Favourite Retiring Products Blog Hop

art-with-heart-team-blog-hop-logo-currentDear Crafters,

Tonight I am participating in a blog hop along with the super talented ladies in the Art With Heart Team. We thought it would be fun to share some projects using our favourite retiring products from both the 2016-2017 annual and 2017 occasions catalogues!

Select retiring products have discounts of up to 50% off but are only available until sold out. Be sure to place orders before the sun sets on these items on 31 May. You don’t want to miss out – ask me how!

Blog Hops are full circles, so you can start hopping here and then at the end of each post is a link to the next one. There is also a list of participants at the end in case of any broken links. You have come to me from the talented, Rachel Palmieri!

Now let’s get started!

For my first project, I have used my favourite suite, Cupcakes and Carousels!

Carousel Birthday Card using Stampin Up Cupcakes & Carousel Birthday DSP, Up & Away thinlits by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator Melbourne. #Occasions2017 3D

Oh how I love this Designer Series Paper. It is so bright and colourful and definitely in my colours that I really love to work with. Don’t the layers look wonderful?!

The carousel is gold embossed twice. The bottom layer was directly onto the square white card and the second was die cut with the circle die. Not sure if you can see that lovely gold shine?

The cupcakes are stamped and die cut and added with dimensionals.

I cased this from a card I saw browsing Pinterest by Crafty Little Peach.

My favourite products from the annual catalogue would have to be the Papillon Potpourri stamp set. This was the very first Stampin’ Up! stamp set that I purchased in my starter kit and has always been a favourite. I’m not sure I will ever be able to give it up!

In this card, I have also used the retiring Elegant Butterfly punch, Lovely Lace TIEF, the Subtles Designer Series Paper and the Very Vanilla 1/4″ Satin Ribbon.

and those gorgeous mini pearls… they won’t be around any more either, but don’t fear, the packs have been reconfigured and will return in a different format!

This card is the same design as the one above, however, I have used the retiring Happy Hearts TIEF (this really was one of my favs!).

Hexagons & Butterflies

Dear Crafters,

Today I share something which I have never used before…. the Stampin’ Up! Notecards and Envelopes pack!

I have no idea why it has taken me so long to find these and start using them, because if I knew how wonderful they were, I would have been buying them years ago!

In the pack, you get 20 cards and 20 envelopes. The card size is 12.7 x 8.9cm and the envelope is 13 x 9.2cm. They come in Whisper White or Crumb Cake.

CRUMB CAKE NOTE CARDS & ENVELOPES Price: $10.50
Whisper White Note Cards & Envelopes by Stampin' Up!
WHISPER WHITE NOTE CARDS & ENVELOPES Price: $10.50

Anyway, today I have used the white ones along with the stamp sets, Six-Sided Sampler and Gorgeous Grunge. The Six-Sided Sampler Stamp Set and the Hexagon Punch can be purchased as a Bundle, saving you 15%.

Hexagon Six Sided Sampler Stampin' Up!

I stamped the hexagon images onto Whisper White cardstock in Pool Party, Soft Suede and Crumb Cake inks before punching them out with the Hexagon Punch.

Hexagon Six Sided Sampler Stampin' Up!

I also punched out an Elegant Butterfly (Pool Party) and Bitty Butterfly (Gold Glitter).

I stamped the gorgeous grunge splatter image first, then layered the hexagons and the 3 across the centre are added with dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment next before adding the strip of Gold Glitter and the butterflies.

This card was made in 5 minutes and so easy to construct. Why don’t you have a go and purchase some of these notecards and envelopes!

Don’t forget to stamp the inside of your card and the gorgeous coordinating envelope!

Cake in a Box

Dear Crafters,

Today I share something a little different to the usual cards and Project Life creations. I received this little decorative window gift box from another demonstrator to come up with something special. So I got to work and thought about turning it into a different type of card, a card in a box!

Seeing as I had some leftover butterflies from a previous project, I thought I would use them on the top of this cute little box and add some ribbon around the base.

As you know, I love butterflies, and so does my dear friend who turned 50 last week and had her big party on Saturday night, hence why I couldn’t post this sooner!!!! Happy Birthday Lisa, this is for you!

