Blog Hop: Favourite Retiring Products

Dear Crafters,

AWHT Logo-001

Today I bring you another AWHT blog hop with some of the awesome ladies in the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! Team. Today our focus is on  our Favourite Retiring Product!

You have come to my blog from the lovely, Jenny Van Dijk.

Now let’s get started!

For my project, I have used my all time favourite stamp set, Stippled Blossoms Stamp Set and the I Love Lace Background Stamp.

I was so upset when I saw that Stippled Blossoms was retiring as it was the very first Stampin’ Up stamp set that I purchased. I cannot tell you just how much I love it and I am certainly going to miss creating with it (sniff, sob). It was so popular that it also sold out within days of it retiring, so unfortunately it can no longer be purchased.

Stippled Blossoms & I Love Lace

I have used Crisp Cantaloupe as my card base. I stamped the I Love Lace background stamp with Versamark Ink onto Crisp Cantaloupe card stock and applied gold embossing powder being heat setting it. How gorgeous does it look? Check out that shine!

Stippled Blossoms & I Love Lace

Next I Inked up the solid Stippled Blossom image with Crisp Cantaloupe ink onto the coordinating card stock, using the Masking Technique. Then I applied Versamark ink to the second image and using the Stamp-a-ma-jig, stamped it on top, before applying more gold embossing powder and heat set it with my heat tool. This is the first time I have ever embossed this image, but it gives a real special effect and I wish I had thought of it sooner! I fussy cut the flowers with my paper snips.

The leaves are stamped with Old Olive and Baked Brown Sugar inks onto Whisper White card stock and fussy cut.

Stippled Blossoms & I Love Lace

I added the Baked Brown Sugar stretch ruffled ribbon around the edge before gluing it to the card base.

The images are added with dimensionals as is the sentiment. This was punched out with the Word Window punch.

I think this is the perfect card for this occasion.

Thanks for visiting today. Don’t forget to email me at craftwithkate@live.com.au to get a copy of the new Annual Catalogue or to ask about joining the Art With Heart team.

Chalk Talk & I Love Lace

Dear Crafters,

Welcome to another card made with retiring products!

Today I use the Chalk Talk  and I Love Lace Stamp Sets and coordinating Chalk Talk framelits.

I used a Sahara Sand card base layered with Blushing Bride that was stamped with I Love Lace background stamp in Crumb Cake ink. I also sponged the edges with a sponge dauber. I added some of the Sahara Sand Lace Trim before gluing it to the base card.

Chalk Talk & I Love Lace

I stamped the large tag image from Chalk Talk and die cut it out with the framelits. I added some more of the lace trim and a small piece of linen thread tied around the top. I punched a couple of flowers from the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack, sponged the edges and added a pearl to the centre. It is such a versatile stamp set and another one that I am sad to see retire 😦

Chalk Talk & I Love Lace

I love the softness of this card and the vintage/cottage style it brings!

Below are some of the retiring products that I used above. Some up to 50% off, so get in quick as they are selling super fast! The bundles save you 15% by purchasing them together.

World Card Making Day

Hello Crafters,

Today being World Card Making Day, I’m excited to bring you a blog hop with some of the awesome ladies in our Stampin’ Up! Art With Heart Team and our focus is GIVING.

There is nothing better than checking the mailbox and there is some happy mail from the postie!!! I hesitate and almost cringe wondering what bills are going to face me from the mailbox, but to find some happy mail instead is an absolute bonus, and better still, when it has been handmade by someone who is thinking about you, makes it even more special!

So, let’s share some happy mail cards that I am going to send out to some wonderful people this week ~ get ready to stalk that postie in case you are the lucky recipient!!!!

I also just want to add that I have a great time sharing what I love, and Stampin’ Up!’s Statement of the Heart is To love what we do and share what we love, as we help others enjoy creativity and worthwhile accomplishments…. in this we make a difference! I just love that and I think it sends a message to all of us who love to be creative.

Now let’s get started and see what you can make with some of Stampin’ Up!s amazing products from the Holiday and Annual catalogues.

A6 Card Box Chevron Petite Purse

The envelopes are stamped in Crumb Cake ink with I Love Lace down the left hand side.

Now for the card:

I Love Lace

I started with Island Indigo card stock, layered with a strip of Rich Razzleberry Core’dininations card stock. I took a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and cut it to the same length of the card and used the Chevron Border punch along one edge. I trimmed it so it has a 1/8″ border on each edge. I repeated this so I have two strips. I then turned one around and intertwined them (as shown).

Chevron Punch     Chevron Punch

I took a piece of Whisper White card and stamped it with the I Love Lace stamp using Versamark and then applied gold embossing powder and heat set it. Once touch dry, I punched the flowers using the Petite Petals and Itty Bitty Accents flower punches. I sponged the edges with the coordinating ink pads.

I Love Lace     I Love Lace

The leaves were die cut from the Flower Fair Framelits!

I added the flowers, leaves , sequins and twine with glue dots. The sentiment is from the Good Greetings Stamp set, a FREE Hostess item with any order (workshop or party) to the value of $300 as well as the Hostess dollars earned.

