Clear Block Stamping

Hello Crafters,

The challenge this week is Just Add Ink is Clear Block Stamping, JAI#237.

I have to admit I have never tried this technique before and this is one reason I love entering these challenges. It really does challenge us to try different styles!

Clear Block Stamping

I started with a card base of Lost Lagoon. I then got out the Serene Silhouettes Stamp Set and used the Versamark Ink to stamp the image onto Whisper White card stock. Then embossed it with clear embossing powder and heat set it.

Next I chose my colours, Island Indigo, Lost Lagoon & Pool Party. I used my ‘H’ Clear Block and inked it up on the ink pads starting at the top with Island Indigo. Once I stamped all the white card, I went back over the colours with a sponge dauber to soften and fill in the missing gaps.

Serene Silhouettes

The little raindrops I created by dropping some crystal effects onto my silicone mat and letting them dry before adhering to my card with Tombo glue.

I added a strip of the clear block stamping technique to the bottom of inside of my card and stamped the same flower image in Island Indigo ink just in the bottom corner.

Just Add Ink Clear Blocking

I added the sentiment from the Good Greetings Stamp Set in Island Indigo.

This background is very cheap and easy to create, why don’t you give it a go too.

Please leave a comment below, what you think of this technique.

Why don’t you give a challenge a go, they are so much fun. Head across to the Just Add Ink page for more inspiration and see how the designers interpreted this challenge.

World Card Making Day

Hello Crafters,

Today being World Card Making Day, I’m excited to bring you a blog hop with some of the awesome ladies in our Stampin’ Up! Art With Heart Team and our focus is GIVING.

There is nothing better than checking the mailbox and there is some happy mail from the postie!!! I hesitate and almost cringe wondering what bills are going to face me from the mailbox, but to find some happy mail instead is an absolute bonus, and better still, when it has been handmade by someone who is thinking about you, makes it even more special!

So, let’s share some happy mail cards that I am going to send out to some wonderful people this week ~ get ready to stalk that postie in case you are the lucky recipient!!!!

I also just want to add that I have a great time sharing what I love, and Stampin’ Up!’s Statement of the Heart is To love what we do and share what we love, as we help others enjoy creativity and worthwhile accomplishments…. in this we make a difference! I just love that and I think it sends a message to all of us who love to be creative.

Now let’s get started and see what you can make with some of Stampin’ Up!s amazing products from the Holiday and Annual catalogues.

A6 Card Box Chevron Petite Purse

The envelopes are stamped in Crumb Cake ink with I Love Lace down the left hand side.

Now for the card:

I Love Lace

I started with Island Indigo card stock, layered with a strip of Rich Razzleberry Core’dininations card stock. I took a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and cut it to the same length of the card and used the Chevron Border punch along one edge. I trimmed it so it has a 1/8″ border on each edge. I repeated this so I have two strips. I then turned one around and intertwined them (as shown).

I took a piece of Whisper White card and stamped it with the I Love Lace stamp using Versamark and then applied gold embossing powder and heat set it. Once touch dry, I punched the flowers using the Petite Petals and Itty Bitty Accents flower punches. I sponged the edges with the coordinating ink pads.

The leaves were die cut from the Flower Fair Framelits!

I added the flowers, leaves , sequins and twine with glue dots. The sentiment is from the Good Greetings Stamp set, a FREE Hostess item with any order (workshop or party) to the value of $300 as well as the Hostess dollars earned.

Don’t forget to decorate the inside of the card also. It doesn’t need to be fancy, but see how I added a little of the I Love Lace along the bottom? It just ties all the elements together!!!!!

I used the Petite Purse die to cut out an Island Indigo purse, then used Versamark ink and the I Love Lace stamp, before covering with gold embossing powder and heat setting. I attached the handle with gold brads and the petal in the same way.

Well here is another small project, an A6 card box!

although this time, I made a box for the cards to go in to. This would make a quick and easy gift, along with a few cards to give to someone.

A6 Card Box

I started with an A4 piece of card and trimmed it to 29.7 x 20cm. I scored the short side at 2cm, then rotate to the long edge and score at 2, 14, 16, 28cm. Along the bottom edge (shown above), cut up each of the scorelines to the 2cm line.  I used the 2-1/2″ Circle Punch to create the 1/2 circle at the top.

Here is a close up of the decorating (same techniques as the card)!

Gorgeous Grunge meets Petite Petals

Hello Crafters,

I have a wonderful card to share with you today, which is not a style that I am confident with, but I absolutely love the outcome. I got some inspiration from Pootles in the UK!

I changed up the colours and added some twine for a bit of extra interest.

Petite Petals

The card base in Rose Red, the next layer is Perfect Plum, then Whisper White. The Gorgeous Grunge splashes are in the coordinating inks, as are the sponged edges of the petals. The flowers were punched out of some Whisper White card stock that I had previously stamped with I Love Lace and embossed in Gold.

Petite Petals2

I then added the Baker’s Twine and the flowers with glue dots.

I stamped the sentiment in Perfect Plum ink.

Petite Petals3

Thanks again to Pootles for the inspiration!