Cake in a box

You may have noticed I called this box a decorative window box? Well it did have a clear window sheet opening at the top but that was going to defeat the purpose of my little creation. Why, you say? well keep reading and you will see why.

Now are you ready to see inside? This is my favourite part!!!!

Cake in a box

I used the Big Day stamp set with Strawberry Slush ink on Crisp Canteloupe card stock and added a small Itty Bitty Flower punch from the Accents Punch Pack with a rhinestone in the centre.

In the box is a cake made from a battery operated tea light candle. The idea is to turn the light on before you hand it over to the recipient, hence why I wanted to cover up the acetate window on the top!

Cake in a box

The inspiration to make this special card in a box was from Terri Suzuki and you can find her tutorial on this by clicking here.

What do you think? Isn’t it stunning?

Here’s a close up with the candle turned on!

I also added some rhinestones around the top of the cake and the base.

I would love for you to comment below with your thoughts on this creation.

Papillon Potpourri Pop-up Card

Dear Crafters,

While I wait for my order to arrive with some new goodies from the Occasions catalogue and FREE Sale-a-bration products, I thought I would go back to a favourite of mine, the Papillon Potpourri Stamp set and coordinating Elegant & Bitty Butterfly punches.

I love butterflies and I think you may find that shows in this card! lol

I watched a documentary the other day which showed masses of monarch butterflies and it was just so unbelievable, that I wanted to recreate that image in my head.

Papillon Potpourri

The base layers were embossed with the new Spring Flowers TIEF. The centre pieces are die cut using the Big Shot and the Labels Collection Framelits then pierced with the piercing tool, mat & Festive Paper Piercing Pack.

Now are you ready to see inside? This is my favourite part!!!!

Papillon Potpourri     Papillon Potpourri

I used the Papillon Potpourri stamps with Memento Black ink then punched each one out.

I added them to the centre piece with Tombo Glue and dimensionals!

What do you think? Isn’t it stunning?

Here’s a close up of the butterfly mass.

Papillon Potpourri

I also added a couple of leaf stems from the Owl Builder Punch and some gold glitter butterflies.

Notice that I haven’t even added a sentiment! It simply doesn’t need one, or maybe it is just too busy with butterflies!

I would love you to comment below with your thoughts on this creation.

Last minute gift ideas

Hello Stampers,

Well Christmas is almost upon us and I haven’t quite finished my Christmas shopping, although it is quite difficult with two young children to shop while they are with you. I only need a few small things to add to their Santa sacks, but of course they cannot see what is purchased or the spirit of Father Christmas will be revealed.

I have made a few more post it note holders for last minute gift ideas.

Aren’t they just adorable? Who wouldn’t want to receive one of these?

Post-it Note Holders

Hello Stampers,

I have been busy making some post-it note holders for Christmas gifts and thank yous. Actually I have made 24 in total so far and here are a few that I made yesterday.

You can make 3 of these from 1 A4 sheet of cardstock, add a little pen and embellish as you like. I love the Gingham Garden DSP and butterflies. I think they are so cheery especially as today is the 1st day of summer and 30 degrees!

Card in a Box Style, feminine, Owl Punch

Explosion Box Card

Morning Stampers,

I want to share with you today, a card that a fellow demonstrator showed us last weekend ~ an explosion box card!

How cool are these?

I am loving this new card style and can see myself creating lots of them over the coming months.

This first one we made for my hubby’s birthday last Wednesday and he was super impressed when he pulled it out of the envelope…. yes you heard right, it folds flat and fits in an envelope!!!!

And you see those little monsters popping up out of the box, they are made with the owl punch!

Explosion Box Card

This next card I made for a dear friend of mine who lives in Tasmania and is a very talented lady, especially with her photography. I couldn’t send her any old card, so I thought she would appreciate something a little more special. I have used the Flower Shop Stamp Set and coordinating Pansy punch and the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set and coordinating punches (Bitty & Elegant Butterfly) to create this one.

Explosion Box Card

I have had some interest in how these are made and so I am willing to do a class to show you just how quick and easy these are to make. If you would like to come along to a class, please comment below what day and times best suit.
