Masculine Thank You Card

Dear Crafters,

Are you like me and struggle with Masculine cards? Well, I have been on a bit of a roll lately with lots of requests for Masculine cards, and this Wood Textures Designer Series Paper is perfect to use!!!

I have obviously gone for the earthy tones and the Seasonal Layers thinlits are the perfect match, along with some of the burlap ribbon. The sentiment is from the Delightful Daisy stamp set as I wanted a fairly large image to stamp onto the Oval Stitched Shapes framelits die cut.

I love all the layers on this card. What do you think?

Masculine Farewell using Wood Textures DSP & Seasonal Layers Thinlits

Hello Friends,

My project today features the gorgeous Wood Textures DSP and isn’t it stunning?!!

I was asked to make quite a few masculine farewell cards and this is a style that I struggle with immensely, but I actually love this. I saw a similar card by Jo Anne Hewins on Pinterest and went from there.

The Heart of Christmas: Quilted Christmas

Heart of Christmas Stampin Up Art with Heart Team Christmas Inspiration

Hello Friends,

Welcome to Week 24 of The Heart of Christmas: Handmade Inspiration from the Art with Heart team!

My project today is a quick and easy card using the Quilted Christmas DSP. Where, you say? Look at those 3 little Christmas trees. They are cut from the Designer paper!

IMG_6850

The background is embossed using the Quilt Top Embossing Folder. A doily is added, then the oval stitched framelit in whisper white. I stamped the Merry Christmas sentiment, from the At Home with You stamp set (oops, forgot the add that to the product list at the bottom of this post)!

A small piece of the Red Ribbon was attached behind each tree before adding each one to the stitched oval with a dimensional. A rhinestone was added to the top of each tree!

Pretty Kitty

Dear Crafters,

Today I have some more of the cute cards that I started last Thursday while I was in hospital having my infusion. It is a couple of hours of down time, so I often take some stamped images and colour them, making good use of my time. Here are all of the images I coloured!

final (Edited).jpg

I stamped the images with Stazon Black ink onto Watercolour paper and used the Watercolour pencils and the blender pens.

Again, I am also using some of the designer series paper stacks which are retiring and won’t be carrying over into the new catalogue.

Pretty Kitty & bird by Kate Morgan, Independent Stampin Up demonstrator, Australia

This next one I added small strips of gold glimmer paper to the top and bottom edge of the red polka dot paper!

Pretty Kitty by Kate Morgan, Independent Stampin Up demonstrator, Australia Glimmer

I adore these paper doilies and this one below, I covered up the centre of it, so before I glued it down, I cut out the centre of the doilie and that is what is forms the shape of the one to the right. No point covering the whole thing up, may as well use what I can!!!

Not one of these cards has a sentiment, did you notice that?!!! You don’t always need to add a sentiment to a card, sometimes you just want the images to be the focus.

I was very pleased with my watercolouring efforts, especially while sitting in a chair colouring on my lap!

OnStage pillow gifts

Dear Crafters,

Today, I am home resting after a huge couple of days in Sydney for the Stampin’ Up! OnStage Local event which was held at Luna Park!  It was so exciting getting our hands on the brand new Annual Catalogue, and it never fails to impress me, but…. I am still not allowed to share anything from that event until tomorrow.

So, today I will share the pillow gift I made for my room buddy, Sharon and the gift I made for Catherine Proctor, who was so kind and caring and did so much for Sharon and I while we were in Sydney. We can’t thank Catherine enough for all her driving, picking us up from the airport on Friday and taking us to our hotel, then again on the day of the event!

For Sharon, my travel and room buddy, I made the gift box and inside was the earrings and necklace set (Blooms & Bliss DSP) and a little notebook in coordinating colours.

For Catherine, I made this card and coordinating notepad.

I hadn’t actually met Catherine before this event, so I wasn’t sure what to make to thank her, but who doesn’t love hearts, butterflies and pearls, right?!!!!!!

and because Catherine was also our taxi on Friday, I baked her some homemade choc chip cookies to enjoy with her cuppa!

What do you think of these projects?

Don’t forget to come back tomorrow to see some of my display samples from OnStage!!!!

Everyday Hero, Super Mum!

Dear Crafters,

Today I have a Super hero card, but instead of the usual bright primary colours, I have used Sweet Sugarplum and more feminine colours to create a card for the super mum!

super-hero-card-by-kate-morgan-stampin-up-demonstrator-australia-occasions-2017-handmade-feminine-card-diy-2

I love the street scene stamped across the bottom in coordinating ink.

I coloured the image using the Watercolour Pencils and AquaPainter, but I did also use the Wink of Stella clear brush to blend the colour of her cape!

The ruched ribbon was tied to the top in a knot to finish the card off.
