Wow, I’m back from Sydney where I attended the in-person OnStage event for demonstrators. It was awesome to catch up with everyone after a 3 year hiatus thanks to Covid, and we got to play with new product and receive a copy of the Jan-Jun Mini 2023. More about this event later, as tonight we focus on our 20th week of the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop brought to you by the Art With Heart team.
These cards are very simple in their design, using the Cottage Wreaths Bundle, but the background scoring is slightly different on each card. The Simply Scored is a fantastic addition to any craft room. Have you ever played with different scoring patterns?
This first one is a cross hatch design. The card base and scored layer are Thick Basic White card with a layer of Gold Brushed Metallic cardstock.
The inside of my card is quite simple with a single layer wreath with a gold foil strip across the centre and a small sentiment in the centre.
The Soft Succulent and Gold Foil Wreath with some Red Festive Pearls for the berries. A Red Glimmer bow is added, because every wreath needs a bow, right?!
This wreath card uses the Cottage Wreaths Bundle from the July-December Mini catalogue. I have stamped the smaller images in a wreath using the Stamparatus and the stamp in the round (SITR) technique. Once the wreath was stamped, the Layering Circles dies cut it out.
How did I create the background? I took a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and on the back, I drew two lines, horizontally and vertically (centred). Place it in the Simply Scored and score the lines from one centre point to the next. Then I added another 3 scorelines at 1/8″ intervals on each side (towards the corners). When complete, turn it over and adhere to the Evening Evergreen card base.
The Layering Circles dies were used to cut the Very Vanilla circles and the scallop circles in Soft Succulent card to coordinate with the stamped fronds in the same colour ink. The holly and sentiment are Evening Evergreen ink and the berries are Poppy Parade ink. The big red bow is cut from Red Glitter paper and some of the Red & Green Festive Pearls were added. The berries also have some Wink of Stella on them for a little extra shine!
Thanks for dropping by. I hope you can join me next week for our second last Heart of Christmas blog hop for 2022!
Please continue to hop and enjoy the wonderful inspiration of my dear friend, Caroline Manwaring.
