Memory Keeping Layout with Tea Room Specialty DSP

Dear Crafters,

Today I share a double spread layout of some 12″ x 12″ scrapbook pages using the pretty Tea Room Specialty Designer Series Paper.

This first page fits one photo, 6″ x 4″ on the green mat. I love all the die cut embellishments around the page. The butterfly, flowers and the pretty delicate lace edging above and below where the photo will sit. It all coordinates so well.

Here’s the second page of the double layout with some more pretty embellishments and this one has 3 spaces for 3″ x 3″ photos. I love the celebrate thinlit and the stitched Labels framelit for added embellishments.

AWHT Blog Hop featuring Designer Series Paper

Blog Hop DSP.jpg

Dear Crafters,

Tonight the Art with Heart team are sharing creative projects featuring designer series paper. This month, Stampin’ Up! have a special on designer series paper, buy 3, get 1 free! We hope our blog hop inspires you to get crafting with your designer series paper.

If you’re already hopping, then you just came to me from Cathy Proctor. If you’re just joining, great! Use the “next” button at the end of my post to hop all the way around. Blog Hops are full circles, so you can start hopping here and then at the end of each post there is a link to the next one. There is also a list of participants at the end in case of any broken links.

Now let’s get started!

My first project is a 12″ x 12″ scrapbook page of my eldest daughter when she was only 11 months old. She was already walking and into everything, so we went outside to get some winter sunshine and of course, she went straight for the flowers. So what better paper to use than the Petal Promenade DSP! I’ve paired it up on a base of Fresh Fig with some coloured punch outs of Sahara Sand and Blushing Bride using the Tailored Tag punch. I also added the cat punch and some of the Tea Room copper metallic edged ribbon, tied in a bow. The sentiment is from the Accented Blooms stamp set and the metal rose is from the Share What You Love Embellishment Kit.

My second project is a fancy fold card using the Tropical Escape DSP which coordinates with the Tropical Chic Bundle; Tropical Chic stamp set and Tropical Thinlits dies. It can be found on pages 120-121 of the annual catalogue.

The colours I have used are: Shaded Spruce, Blushing Bride and Soft Sea Foam.

The layering squares framelits added in the diamond formation, adds a new dimension to this fold. As you can see below, the frame is adhered to the left panel of the card and the centre piece is adhered to the right panel and slides underneath to close.

with the card fully open, I have added some stamping to coordinate with the design on the front!

Christmas Scrapbooking

Dear Crafters,

Well, it’s almost Christmas…. only 2 more sleeps until Santa arrives! Who is excited?!!

Today I have my completed scrapbooking pages that I had started and shared with you back in October. You can see that post here.

I have added my photos of my girls making our gingerbread, which has become our family tradition at the beginning of December each year.

Did you also notice the mini calendar? Well, there’s a story behind that!

Each year, I purchase about 25 of these mini calendars to make Calendar Easel Cards and I always have one or two left over. So this year, I have incorporated the individual pages into my scrapbooking pages!!!!

A great idea to use them up without feeling guilty throwing them in the bin. Just circle the date the photos were taken for a quick and fun way to add a date to your page.

And here is another page, this time celebrating my daughter receiving her Green Certificate at swimming, which took over 12 months to achieve. We didn’t think we would ever see this day, so certainly a memorable moment to scrapbook!

What do you think of this neat idea to use up those mini calendars?

Wishing you all a safe and Merry Christmas and I’ll be back on Monday with some new products!!!!

Falling in Love, 12″x 12″

Dear Crafters,

Today I share a 12″ x 12″ traditional scrapbooking layout using some brand new product which will be available in the Occasions 2017 catalogue! But if you can’t wait to get your hands on these stunning new products, why not join my team and you can pre-order these items in December (a whole month before anyone else)!!

As you know, myself and a couple of my team went to Brisbane a few weeks ago for the OnStage Live event for demonstrators. We had a ball and so I had to scrapbook a couple of photos from our time away. It was Kim’s first Stampin’ Up! event and she was totally stunned with the amount of product we received as well as the information shared and new friendships made. We certainly have many memories to giggle about, especially with Bev’s multiple mishaps, from forgetting her boarding pass for the plane, finding out she wasn’t registered when we arrived and losing her sunnies on the last day. She certainly kept us entertained!!!

We would also like to thank Judy (far right) for being our room mate for a few days.

These new designer series papers are called Falling in Love and yes, my favourite Blushing Bride colour makes its appearance. I think they made these papers for me!

The font was printed using my computer using Blushing Bride onto Very Vanilla card!

And the new Very Vanilla ribbon is just beautiful, especially teamed with the Very Vanilla Lace Trim we currently have in the Annual catalogue.

Awww and check out these hot air balloons – yahoo – Up & Away Thinlits dies and they coordinate with the Lift Me Up stamp set.

Blog Hop: Memory Keeping

Dear Crafters,AWHT Logo-001

Welcome to the Art With Heart Team Blog Hop for November. This month we are focusing on Memory Keeping (Scrapbooking/Project Life). We all take photos right? Well, capturing every day moments is so special and we need to document these to cherish. We are all passionate about memory keeping and we want to continue to inspire each other, and you, as we move forward into 2016!

You have come to my blog from the lovely, Kathryn Ruddick.  Blogs are full circles, so you can start hopping here and then at the end of each post is a link to the next. There is also a list of participants at the end in case of any broken links.