Don’t forget to decorate the inside of the card also. It doesn’t need to be fancy, but see how I added a little of the I Love Lace along the bottom? It just ties all the elements together!!!!!

I Love Lace

Would you like to see more? Yes?

Petite Purse     Petite Purse

I used the Petite Purse die to cut out an Island Indigo purse, then used Versamark ink and the I Love Lace stamp, before covering with gold embossing powder and heat setting. I attached the handle with gold brads and the petal in the same way.

Well here is another small project, an A6 card box!

IMG_5305

although this time, I made a box for the cards to go in to. This would make a quick and easy gift, along with a few cards to give to someone.

A6 Card Box

I started with an A4 piece of card and trimmed it to 29.7 x 20cm. I scored the short side at 2cm, then rotate to the long edge and score at 2, 14, 16, 28cm. Along the bottom edge (shown above), cut up each of the scorelines to the 2cm line.  I used the 2-1/2″ Circle Punch to create the 1/2 circle at the top.

Here is a close up of the decorating (same techniques as the card)!

I cannot tell you just how much I love these colours together!!!!

Gorgeous Grunge meets Petite Petals

Hello Crafters,

I have a wonderful card to share with you today, which is not a style that I am confident with, but I absolutely love the outcome. I got some inspiration from Pootles in the UK!

I changed up the colours and added some twine for a bit of extra interest.

Petite Petals

The card base in Rose Red, the next layer is Perfect Plum, then Whisper White. The Gorgeous Grunge splashes are in the coordinating inks, as are the sponged edges of the petals. The flowers were punched out of some Whisper White card stock that I had previously stamped with I Love Lace and embossed in Gold.

Petite Petals2

I then added the Baker’s Twine and the flowers with glue dots.

I stamped the sentiment in Perfect Plum ink.

Petite Petals3

Thanks again to Pootles for the inspiration!

Stippled Blossoms

Hello Crafters,

I have had a wonderful day at home today with the kids home on school holidays, and they sat with me and made some cards of their own. Yes, they did get a bit bored after a little while, so they headed out to watch the movie Frozen. Miss 8 made this card before she went. I was impressed and had to share it with you!!!

Anyway, back to what I decided to make and that was enter a challenge at Just Add Ink, which this week is a Sketch Challenge JAI#233.

I decided to try turning the sketch sideways and see what I could come up with. I chose one of my all time favourite SU stamp sets, Stippled Blossoms and wanted to make a card also using the new I Love Lace background stamp which I find absolutely stunning and I think these 2 sets go very well together!

Stippled Blossoms

I began with a Perfect Plum card base and added the banner. This was created by stamping I Love Lace with Versamark Ink onto Whisper White card stock, then heat embossed with gold. I then added the Baker’s Twine and tied in a bow.

I stamped the flowers in Perfect Plum with Elegant Eggplant, and the leaves in Pistachio Pudding with Wild Wasabi. Then fussy cut them all out!!!! I added each of the flowers with dimensionals and glued the leaves.

I stamped the sentiment in Elegant Eggplant onto the whisper white card and die cut with the framelits before adding with dimensionals.

Stippled Blossoms2

Why don’t you give a challenge a go, they are so much fun. Head across to the Just Add Ink page for more inspiration and see how the designers interpreted this challenge.

Everything Eleanor

Hello Crafters,

A few days ago I shared a card with you that I fell in love with and today I share with you another card using the background stamp, I Love Lace and Everything Eleanor, but in different colour tones.

I think this one is probably even more girly than the last one!

I Love Lace & Everything Eleanor

I have stamped the I Love Lace with Versamark ink and clear embossed it on Pink Pirouette cardstock. This is mounted onto white card and then Pink Pirouette card.

The blooms are from Everything Eleanor, and they are inked with Pink Pirouette on white card and fussy cut and sponged with ink.

I Love Lace & Everything Eleanor

I also sponged some ink of the same tones to the centre of each bloom.

I Love Lace & Everything Eleanor

The sentiment is from the Bloom with Hope Hostess Stamp Set. The ribbon is the new Seam Binding Ribbon available now from the new catalogue!

The pearls just finish it off perfectly!

But check out that background lace stamp, it is just so pretty and feminine!!!

I Love Lace

Hello Crafters,

Today I share with you a new stamp in the annual catalogue and it is a background stamp called I Love Lace.

I love that is gives a really girly, old worldy feel to the card, and it can be used for so many things. Check it out!

I Love Lace & Everything Eleanor

I have stamped the I Love Lace using Crumb Cake ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock and it is mounted onto Crumb Cake card and then Soft Suede card.

The blooms are from a stamp set called Everything Eleanor, and it has been around for a little while now, but I have only just got my hands on it. I really can’t answer why I have got it now, as it is just stunning!

The flourish and blooms are stamped in Soft Suede ink and the flowers are fussy cut and adhered with a dimensional.

I Love Lace & Everything Eleanor

I also sponged some ink of the same tones to the centre of each bloom.

I Love Lace & Everything Eleanor

The sentiment is from Petite Pairs Stamp Set.

But look at that background lace stamp, I just love it!!!
