Masculine Creative Showcase with the Art with Heart Team

AWHT Creative Showcase Masculine

Welcome to our new Monthly Creative Showcase with the Art With Heart Team!

This month we are featuring Masculine themed projects. We have many masculine themed products in the Stampin’ Up! range including Stamp Sets and coordinating Dies, Designer Series Papers, Embellishments and Embossing Folders. The Art With Heart Team have a wonderful selection of projects to inspire you to create Masculine Masterpieces.

Now let’s get started!

This set of cards were very quick to create and I shared this style with my class ladies to help them cut into their Designer Series Papers. Starting with a simple card base, then cut one piece of DSP slightly smaller (5mm). Take the DSP and cut about a third off the bottom, then flip that piece over to the reverse design. Glue these to your card then add a strip of Tear & Tape across the join. Add some of the Braided Burlap Trim. Punch some 2″ Circles and stamp a sentiment and add a trinket with a glue dot!

This is a wonderful way to use your pretty DSPs without covering too much of the pattern with other elements. You can whip up a whole bunch of these in minutes.

My next project is a pop up box card or some call it a Card in a Box, but I wanted a longer length than usual. I needed it to be a landscape style for my golf scene, and it still fits into a C6 envelope!

Masculine card using Stampin Up Clubhouse Golf by Kate Morgan Australia 2020.

Did you know that the golf ball can be cut out using your 1″ circle punch?!! Yep, it’s the perfect fit!!!

I stamped the entire image in Garden Green and die cut it out, then stamped the image again in Smoky Slate. Instead of die cutting, punch the golf ball and glue it to the die cut!

I also glued some of the grass die cuts in front and some behind the centre section for more depth. How cool are these wooden elements too?!

The back of the card is where you write your message and I have decorated it with some more of the DSP and a sentiment.

A tip: when gluing in the golfer, it is best to place your card on top of your envelope to ensure that all the images fit within the size of the envelope!

Share What You Love SDSP Gift Box with card hanger

Dear Crafters,

Today I share a project that I saw Rhonda Wade create on her FB page and I immediately fell in love with it. It uses 2 sheets of the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper and that gets you the box and the card!

With this Specialty DSP being so thick, it makes this box super sturdy and so big, that you could fit so much into it; a beautiful scarf, clothing, 2 bottles of wine, whatever you really like!

And how cool it is to have that card hanger on the front to hang your coordinating card!

I also used the Make a Difference Stamp set with the Stamparatus for the sentiment and I will show you how that was made in a separate post on Friday!

The inside of the card looks like this! I love both sides of this DSP that you don’t want to hide it by gluing it to the front of a card base, so folding it in half and adding a piece of A6 cardstock to the back as the base, you get to see both sides!

Popping Box Card

Dear Crafters,

Recently I saw an amazing Tutorial by Gemma Clarke, a UK Demonstrator, who made this awesome popping box card and I have been wanting to make it ever since! She also has a link to her YouTube videos in two parts on her blog.

I have used the stunning Lift Me Up Bundle from the Occasions catalogue. I just love the brightness of the colours in these papers.

As you can see, it is a long box that is decorated with the Carried Away DSP.

Pull the ribbon tab and out pops this box!!! Amazing, right?!!!

But the thing is, this popping box folds flat to fit inside the long box. It has a rubber band mechanism to make it pop!  If you want to see a short video of it opening click here, for the link on my Facebook page.

I also decorated the inside of the box.

On each of the 4 sides I decorated the popping box with stamps, DSP and die cuts.

Card in a Box

Dear Crafters,

Today I have a card in a box (sometimes known as explosion box card) which I was asked to make for a work colleague to give to a family friend for an 80th birthday!

It’s been a while since I have made one of these, but I do love them and I enjoyed making this one. I had to refer to my Free Tutorial for the measurements, it’s been so long!!!!

80th Birthday card in a box, Petite Petals, Papillon Potpourri, DIY Feminine #stampinup @cardsbykatemorgan

The brief was that she is a crafty person, who enjoys sewing. Well, I didn’t have anything along those lines, but what lady doesn’t love flowers and butterflies, right?!!!!

Baby Crib

Dear Crafters,

Baby Girl Card #stampinup

Check out this cute baby girl card in the shape of a baby crib!