Now let’s get started!

This was perfect timing for me to be doing Memory Keeping, as we have just returned from a driving holiday through Victoria and NSW. We left Melbourne on a dreary day, but the sun was shining by the time we made our way down the coast to Lakes Entrance! Now, I have to be upfront by saying that I do not find scrapbooking a natural thing for me. I really struggle with layouts, embellishing my pages, etc. I also dread my own handwriting, but I know I need to add some. You will see a bit of handwriting, along with some typed cards printed from the computer! This page also includes a map which was cut out of the brochures we collected along the way.

Lakes Entrance #stampinup

Don’t worry, I won’t bore you with our entire trip, so next up we skip to the gorgeous Blue Mountains. Here I have added some stamping on the card with the Bordering Blooms set and coloured with the Stampin’ Write Markers, as well as a journalling card from the Everyday Adventures Project Life Card Collection.

Blue Mountains #stampinup

The wild flowers in the Blue Mountains were stunning and I made this whole page about the wonders of the bush land. The title card is printed and then stamped with the Awesomely Artistic and You’ve Got This stamp sets. I loved these bright red Waratah’s!

Blue Mountains flowers #stampinup

This was our first day at the Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo. This was the highlight of our trip, and being such a large zoo, we hired a cart for a few hours to buzz around in. It was so much fun and the girls enjoyed that as much as all the animals. This page is still using the Project Life Photo Pocket pages, which I find makes Memory Keeping much quicker and easier to do.

Taronga Zoo Dubbo #stampinup

One of the highlights was staying at the Zoofari Lodge within the grounds of Taronga Western Plains Zoo, Dubbo. Not only was our little lodge the best quality, but we got to go and do some behind the scenes tours in the evening (after dinner) and the following morning (before breakfast), which you don’t get to do unless you stay! Both those meals were included as well!

Zoofari Lodge #stampinup

Our lodge overlooked the Savannah, so we certainly made the most of sitting, watching and enjoying the views!

Taronga Western Plains Zoo Dubbo #stampinup

My next layout is a special one of my eldest daughter who is a lover of all animals, but especially loves the giraffe and couldn’t believe her luck when we were able to feed them! This is a traditional scrapbook page using Tip Top Taupe, and the coordinating Go Wild DSP (perfect for this layout).

Taronga Zoo Dubbo Giraffe Feeding #stampinup

Here is my final page for today. I bet you are saying, phew!!! My husband took this photo without us knowing, as I sit with my girls on the deck of our lodge, watching the majestic giraffe wander across the Savannah. We could have sat there all day long!!!

Project Life

Dear Crafters,

Today I want to share with you some of the Project Life (memory keeping) that I have been working on. I haven’t completed the journalling, as I will do that once I have shared the pictures with you. I don’t think you need to know every little bit of our personal lives!

Project Life is a method for preserving personal and family history in the form of a scrapbook, but with the simplicity of the card system and divided pages, makes it so much easier and quicker to put your pages together. It is so meaningful to be able to have these precious memories of special moments in our life!

I am sharing ‘some’ pages from this year (as I don’t want to bore you with my life) so here we are starting with January and a day at Brighton Beach and first day of school and kinder!

Project Life

Then we skip to Easter and the Easter Bunny found us!

Project Life

Then a mini-break to Adelaide in May (this one has a journalling card I made!)

Project Life

My nephew was born 3 weeks early but was a very exciting time in September

Project Life

followed by school holidays later in September, when we took the girls fishing for the first time! This one has some jouralling, but not sure if you can read it?

Project Life

October we went to my all time favourite musical, Les Mis (a birthday gift from my hubby!)

Project Life

Capturing memories has never been easier with the launch of Project Life by Stampin’ Up! so time to get scrapbooking!

I have used the Everyday Adventure Project Life Card Collection and Accessory Pack. The Card Collections come in a sturdy cardboard box which also has space to store your journaling pens. Each card collection has 100 double-sided, color-coordinated cards per collection in 3 sizes: 4″ x 6″, 4″ x 4″, and 3″ x 4″. It is also in Stampin’ Up! coordinating colours, eg. Basic Black, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzazz, Pumpkin Pie, Strawberry Slush, Whisper White.

Digital Scrapbooking

Hello Crafters,

My photographs have been left to sit on the computer or in packets in cupboards, for long enough now 😦

I really needed to get stuck into some scrapbooking!!!! YAY!!!

I began with some 12″ x 12″ pages, but was finding it a little overwhelming, so I went back to the computer and opened up My Digitial Studio (MDS).

I only went back as far as 2011 (but to be honest, I have only done one years worth of my oldest daughter who is about to turn 8 this year!)

Below are a few pages I have done and I will be sure to share more with you over the following weeks!

Here is a page of my youngest daughter who used to pull the funniest faces when the camera came out ~ and you know what, until I looked at these photos again, I had already forgotten about this!!!!

MDS Scrapbooking

Here my girls are in the backyard with a “friend” from kinder!

MDS Scrapbooking

and here is their birthday party from that year ~ yes, the movie Rapunzel was a huge release here and that was all they wanted me to make for their birthday (I have deliberately blotted out faces to protect identity).

MDS Scrapbooking

You too can create some wonderful layouts in MDS.

You can also do a combination of digital and traditional scrapbooking because as you know, Stampin’ Up! colours, papers, embellishments all coordinate!!!!
