Saleabration, you are amazing!

Dear Crafters,

Today I share a card using one of the Saleabration free products, the Amazing You stamp set. You can earn this for free until 31st March with any qualifying order. Contact me to find out more!

Amazing You by Kate Morgan, Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator, Australia #Saleabration2018

I stamped the floral images in black ink onto Melon Mambo card x 6 and fussy each of them; 3 in full  and 3 of the just the 4 centre petals. I placed these on top with a dimensional behind them and added a clear faceted gem to the centres.

Amazing You by Kate Morgan, Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator Australia #Saleabration2018

I stamped the same floral image in Pool Party onto the white panel two times. Then I used the Emerald Envy and Dapper Denim Stampin’ Write Markers to colour the stamp before stamping it on the edge of the white panel. These were the same colours used for the sentiment.

I stamped the sunshine image onto the base card, before adding the white panel. Then I glued on the flowers and added a piece of white baker’s twine.

Let the Good Times Roll

Dear Crafters,

Today I share with you a card that took a little while to create and understand how it actually worked when putting it together. When you see it, you will be amazed, but I have to admit there was some frustration at the beginning!

I’m using the Let the Good Times Roll bundle in the Occasions catalogue.

I started with an A5 piece of Lemon Lime Twist card stock = 8¼” x 5⅞” folded in half.
The Whisper White insert measures 8″ x 5½”.

Firstly, I will share with you the inside of the card before the front, and you will see why in a second. This is the most amazing 3D pop up card you will have seen in a while!

Let the Good Times Roll Feminine inside

What kid would not get a thrill out of opening this card?!!!! Isn’t it just so cool?!!

This is a 14 piece photopolymer set, so it makes it super easy to line up the stamped images as well as using the coordinating dies to cut them out. I have lots of colours as I think it is such a fun card that screams colour!

Here is the front of the card:

Let the Good Times Roll Feminine

Now a few tips I have found when using this bundle:

  1. use whisper white, not the thick whisper white card, it’s easier to fold the tracks
  2. do not score your white card all the way through. Only score each side about 1/2″, line up the die and then cut, then use a ruler to score across to the edge of the die cut
  3. Score along each edge of the tracks and the bottom edge before trying to fold them
  4. Add an extra layer over the framework of the roller coaster for strength
  5. it will fold flat, you just need patience in the manipulating of the tracks
  6. I made a quick 30 second video to show how it folds flat, view here. (I’m not into making videos, so no instructions with it, lol).
  7. You can also view the YouTube video by Brandi at the Stampin’ Up! home office here to see more about how to create the pop up section!

When you spend $90+ during Sale-a-bration, you get to choose 1 free item from the Sale-a-bration brochure below. Go on, have a look, you know you want to!!!

Birthday, Jan-Jun Mini Catalogue and Sale-a-bration, Kids Cards, Stampin' Up!

Happy Birthday, Panda (Sneak peek)

Dear Crafters,

Today I have the cutest little birthday card with some pandas. Aren’t they just adorable? They are one of the Sale-a-bration stamp sets that you can select for FREE with any $90+ order starting 3rd January!

Birthday card using Stampin Ups Party Pandas & Special Celebrations, Saleabration 2018 by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator, Australia.

You can see the panda in the middle has a shadow, that is because I stamped it and then cut it out and adhered it to the card on dimensionals for a 3D effect. The same with the balloons!

Here’s the sentiment on the inside of the card with another cute panda.

You know when you finish a card and then you pick up the inkpad to close it and you drop it on your project? Argh, well I did that and I was so annoyed with myself. Have you ever done this too?

See this picture below, it was on the front of the card. I had spent so much time on it, I couldn’t bare to throw it away and start again, so I embellished it. Yep, I drew the string by hand and then added another gold glitter balloon!!! Problem solved. Have another look at the finished card and you would never have known ♥

So here is my card for this week using this stamp set.

Heart of Christmas Week 9 using Stampin Ups Carols of Christmas by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator Australia AWHT Handmade card 3D DIY.JPG

I have used Tranquil Tide and Silver as my colour combination for this card.

Those little deer are stamped in Basic Grey on Whisper White, as I originally die cut them in the silver foil, but it was just too much silver!

The sentiment is embossed in Silver and that ribbon is new in the Annual catalogue too. Isn’t it pretty?

The sentiment inside the card is from the Star of Light stamp set and few more die cuts at the bottom. The green piece was on off cut from another project where I used the Lots of Labels Framelits (a full product list is below).

Christmas, Handmade Cards, Stampin' Up!

Heart of Christmas Inspiration, Week 8

Heart of Christmas Stampin Up Art with Heart Team Christmas Inspiration

Hello Friends,

Welcome to Week 8 of the Heart of Christmas: Handmade Inspiration from the Art with Heart team!

