorating. The World of Good Specialty DSP has the gorgeous Gold Foil through it, so I didn’t want to go covering it up with loads of embellishments.

This shows yo the hinges on the back of the elements, to give them that floating look on the folds.

Don’t you love the pop of pink with the Magenta Madness?!!!

This card folds flat (two ways) for mailing in a standard envelope or a smaller square envelope!

Forever Fern with the Baby Wipe Technique

AWHT Creative Showcase

The Art With Heart Team are back with another Creative Showcase, this time featuring different colouring techniques. The Stampin’ Up! range contains a bevy of functional and effective colouring tools; Blends Markers, Water Painters, Inks, Daubers, Watercolour Pencils, Stampin’ Write Markers and more. Enjoy the amazing projects our team members have to share with you, demonstrating these products.

Now let’s get started!

Tonight I am sharing the baby wipe technique featuring the Forever Fern Bundle. To get started setting up your technique, you will need a couple of baby wipes folded in half on a plate. Take your chosen ink refill bottles, and place a few drops of each colour randomly so you have different colours next to each other, leaving a little space between the colours so they can spread and merge. This is now your inkpad, stamp your image right into the baby wipes. When using this technique, you want to make the most of the ink, so expect to make loads of projects with stamped images from the one batch. I stamped lots of sheets of A4 Shimmery White card to make the most of it!

Bumblebee Jade Magenta

I stamped the background with the one image. The foliage behind the sentiment is stamped in Just Jade ink and die cut and another of the leaf images stamped the same way as the background.

How gorgeous does that sentiment look in all those pretty merged colours?!

My next card I used the inlay technique. The foliage is stamped using the baby wipe technique and then the Just Jade layer is die cut with only the dies randomly placed before being embossed with the Greenery embossing folder. This is glued to the Magenta Madness layer and then the foliage glued inside! The sentiment is stamped on white card and die cut with the Tasteful Labels dies.

The gold hoop embellishment is added and some more foliage is die cut out of card stock and popped up on dimensionals on the edge of the hoop. To finish off I added a bumblebee gingham bow, In Color Enamel dots and some of the gold thread.

My final card tonight is my favourite. I love the background image in these colours. It is a more delicate leaf image and very feminine.

The Forever Greenery Trim Combo pack has this gold thread and when you cut it in small pieces, it unravels and you get these delicate threads. I placed them behind the die cut images for a softer look.

Of course, with some left over images, I added these die cuts to the inside of each card!

Creative Showcase Sketch

AWHT Creative Showcase

Welcome to the May Art With Heart Creative Showcase. This month the Art With Heart Team have amazing projects to share with you that have been inspired by the card sketch below. The sketch is to be used as a starting point and has been interpreted in many creative ways by the Art With Heart Team.

AWHT Colour Creations Showcase May 2020 Sketch

Now let’s get started!

Today’s card uses the Ornate Garden Suite and the Peaceful Poppies Suite of
Products, all which will still be available in the new Annual catalogue starting 3 June!

Olive Balmy Navy White Flirty

The front of the Balmy Blue card base is embossed with the Subtle 3D embossing folder, before a layer of Old Olive card, die cut with the Ornate Layers dies. A Piece of DSP is added, long with other elements you can see.

This centre feature is the ornate style stamp set image stamped onto some Sparkle Glimmer Paper and die cut in a circle. I’ve coloured the image, gently in a dabbing motion so as not to ruin them, with Stampin’ Blends Markers. How pretty does it look?!!

On the inside I have the same image stamped on Whisper White card stock, coloured the same way and fussy cut. This is glued to the Champagne Foil Sheet, die cut with the gorgeous Ornate Layers dies. The Navy card is embossed with the new Ornate Floral 3D embossing folder.

But then you open it again to reveal the inside of the card!

How did I do that? The card consists of 2 standard card bases, but the Navy one is flipped over and opens in the opposite direction and is glued behind the Balmy Blue card base!

Monochrome Creative Showcase

AWHT Creative Showcase

Welcome to the March Creative Showcase with the Art With Heart Team!

This month we are featuring Monochromatic cards, that is cards that only use different shades of the same colour. This is a great opportunity for us to demonstrate the wonderful range of Stampin’ Up! colours across our inks, papers and embellishments that can be combined to produce the amazing monochromatic samples we have to share with you.

Now let’s get started!

My first project is a masculine card predominantly using the Waterfront stamp set and Night of Navy and White. The sentiment is from the Birthday Goodness stamp set.

My next card is a sneak peek at some new product coming soon for my feminine Rococo Rose Monochrome card. This is the Ornate Style stamp set, Ornate Border Dies & Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder. (All these items will be available in the upcoming Annual catalogue in June, or now if you wish to join and add them to your starter kit).

Monochrome Ornate Style Feminine card Stampin Up 2020 by Kate Morgan, Australia.

Emboss the Rococo Rose card base with the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder. Die cut the border die in the same colour card once, then line it up on the opposite side to achieve the strip of fancy border.

Stamp the floral image in Versamark ink onto whisper white card, added clear emboss powder and heat set it. Then I used a sponge dauber and roughly inked the entire image, before fussy cutting.

Using the Rococo Rose Light & Dark Stampin’ Blends Markers, colour the image. I also used the Light marker to outline the entire image. I used the dark maker to colour the rhinestones and the Whisper White Ribbon.

On the inside, I used the Ornate Border die to create that floral die cut down the right side. The rhinestones are the perfect size to sit in the centre of the flower. The sentiment is stamped using the Family Party Stamp set.

Masculine Creative Showcase with the Art with Heart Team

AWHT Creative Showcase Masculine

Welcome to our new Monthly Creative Showcase with the Art With Heart Team!

This month we are featuring Masculine themed projects. We have many masculine themed products in the Stampin’ Up! range including Stamp Sets and coordinating Dies, Designer Series Papers, Embellishments and Embossing Folders. The Art With Heart Team have a wonderful selection of projects to inspire you to create Masculine Masterpieces.

Now let’s get started!

This set of cards were very quick to create and I shared this style with my class ladies to help them cut into their Designer Series Papers. Starting with a simple card base, then cut one piece of DSP slightly smaller (5mm). Take the DSP and cut about a third off the bottom, then flip that piece over to the reverse design. Glue these to your card then add a strip of Tear & Tape across the join. Add some of the Braided Burlap Trim. Punch some 2″ Circles and stamp a sentiment and add a trinket with a glue dot!

This is a wonderful way to use your pretty DSPs without covering too much of the pattern with other elements. You can whip up a whole bunch of these in minutes.

My next project is a pop up box card or some call it a Card in a Box, but I wanted a longer length than usual. I needed it to be a landscape style for my golf scene, and it still fits into a C6 envelope!

Masculine card using Stampin Up Clubhouse Golf by Kate Morgan Australia 2020.

Did you know that the golf ball can be cut out using your 1″ circle punch?!! Yep, it’s the perfect fit!!!

I stamped the entire image in Garden Green and die cut it out, then stamped the image again in Smoky Slate. Instead of die cutting, punch the golf ball and glue it to the die cut!

I also glued some of the grass die cuts in front and some behind the centre section for more depth. How cool are these wooden elements too?!

The back of the card is where you write your message and I have decorated it with some more of the DSP and a sentiment.

A tip: when gluing in the golfer, it is best to place your card on top of your envelope to ensure that all the images fit within the size of the envelope!
