Monthly Creative Showcase – Masculine Theme Cube Card

AWHT Creative Showcase

Monthly Creative Showcase: Masculine Theme

Tonight’s card is a fancy fold Cube Card that is so popular right now. You can find instructions all over the internet to create these.

I have kept mine fairly simple and straight forward with the decorating. The World of Good Specialty DSP has the gorgeous Gold Foil through it, so I didn’t want to go covering it up with loads of embellishments.

This shows yo the hinges on the back of the elements, to give them that floating look on the folds.

A Good Man is very masculine

Tonight I have a masculine card using the stamp set, A Good Man!

A Good Man masculine card by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2019.JPG

I adore these images and just looking at it makes me take a deep breathe and think of relaxing by the seaside, and taking time for ourselves to just breathe.

This is also perfect timing with Father’s Day coming up and the images in this set are just ideal for that special man in your life.

The image is coloured using Stampin’ Blends markers; Pretty Peacock & Seaside Spray Combos and Light Crumb Cake for the skin tones and Light Pool Party framing around the entire image to add some depth.

Here is another one I made with a different image.

Have you made your dad a card for Father’s Day yet? What stamp set did you use?

Colour Creations: Crushed Curry for Father’s Day

AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop

Hello Crafters,

Welcome to another Art With Heart Team Colour Creations weekly Blog Hop. Today we are featuring Crushed Curry!!!

I have paired it up with the Best Route Designer Series Paper. I mean who doesn’t love blues and yellows together, right?!

I have created this fancy fold card, but I have no idea what it would be called. There was no tutorial for it, I just cut up cardstock and made it up on the spot. LOL

I made it for my Father-in-law for Father’s Day and I had it in my mind to get him a Dan Murphy gift card, so this had to have a spot to slide it in somewhere. I also know that he will need to travel 80kms to get to his nearest Dan Murphy store (they live in a rural area), so why not use the Best Route DSP for a bit of fun!

Crushed Curry Colour Creations using Stampin Up Best Route DSP by Kate Morgan Australia 2018

The Stitched Labels framelits were perfect to fit on the front of the card and the sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set, of course stamped in Crushed Curry ink.

Crushed Curry Colour Creations using Stampin Up Best Route DSP by Kate Morgan Australia 2018.

Here it is open – the card base is one piece of A5 card and then the 3 fold flap is one piece (4-1/4″ x 10-1/2″) scored at 3-1/2″ & 7″ and glued to the A5 card. The two smaller pieces of DSP are 3-1/4″ x 4″, as was the yellow piece for the gift card, but I cut the banner shape into it with paper snips and used the excess on the front of the card!

I need to hold it together to post, so I tied some Blueberry Bushel 1/8″ Grosgrain ribbon around and tied it in a bow!

On the back I added a white panel with the embossed image also from the Stitched Labels framelits set.

Head on over to Catherine’s blog where you’ll find the links to all of the participants for this week.

Stay tuned for the start of the Holiday catalogue tomorrow. It is full of exciting product and beautiful pictures of projects. Be sure to request your paper copy today.

Stampin’ Up! Classic Father’s Day card

Hello Friends,

Today I focus on a Masculine card, because here in Australia, we celebrate Father’s Day this Sunday. This card I am sharing with you, was a very straight forward card to create!

To a Classic masculine card using Stampin Ups Guy Greetings by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator Australia. Craft with Kate

The 1-1/4″ Burlap ribbon has retired, but it was the perfect width for behind this circle!

After I photographed this card, I went back and coloured the image with my AquaPainter and some Crumb Cake ink for some extra colour.

I hope you like my card today and I must give thanks to Annette Elliott who I cased it from. Thank you, Annette!

Masculine Birthday Card using Stampin’ Up!s Guy Greetings

Hello Friends,

Who struggles creating Masculine cards for the men in your life? Well, I know I certainly do and so I have made some cards to store away for when I need them!

