Birthday Pop Up Card

Dear Crafters,

Today I share my Build a Birthday card with a difference. This is a pop up card, so slightly more advanced technique, but still easy when you follow the steps.

Let’s get started!

Here is the front of the card, and yes, it just looks like a normal C6 card, but wait til you see inside. I started with an A5 sheet of Watermelon Wonder card stock folded in half. I embossed a piece of Whisper White card with the Decorative Dots TIEF and adhered that to the front of the card. Then I added a smaller piece of Designer Series Paper from the Cherry on Top DSP Stack.

I stamped the sentiment onto white card and used the Note Tag Punch. I also used the Chalk Talk framelits to die cut the Watermelon Wonder piece, but cut one end off. It fits perfectly under the Note Tag Punch!!!!

On the inside top of the card, I glued another piece of the Cherry on Top DSP Stack paper before winding some twine around and through the tag and tying in a bow.

Now here is the fun part!

Check out all these candles that pop up when you open the card. How cool is that!

Build a Birthday Stampin Up!

I stamped all the candles and cut them out and punched the top of each one above the flame by placing it in the Modern Label punch!

Here is a side view of the open card.

This was not my original idea although I did need to change the measurements from Foolscap to A4 dimensions. I need to thank Georgia Giguere for this idea and you can view her video here https://youtu.be/iBD0r_V9YmE

Chalk Talk & I Love Lace

Dear Crafters,

Welcome to another card made with retiring products!

Today I use the Chalk Talk  and I Love Lace Stamp Sets and coordinating Chalk Talk framelits.

I used a Sahara Sand card base layered with Blushing Bride that was stamped with I Love Lace background stamp in Crumb Cake ink. I also sponged the edges with a sponge dauber. I added some of the Sahara Sand Lace Trim before gluing it to the base card.

Chalk Talk & I Love Lace

I stamped the large tag image from Chalk Talk and die cut it out with the framelits. I added some more of the lace trim and a small piece of linen thread tied around the top. I punched a couple of flowers from the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack, sponged the edges and added a pearl to the centre. It is such a versatile stamp set and another one that I am sad to see retire 😦

Chalk Talk & I Love Lace

I love the softness of this card and the vintage/cottage style it brings!

Below are some of the retiring products that I used above. Some up to 50% off, so get in quick as they are selling super fast! The bundles save you 15% by purchasing them together.

Mother’s Day

Hello Crafters,

If you don’t know it yet, it is Mother’s Day this Sunday and I have made a few cards in readiness for the celebrations.

As you know, the Card in the Box has been such a huge revelation over the past 6 months or so, and I was asked to make one by a work colleague for her hubby to give to his mum. I wanted to try something a little different, so I made a Card in a Box, but a longer version!

Card in a Box Long Version

You will be surprised, but this still fits into a C6 envelope to post. Woohoo!

Here it is from the end, so you can see a bit more dimension.

Card in a Box Long Version

I knew that this special mum was not well at the moment, so I thought that yellows and flowers were the way to go to cheer her up!!!!

Card in a Box Long Version

I used the Petite Petals Bundle (Stamp & coordinating Punch) and some butterflies from the Papillon Potpourri Stamp set.

I also added some rhinestones to the centres of the flowers for a bit of sparkle.

I also used the Chalk Talk Bundle (Stamps & coordinating Framelits) for the sentiment.

I will be back on Friday with another Mother’s Day card, so be sure to check back then.

Nail Polish Card

Hello Crafters,

The school holidays have arrived and my girls want to get all girly and paint their nails! I remembered seeing a card on Pinterest that I fancied, so here we go.

I did the base card in Pool Party, then added a layer of Whisper White and stamped two images from the Chalk Talk stamp set with Crisp Cantaloupe ink. I punched out the For You image with a 1-1/4″ circle punch and added it with dimensionals.

The gorgeous little nail polish bottles are made with Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Pool Party and black card stock.

The designer paper is from the Sweet Sorbet DSP pack.

The nail polish bottles are adhered with dimensionals also and a little rhinestone added for a bit of bling! What lady who paints her nails doesn’t love a bit of bling?!!!!

Here is a close up!

I love this card and can see myself making many more of these!
