Petal Promenade Gift Bag

Hi crafters,

This small gift bag is made using a piece of 6″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper, inspired by Ronda Wade in the US. She has the most amazing projects on her facebook live page.

I have used the stunning Petal Promenade DSP and fastened it with a tiny paperclip with a big bow tied to it. Inside, I bought my lovely friend some earrings for her birthday and this was the perfect gift wrapping!

You may recognise the envelope which is from the Hugs from Shelli Paper Pumpkin Kit, available now to purchase. I’m not normally a kit buyer, but I actually ordered 3 of these!!!! It comes in this stunning box (which is a keeper in itself).

This elegant, vintage-themed kit evokes nature journals from days gone by. Conceptualised and developed by board chair and cofounder Shelli Gardner for Paper Pumpkin. Includes an exclusive stamp set, paper and crafting materials to create 12 cards (3 cards of 4 unique designs), 12 exclusive, coordinating envelopes, and a Classic Stampin’ Spot. Designer/Patterned/Specialty Papers (DSP), feminine, Flowers, Stampin' Up!, Thank you

Thank You Petal Promenade

Tonight’s card is using some soon to retire products from the Annual catalogue. This stunning Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper is glorious and makes me smile with all all those gorgeous blooms. I can almost smell them!

The colours are also soon to retire, so if you love them too, you need to get them before they are gone. Tranquil Tide, Fresh Fig and Powder Pink are three of the In Colours of 2017-2019. I just love the 3 of them together.

This Dotted Tulle ribbon will also retire and it has been super popular with its softness and dotted pattern. The sentiment is stamped on white card and the 2″ circle punch to cut it out. Then I layered it onto a Fresh Fig Starburst punched piece.

This card is a Trifold card which Ronda Wade shared recently, but I have altered the measurements for our Australian card sizes. You can see how it opens here:

I just love how pretty this paper is, so I didn’t want to cover it up! Even the marble pattern on the inside gives it extra glamour!

I just adore this Petal Promenade Designer Series paper and using the black card, makes it even more dramatic!

How beautiful does it look with the Delicate Lace Edgelit down the right hand side?!!

The Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set was perfect for the sentiment and the flowers stamped in Grapefruit Grove. The Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon was the perfect embellishment to tie it all together.

I added another strip of the designer paper on the inside which shows through the delicate lace edgelit when the card is closed.

Interlocking Gatefold cards using different designer papers for different looks!

Hello Crafters,

These are some of the cards we made during my class last Thursday. The first card uses the Petal Promenade DSP, it is stunning! This creates a very soft and feminine card with the Smoky Slate and Blushing Bride colour palette.

The Share What You Love Artisan Pearls coordinate so well with these papers and the Share What You Love stamp set. The flower images are coloured with the Clear Wink of Stella for added shine. This sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set. Wouldn’t this be the perfect wedding card?

The next card is using the Garden Impressions DSP; making a bright and bold Interlocking card.

This is such a fun card to make and I love how different DSPs can make the same style card, look so different.

AWHT Blog Hop featuring Designer Series Paper

Blog Hop DSP.jpg

Dear Crafters,

Tonight the Art with Heart team are sharing creative projects featuring designer series paper. This month, Stampin’ Up! have a special on designer series paper, buy 3, get 1 free! We hope our blog hop inspires you to get crafting with your designer series paper.

If you’re already hopping, then you just came to me from Cathy Proctor. If you’re just joining, great! Use the “next” button at the end of my post to hop all the way around. Blog Hops are full circles, so you can start hopping here and then at the end of each post there is a link to the next one. There is also a list of participants at the end in case of any broken links.

Now let’s get started!

My first project is a 12″ x 12″ scrapbook page of my eldest daughter when she was only 11 months old. She was already walking and into everything, so we went outside to get some winter sunshine and of course, she went straight for the flowers. So what better paper to use than the Petal Promenade DSP! I’ve paired it up on a base of Fresh Fig with some coloured punch outs of Sahara Sand and Blushing Bride using the Tailored Tag punch. I also added the cat punch and some of the Tea Room copper metallic edged ribbon, tied in a bow. The sentiment is from the Accented Blooms stamp set and the metal rose is from the Share What You Love Embellishment Kit.

My second project is a fancy fold card using the Tropical Escape DSP which coordinates with the Tropical Chic Bundle; Tropical Chic stamp set and Tropical Thinlits dies. It can be found on pages 120-121 of the annual catalogue.

The colours I have used are: Shaded Spruce, Blushing Bride and Soft Sea Foam.

The layering squares framelits added in the diamond formation, adds a new dimension to this fold. As you can see below, the frame is adhered to the left panel of the card and the centre piece is adhered to the right panel and slides underneath to close.

with the card fully open, I have added some stamping to coordinate with the design on the front!

Double Pleat Fold card with Stitched Labels

Dear Crafters,

Today I have a double pleat fold card using the Petal Promenade DSP, but look at that Soft Sea Foam card with the texture… it is created with the new Subtle Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder!

