Cottage Rose

2022-23 CCBH Logo

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 33 – Old Olive

This is our final Colour Creations blog hop for 2022, but I hope you will join us again on 4 January 2023 when we return!

Today, I have used the Cottage Rose Bundle with the coordinating Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper. I have gone with some neutrals in Crumb Cake and Early Espresso with Old Olive. All of the feature images are stamped and die cut from Crumb Cake card. The sentiment and main floral image are stamped in Versamark ink, White Emboss Powder added and heat set. I really like using the “Best Wishes” sentiment, as it can be for many occasions; birthday, sympathy, farewell, wedding, etc.

Best Wishes card using Stampin Up Cottage Rose Bundle by Kate Morgan, Australia 2022

I used my Dark Crumb Cake Blends Marker around the edges of the main image so it really stands out! I used a sponge dauber to add Early Espresso ink around the sentiment which is cut using the Double Oval Punch as well as on the tips of the die cut flowers behind the focal image.

The card base is Old Olive. The next layer is a piece of the DSP cut with the largest die in the Stitched Rectangle dies, then I coloured the leaves with the Light Old Olive Blends Marker. I took a Blending Brush and added ink across the whole DSP piece. I inked one side of the Merry Melody 3D Textured Impressions Embossing Folder with Early Espresso, placed the DSP inside and ran it through my Emboss machine. Then I used the dauber to add ink around the edges before gluing to the card base. Some printed Vellum Layering Designs was added to soften the background.

A Silver piece of Simply Elegant Trim was pulled apart to separate all the fibres. This was something that Shelli Gardner (cofounder of Stampin’ Up!) shared with us during our recent demonstrator only event and it’s such a neat trick!

It is really hard to photograph, but you can just see the Wink of Stella on the petals of the largest flower.

Bouquet of Love

Tonight’s focus is on the amazing Bouquet of Love Hybrid Folder which also includes a heart die and sits inside the folder to cut at the same time as embossing the cardstock!!! Yes, it is amazing!

This first card is very dramatic – it started off being a Blushing Bride card, but I found it a little underwhelming. I placed the embossed piece back into the folder and inked the opposite side of the folder with Black Memento ink. Carefully, I closed the folder and ran it back through my machine and wow, what a result. I wanted it a little darker though, so repeated the process and here is the result.

Bouquet of Love Hybrid folder inked by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2022

I glued it to a layer of Basic Black card, which is how I got that black heart in the centre. Then I glued it to the Blushing Bride card. Next I added the gingham ribbon bow, die cut the flowers/leaves and stamped a sentiment. These were all added with Mutipurpose Glue and the ribbon with a Glue Dot. Oops, I just realised that one of the Irridescent Rhinestone Jewels has fallen off the larger flower.

Bouquet of Love Hybrid folder inked by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2022 feature

On the inside, I added a white panel and simply glued the heart to the centre which was the piece that cut out in the first run through the die cutting & embossing machine.

This next card is just simply embossed and die cut and then I placed a piece of the Abstract Beauty Specialty DSP behind the heart. Then I mount this onto a piece of Blushing Bride card. I added a small piece of white ribbon from the top of the heart snd up over the top of the card and adhered it behind before gluing onto the Thick Basic White card base.

I tied a bow with the same ribbon and adhered it with a glue dot. Basic Rhinestone Jewels were the last to be added to finish it off with a bit of bling! The inside was decorated the same as the previous card. I deliberately left a sentiment off this card, as it could be used for so many different occasions from Wedding, Anniversary, Birthday to Mother’s Day!

Elegant Wedding card

Tonight’s card is a Wedding card for my cousin who recently got married. Using the gorgeous Happy Birthday to You stamp set I created this very feminine wedding card. This stamp set can be earned FREE with any $90 order during Sale•a•bration!!!

The embossed background (Parisian Flourish 3D Textured Embossing Folder) adds a touch of elegance for such a special occasion.

The Stitched So Sweetly dies were used to die cut the scallop rectangle in Shimmery White card stock. This gives a gorgeous shimmer to the image when coloured. The image is stamped in Sahara Sand ink and coloured with Stampin’ Blends Markers.

