Week 33 – Old Olive
This is our final Colour Creations blog hop for 2022, but I hope you will join us again on 4 January 2023 when we return!
Today, I have used the Cottage Rose Bundle with the coordinating Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper. I have gone with some neutrals in Crumb Cake and Early Espresso with Old Olive. All of the feature images are stamped and die cut from Crumb Cake card. The sentiment and main floral image are stamped in Versamark ink, White Emboss Powder added and heat set. I really like using the “Best Wishes” sentiment, as it can be for many occasions; birthday, sympathy, farewell, wedding, etc.
I used my Dark Crumb Cake Blends Marker around the edges of the main image so it really stands out! I used a sponge dauber to add Early Espresso ink around the sentiment which is cut using the Double Oval Punch as well as on the tips of the die cut flowers behind the focal image.
The card base is Old Olive. The next layer is a piece of the DSP cut with the largest die in the Stitched Rectangle dies, then I coloured the leaves with the Light Old Olive Blends Marker. I took a Blending Brush and added ink across the whole DSP piece. I inked one side of the Merry Melody 3D Textured Impressions Embossing Folder with Early Espresso, placed the DSP inside and ran it through my Emboss machine. Then I used the dauber to add ink around the edges before gluing to the card base. Some printed Vellum Layering Designs was added to soften the background.
A Silver piece of Simply Elegant Trim was pulled apart to separate all the fibres. This was something that Shelli Gardner (cofounder of Stampin’ Up!) shared with us during our recent demonstrator only event and it’s such a neat trick!
It is really hard to photograph, but you can just see the Wink of Stella on the petals of the largest flower.
Thanks for dropping by. I hope you can join me early in the new year on 4 January for inspiration using Pacific Point.

I really like how you coloured the DSP, and added inked detail with the embossing folder, Kate. The focal floral spray is gorgeous … the dark Crumb Cake edging really makes it pop!

So glad you lifted the vellum to let us peek. I was dying to see behind. Such an interesting card with the white embossing.

Amazing card, Kate! I kept looking at the DSP and wondering which pack it was from before I realised you had coloured all the leaves. I love the way you used your Crumb Cake Blends Marker around the edges of the main flower – it is so effective.