Double Pleat Fold card using Stampin Up Petal Promenade DSP by Kate Morgan, Australia, 2018

  • I began with a piece of DSP measuring 10″ x 5-7/8″
  • Score long edge at 1″, 1½”, 2½”, 3″, 4, 4½”, 5½”, 6″, 7″, 7½”, 8½”, 9″
  • Measure on both of the short sides, mark with a pencil 2½” in from each end, so you have 4 marks in total (See diagram)
  • From these marks cut off each of the corner triangles as shown to the centre scorelines
  • Fold the scorelines as shown in the card sample

I also love the Stitched Label Framelits dies! The sentiment is from the new Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set and stamped in Petal Pink ink on whisper white card. The heart and circle are die cut in Soft Sea Foam and added with dimensionals. A small piece of copper trim has been frayed at either end and adhered with snail.

Pretty Petal Promenade with an Interlocking Gatefold Card

Dear Crafters,

Today I share a feminine card using the gorgeous Petal Promenade DSP. Have you seen these papers? They are actually just like a photo, which is how Stampin’ Up! created them!

I love the softness of the petals and the colouring of these roses, but I also think it may be overpowering as a full layer on a card. So I have cut it into 2 panels to adhere to the front of the card in this fancy fold style.

Petal Promenade DSP with Share What You Love by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia.

It is a gatefold card, but when you open it, the oval layers interlock!

I saw Dawn Griffiths make one of these, but of course I needed to alter the paper sizes for A4, rather than US sizing, so went back to my trusty file to find a gatefold card that I had made many years ago and adapted it.

Here it is open. I have stamped the image again and coloured the petals with the Wink of Stella, the same as the front!

Blog Hop: Casing the 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue with Animal Outings

35650140_10216367116633139_6605810454600089600_n

Dear Crafters,

Tonight the Art with Heart team are sharing creative projects CASED from the annual catalogue. If you would like a copy of the 2018 – 2019 annual catalogue, contact any of the girls on the blog hop and we will get in touch with you.

If you’re already hopping, then you just came to me from the lovely, Kathryn Ruddick. If you’re just joining, great! Use the “next” button at the end of my post to hop all the way around. Blog Hops are full circles, so you can start hopping here and then at the end of each post there is a link to the next one. There is also a list of participants at the end in case of any broken links.

Now let’s get started!

At OnStage in April, we got the Animal Outings stamp set in our bags when we arrived and I couldn’t have been more pleased. I think everyone who attended the event were super excited that we had some Aussie animal friend images.

The other great news once we got our hands on the catalogue, was that there are coordinating framelits so we don’t have to fussy cut each of the images, super exciting! So when 1st June came around, those framelits were first on my order.

I have cased my cards from page 26 of the catalogue.

Animal Outings welcome card, Stampin Up by Kate Morgan, Australia, 2018..JPG

The base card is the new Granny Apple Green with the leaves die cut in Shaded Spruce. The banners are from the Nature’s Poem DSP and that small scallop edge is Blackberry Bliss (a returning colour) cut with the Decorative Ribbon Border punch. I coloured the kangaroo & koala with Stampin’ Blends and popped it up on dimensionals.

Animal Outings welcome card, Stampin Up by Kate Morgan, Australia 2018.

See that little Blackberry Bliss heart? It was actually an extra piece left over when the rhino was die cut and I trimmed it slightly. The sentiment was stamped in Soft Suede ink.

Animal Outings Rhino die_2018.jpg

My next card uses the cute giraffe, again coloured with Stampin’ Blends. I’ve used So Saffron as my card base so the giraffe would stand out more. I’ve also used Crumb Cake and Soft Sea Foam.  I love this die cut background.

Animal Outings Giraffe welcome card, Stampin Up by Kate Morgan, Australia, 2018.

The sentiment was stamped on Whisper White and cut out with the Tailored Tag punch. The branches were coloured with a Blender Pen and inkpads and added with Tombo multipurpose glue.

Animal Outings Giraffe welcome card, Stampin Up by Kate Morgan, Australia, 2018

This last card is cased from page 48 of the catalogue (below) and it is my favourite.

Annual Catalogue Stampin Up 2018 Pg48.JPG

I wanted to make it sweet and feminine, so I have used some of the Petal Promenade DSP and a Pearlised Doilie to soften the tone along with lots of different embellishments.

Animal Outings Rhino & Petal Promenade DSP Stampin Up 2018 by Kate Morgan Australia.JPG

I stamped the rhino image repeatedly across the background of the new colour, Gray Granite, card base in the coordinating ink pad. A banner of the Petal Promenade DSP was glued down over the doilie, then a thin banner of Silver Glimmer paper. The rhino is added with dimensionals.

The Share What You Love Artisan Pearls, White Dotted Tulle and a White Baker’s Twine bow finish it off nicely.