My project today uses the new At Home with You stamp set and the coordinating At Home Framelits (purchased together as a bundle, you save an extra 10%)!

Heart of Christmas card using Stampin Ups At Home with You by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator, Australia.JPG

The Brick Wall Textured impressions embossing folder was used to create the background with Crumb Cake card and I sponged the edges and across the grout lines with a sponge dauber and coordinating ink.

Check out the red door? Yes, it actually opens! This is super cool and there is a die in the set that actually creates this. I love the wreath and the holly above the door; it really gives that Christmas feel. I can almost imagine a warm fire glowing inside the door!

The red glimmer paper was punched with the 1/8th Handheld Circle punch and adhered to the little trees with Tombo multipurpose glue. I think these baubles look so pretty in the glimmer! I love the door mat too, which I stamped Merry Christmas in Versamark ink and gold embossed it.

Favourite Retiring Products Blog Hop

art-with-heart-team-blog-hop-logo-currentDear Crafters,

Tonight I am participating in a blog hop along with the super talented ladies in the Art With Heart Team. We thought it would be fun to share some projects using our favourite retiring products from both the 2016-2017 annual and 2017 occasions catalogues!

Select retiring products have discounts of up to 50% off but are only available until sold out. Be sure to place orders before the sun sets on these items on 31 May. You don’t want to miss out – ask me how!

Blog Hops are full circles, so you can start hopping here and then at the end of each post is a link to the next one. There is also a list of participants at the end in case of any broken links. You have come to me from the talented, Rachel Palmieri!

Now let’s get started!

For my first project, I have used my favourite suite, Cupcakes and Carousels!

Carousel Birthday Card using Stampin Up Cupcakes & Carousel Birthday DSP, Up & Away thinlits by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator Melbourne. #Occasions2017 3D

Oh how I love this Designer Series Paper. It is so bright and colourful and definitely in my colours that I really love to work with. Don’t the layers look wonderful?!

The carousel is gold embossed twice. The bottom layer was directly onto the square white card and the second was die cut with the circle die. Not sure if you can see that lovely gold shine?

The cupcakes are stamped and die cut and added with dimensionals.

I cased this from a card I saw browsing Pinterest by Crafty Little Peach.

My favourite products from the annual catalogue would have to be the Papillon Potpourri stamp set. This was the very first Stampin’ Up! stamp set that I purchased in my starter kit and has always been a favourite. I’m not sure I will ever be able to give it up!

In this card, I have also used the retiring Elegant Butterfly punch, Lovely Lace TIEF, the Subtles Designer Series Paper and the Very Vanilla 1/4″ Satin Ribbon.

Butterfly Card using Stampin Up Papillon Potpourri, Elegant Butterfly punch, Subtles DSP, Lovey Lace TIEF by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator Melbourne. 2017 3D

and those gorgeous mini pearls… they won’t be around any more either, but don’t fear, the packs have been reconfigured and will return in a different format!

This card is the same design as the one above, however, I have used the retiring Happy Hearts TIEF (this really was one of my favs!).

Masking Technique with Superman!

Dear Crafters,

Following all the excitement of OnStage, today I am sharing a card that we made at my Masculine class last week.

Masking Technique using Stampin Ups Everyday Hero Superman Masculine card by Kate Morgan Independent Demonstrator Australia

I love the buildings in this stamp set, but having just the one layer of buildings, just didn’t seem to do my card justice, so I added many layers using the masking technique!

Most of the ladies just looked at me as though, “you have to be kidding”, when I showed them what we were about to make, especially with the fussy cutting around the character, but I think they actually were very impressed with their final works!

What do you think of this card?

Succulent Garden Suite

Dear Crafters,

Today I have created a card using the Succulent Garden Suite. I have to say, I was very happy with how this turned out, as it was reasonably quick to create and I can see myself making loads more in this simple, but effective layout. The flower was what took the time, but once you have made one, you can put them together quite fast.

Succulent Garden Suite by Kate Morgan, Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Australia. #occasions2017 DIY 3D Glimmer 1

The succulent is made of 2 of each of the 3 largest petals and 2 of the smaller daisy type dies. I sponged the edges with Rich Razzleberry ink using a sponge dauber. A bone folder was used to curl the edges under before joining the flowers together. I found by putting the flowers together in pairs first and then each of the 4 pairs together to make the one giant flower was the easiest!

Succulent Garden Suite by Kate Morgan, Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Australia. #occasions2017 DIY 3D Glimmer sponged

The Designer Series Paper is double sided, so I cut one piece to be 14.5cm x 10cm, then I cut it through the centre at about 8cm, turned one piece over and joined them together on the card! This is a very quick and effective way to decorate the background. Then I added a strip of glimmer paper over the join.