The sentiment is stamped using the Stamparatus with Versamark ink, White Emboss Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool before fussy cutting around it! The Petal Pink 1/4″ (6.4mm) Metallic-edge Ribbon is tied in a bow and added with a glue dot.

Frame with Interchangeable ‘O’

Today I am sharing the project we made at my class on Thursday and the ladies had a great time making them. I allowed them to make up to 5 each and choose their own colours. Below are all the examples I had for them to choose from!

I got the frames from KMart and started by removing the glass. I cut a piece of Whisper White card to 8″x6″ and scored it across the page at every 1/2″. Not sure if you can see that in the photo? I placed this back in the frame, then the glass and the other pieces that it came with before putting the backing piece in. Having the scored lines allowed me to line up the H, M, E, leaving a space for the interchanging ‘O’. These were die cut using the Large Letters Framelits dies. Each of the ‘O’s were die cut using either the Layering Circle Framelits, Layering Ovals Framelits or the Stitched Shapes Framelits dies. Behind the ‘O’ is a magnet glued to the white card. Behind each ‘O’ I have added some Magnet tape.

Under each photo below I will list the decorating products and colours used.

Interlocking Gatefold cards using different designer papers for different looks!

Hello Crafters,

These are some of the cards we made during my class last Thursday. The first card uses the Petal Promenade DSP, it is stunning! This creates a very soft and feminine card with the Smoky Slate and Blushing Bride colour palette.

Interlocking Gatefold Card using Stampin Up Love What You do Petal Parade by Kate Morgan Australia 2018.JPG

The Share What You Love Artisan Pearls coordinate so well with these papers and the Share What You Love stamp set. The flower images are coloured with the Clear Wink of Stella for added shine. This sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set. Wouldn’t this be the perfect wedding card?

The next card is using the Garden Impressions DSP; making a bright and bold Interlocking card.

This is such a fun card to make and I love how different DSPs can make the same style card, look so different.

Celebrate with Cake Soiree

Dear Crafters,

Today I share the 3rd card we made at my class last Saturday using the Cake Soiree Bundle & Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper. Because we had some late cancellations, we ended up with a smaller class, so for this final card, I allowed the ladies to choose their own Designer Paper pattern and colours. I made this first card and then let them get their creativity on!!!!

and here are the class attendees cards:

this first one was made with an engagement in mind (the DSP is the retired, Bundle of Love Specialty DSP)

The ladies were enjoying colouring using the Blender Pens and ink pads, where I showed them how you can get some great shading and depth with the variation of colour, by adding more when needed.

Wedding Bliss

Dear Crafters,

Today I share with you another sneak peek of a new product in the Annual Catalogue. This stamp set is also what I will be showcasing at my next class on Saturday 6th June at 1pm. To view my full list of classes, click here.

This stamp set is called Build a Birthday, but yes, I have changed the theme and made a wedding card from it. This just shows how versatile this set is, and you won’t believe what other things we can make with this stamp set.

This stamp set is photopolymer, so it is completely clear so you can stamp exactly where you want without using the Stamp-a-ma-jig!

Build a Birthday Stampin' Up!

The base card is Basic Black with a layer of Whisper White, then another layer of Basic Black. I stamped the cake stand in Versamark ink directly onto the black card and added some white embossing powder before heat setting it with the heat gun.

The cake layers are strips of washi tape that I have lined up on some white card in layers. I put it onto white card because the washi tape is sheer and it wouldn’t have shown if stuck directly to the black card stock). I cut out the cake indenting between the layers, before adhering to the top of the cake stand. So simple but super effective.

Build a Birthday Stampin' Up!

I added some little gold glitter flowers with glue dots and a rhinestone in the centre of each one, and a gold bow to finish it off.

I absolutely love this set and know that you will too, especially once I share some other projects over the next few months as I am sure to make plenty with this set!

Don’t forget to decorate the inside of your card and the envelope so everything coordinates with a little of the washi tape!!!
