Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 30 – Mint Macaron

Initially I created a fancy fold card for this post, but as I began to type, I realised I had used a retired SAB designer paper, oops. I’ll share that card with you tomorrow!

Today’s card is created using a new stamp set, Beautifully Happy, that I received at our recent demonstrator event, OnStage. This stamp set is a Sale•a•bration item that can be earned free with a qualifying order in Jan/Feb 2023. It is a distinktive stamp, meaning it gives a photo realistic style with lot of depth and dimension without needing two or three step stamping.

A Mint Macaron card base with a layer of Gingham Cottage DSP which has been embossed with the Stitched Greenery die through my die cutting Machine. The Framed Florets die is cut in Basic White and Orchid Oasis ink applied with a Blending Brush. A double bow of Orchid Oasis Metallic Woven Ribbon is added with a Glue Dot.

The floral image is stamped in Memento Black ink and coloured with Mint Macaron, Orchid Oasis and Mango Melody inks. I used Paper Snips to fussy cut the image and applied Mini Dimensionals to add it to my card. The sentiment is stamped and fussy cut also and added the same way with Mini Dimensionals. I added Wink of Stella to the flowers (it doesn’t show in the photos). Some Iridescent Rhinestones Basic Jewels are added for some extra sparkle!

On the inside I added a Basic White layer with an offcut of the Stitched Greenery embossed Gingham Cottage DSP.

Sending Smiles, Partial Die Cutting Technique

2022-23 CCBH Logo

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 26 – Highland Heather

Today is the first time I have inked up the Sending Smiles stamp set, I can’t believe it’s taken me so long. With the coordinating dies, it makes it super easy to cut out many of the images as well as this Partial Die Cutting Technique.

Colour Combination - Highland Heather

Taking a piece of Basic White Thick card stock, I stamped the four flowers across the top. Place the coordinating die for each one and hold it with washi tape so they don’t move. Place it on your die cutting machine (ensure it is straight), and move the top acrylic plate so it only covers the top half of the dies.  This ensures only that only the top section will cut. After removing the dies, place it in your Trimmer to cut between the images in straight line to remove the excess card or you can use a craft knife and ruler. I then cut a strip of Gold Metallic Specialty Paper and glued it behind the cut flowers. I then stamped the leaves and extra flowers, some directly onto the card and some die cut to add extra dimension using Dimensionals.

I glued this to an A5 landscape Basic White card, ensuring the gold was against the fold. Now I could trim off the excess at the bottom so it would fit into a C6 envelope. Using the Basic Border die, I cut a strip of Gingham Cottage DSP and glued it to the bottom of the card. The ‘sending’ sentiment is stamped in Versamark ink onto Highland Heather card stock using the Stamparatus, as I like to ink it a couple of times. Sprinkle some Heat & Stick powder over, shake off the excess and melt it with a Heat Tool. Now add some Gilded Leaf and press it on to cover the sentiment. I use a sponge dauber to gently rub off the excess. Cut it out with the coordinating die. ‘Birthday Wishes’ is stamped directly to the card.

You can really see the Gilded Leaf on the sentiment below and the Wink of Stella on the flower centres.

On the inside, I used the left over piece of the Gingham Cottage paper from the front and added it to the bottom of the card, with another stamped flower.

I finished it off with some Glossy Dots Assortment in Daffodil Delight and Gorgeous Grape and the Wink of Stella.

Trimming the Tree cards

2022 Heart of Christmas LogoEach Monday, join me for the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop brought to you by the Art With Heart team. We will be showcasing our July-December Mini catalogue and Annual catalogue Christmas products.

Some things are great on their own but become epic when they are paired with coordinating dies! Tonight I have two cards using the Trimming the Tree Bundle (save 10%). The Trimming the Tree stamp set is already in the catalogue, but the Tree Trimming dies are exclusive to the Perfect Partners promotion and are only available while supplies last during September (they will not be available in future catalogues).

Card 1 – I have added a layer of Gingham Cottage DSP to a Thick Basic White card base. I placed the tree stamp onto the Stamparatus plate and inked it up with Mint Macaron. I also took a sponge dauber and some Garden Green ink and daubed some around the edges before stamping onto Basic White card. Using the coordinating dies, cut out the tree and some of the little bows from 2022-24 In Color Glimmer paper.

The base is die cut from Kraft card. The Fabulous Frames dies were used to cut the 4 corner pieces from Gold Foil. The vellum was run through my Cut & Emboss machine in the Whimsical Woodland 3D Embossing Folder. Doesn’t it look amazing?!

Glue the Gold Foil pieces to the vellum layer and add the tree on dimensionals. Place glue on the back of the vellum behind all the pieces added so it doesn’t show through once dry. Adhere this to the card. I finished off with a Gold & Vanilla Satin edged ribbon bow adhered with a glue dot.

Card 2 – The card base is Evening Evergreen. The patterned paper in the background is from the Lights Aglow Specialty DSP with a piece of Gold Shimmer Ribbon across the join. Adhere this to the card base.

The tree is die cut from a piece of the Gingham Cottage DSP with a Distressed Gold Specialty paper star and basket. The bows are die cut from the 2022-24 In Color Glimmer paper. The sentiment is stamped onto Basic White card in Mint Macaron ink and die cut. The tree and sentiment are added on dimensionals.