I saw something similar on Pinterest but they didn’t have instructions on how to make it, so my effort was totally trial and error, but I’m sure I will make another for a boy, so I will take note of all my measurements.

Baby Girl Card #stampinup     Baby Girl Card #stampinup

I figured it was similar to the card in a box style, so I worked it from there. The ends are 2″ wide and cut with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch. The Hearts Border punch was also used to cut the pink trim.

This card does lie flat and fits into the Stampin’ Up! C6 envelopes!

Baby Girl Card #stampinup

I used the Made With Love stamp set and coordinating Baby’s First Framelits Dies, using So Saffron, Pink Pirouette and Mint Macaron as my colour theme.

Don’t forget to decorate your envelope to coordinate with your card!

Cake in a Box

Dear Crafters,

Today I share something a little different to the usual cards and Project Life creations. I received this little decorative window gift box from another demonstrator to come up with something special. So I got to work and thought about turning it into a different type of card, a card in a box!

Seeing as I had some leftover butterflies from a previous project, I thought I would use them on the top of this cute little box and add some ribbon around the base.

As you know, I love butterflies, and so does my dear friend who turned 50 last week and had her big party on Saturday night, hence why I couldn’t post this sooner!!!! Happy Birthday Lisa, this is for you!

Cake in a box

You may have noticed I called this box a decorative window box? Well it did have a clear window sheet opening at the top but that was going to defeat the purpose of my little creation. Why, you say? well keep reading and you will see why.

Now are you ready to see inside? This is my favourite part!!!!

Cake in a box

I used the Big Day stamp set with Strawberry Slush ink on Crisp Canteloupe card stock and added a small Itty Bitty Flower punch from the Accents Punch Pack with a rhinestone in the centre.

In the box is a cake made from a battery operated tea light candle. The idea is to turn the light on before you hand it over to the recipient, hence why I wanted to cover up the acetate window on the top!

Cake in a box

The inspiration to make this special card in a box was from Terri Suzuki and you can find her tutorial on this by clicking here.

What do you think? Isn’t it stunning?

Here’s a close up with the candle turned on!

Cake in a box

I also added some rhinestones around the top of the cake and the base.

I would love for you to comment below with your thoughts on this creation.

Card in a Box

Dear Crafters,

I had an order to make some personalised cards and I want to share some of them with you over the next week as I get them organised.

The first one was to be an 18th Birthday Card for Stacey and she loves the Richmond Football Club, so this is what I came up with:

Card in a box

Google helped with the images and I printed the words to the Theme Song as the background. I think Stacey will love her card!

Hawks

Hello Crafters,

What a busy time of year it is for our family!

On the weekend, we celebrated by brother-in-law’s 40th birthday and he is a mad loyal Hawthorn Football Club supporter, so what better way to celebrate than with a card in a box style card in the Hawthorn theme!

Hawthorn FC Card in a Box

I used Chocolate Chip and Crushed Curry card stock to create the base of the card. I got the images off the HFC website and printed the words to the theme song and placed them at the inside back of the card.

Hawthorn FC Card in a Box  Hawthorn FC Card in a Box

I had to add the 4 0 in some champagne glitter card!

Hawthorn FC Card in a Box

and the sentiment from the Petite Pairs Stamp Set.

Do you think he will like this? I am sure hoping so!

Mother’s Day

Hello Crafters,

If you don’t know it yet, it is Mother’s Day this Sunday and I have made a few cards in readiness for the celebrations.

As you know, the Card in the Box has been such a huge revelation over the past 6 months or so, and I was asked to make one by a work colleague for her hubby to give to his mum. I wanted to try something a little different, so I made a Card in a Box, but a longer version!

Card in a Box Long Version

You will be surprised, but this still fits into a C6 envelope to post. Woohoo!

Here it is from the end, so you can see a bit more dimension.

Card in a Box Long Version

I knew that this special mum was not well at the moment, so I thought that yellows and flowers were the way to go to cheer her up!!!!

Card in a Box Long Version

I used the Petite Petals Bundle (Stamp & coordinating Punch) and some butterflies from the Papillon Potpourri Stamp set.

Card in a Box Long Version

I also added some rhinestones to the centres of the flowers for a bit of sparkle.

I also used the Chalk Talk Bundle (Stamps & coordinating Framelits) for the sentiment.

I will be back on Friday with another Mother’s Day card, so be sure to check back then.