This card uses the Guy Greetings stamp set in the current Annual catalogue. I quite like these shoes and feel that they can be used for anyone who may be a businessman who wears a suit for their day job, or anyone with a little style! lol

Hello Friends,

While I wait for my new Holiday catalogue goodies to arrive, I have some time to focus on some Masculine cards with Father’s Day coming up next month. What better time to make a start on these before the Holiday catalogue goes live on 1st September and we will forget all about Father’s Day, lol.

Hats off to You, Masculine Open Panel card with tutorial

Hello Friends,

On Saturday at my class, we focused on Masculine cards with Father’s Day coming up next month. This card I am sharing with you today, is an Open Panel Card!

(you may have received a post already about this last week, but I hadn’t finished writing the post and WordPress was playing funny buggers with me, so here it is again, with all the details)!

Masculine Card for Father's Day, Hats off to you using Stampin Ups Guy Greetings by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator Australia. Craft with Kate #cutitnothoardit

The images were stamped onto Very Vanilla cardstock with Smoky Slate ink. We used some of the retired DSP from the Occasions catalogue, as it was perfect for our masculine project. The base card is Basic Gray cardstock.

Masculine Card for Father's Day, Hats off to you using Stampin Ups Guy Greetings by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator Australia. Craft with Kate #cutitnothoardit angle   Masculine Card for Father's Day, Hats off to you using Stampin Ups Guy Greetings by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator Australia. Craft with Kate #cutitnothoardit inside

The card itself was quite simple to create. Here is how I did it:

I began with half an A4 sheet (29.7 x 10.5cm) folded in half. I cut off the bottom panel measuring 5cm (2″). Then I cut it again allowing for a 3.5cm (1-3/8″) gap in the centre of the card.

The large Gray panel measures 6.5cm x 10.5cm, the Vanilla is 6cm x 10cm

The medium Gray panel is 4.7cm x 7cm, the Vanilla is 4.2cm x 6.5cm

The Sentiment Gray panel is 7.5cm x 1.5cm, the Vanilla is 7cm x 1cm

DSP: 10cm x 6cm & 10cm x 4.5cm

Once you have done all your stamping and mounted those pieces onto the Gray matt pieces of cardstock and added your DSP to the top and bottom panels, hold the bottom panel lining it up with the base of the card so you can add the centre panel. Make sure you only add adhesive to the top and bottom sections of this panel. Then add the other two panels to your card. I also added some Vanilla cardstock to the inside of the card and stamped the hats image in the bottom right corner!

Here are two more of this same style card!

Burger & Fries

Dear Crafters,

This weekend we celebrate Father’s Day and this year, we are very fortunate to still be able to celebrate it. My dear dad had a stroke 2 weeks ago, which gave us all a big fright, but thankfully they caught it early and they are saying he will make a full recovery. He is still having some problems, but we are very hopeful that he will be back to his usual happy and fit self in no time.  Keep him in your prayers for me 😉

Anyway, this year I thought I would do some good old punch art (die cutting really) and make a card with something I reckon every dad loves, a burger and fries!!!!

Cards by Kate, Happy Father's Day Burger & Fries Punch Art DIY #stampinup @cardsbykatemorgan

All the layers of the burger are using the Layering Oval Framelits and a slice of cheese!!!!

Cards by Kate, Happy Father's Day, Burger & Fries Punch Art, DIY #stampinup @cardsbykatemorgan

How cool are the fries? I used my crimping tool to create them. Fries aren’t the same unless they are crinkle fries!!!

Cards by Kate, Happy Father's Day Burger & Fries, Punch Art DIY #stampinup @cardsbykatemorgan

And check out the sentiment. I die cut the Happy in real red and stamped the Father’s Day in Versamark and embossed it with Copper Embossing Powder. It is so shiny and looks awesome on the Early Espresso card base.

What do you think of this card?

And did you see my new watermark on my photos? Yes, I am creating these and selling them. Be sure to check them out if you don’t already have one. Click here to order!
