Dear Crafters,
Welcome to the Art With Heart Team Blog Hop for November. This month we are focusing on Memory Keeping (Scrapbooking/Project Life). We all take photos right? Well, capturing every day moments is so special and we need to document these to cherish. We are all passionate about memory keeping and we want to continue to inspire each other, and you, as we move forward into 2016!
You have come to my blog from the lovely, Kathryn Ruddick. Blogs are full circles, so you can start hopping here and then at the end of each post is a link to the next. There is also a list of participants at the end in case of any broken links.
Now let’s get started!
This was perfect timing for me to be doing Memory Keeping, as we have just returned from a driving holiday through Victoria and NSW. We left Melbourne on a dreary day, but the sun was shining by the time we made our way down the coast to Lakes Entrance! Now, I have to be upfront by saying that I do not find scrapbooking a natural thing for me. I really struggle with layouts, embellishing my pages, etc. I also dread my own handwriting, but I know I need to add some. You will see a bit of handwriting, along with some typed cards printed from the computer! This page also includes a map which was cut out of the brochures we collected along the way.

Don’t worry, I won’t bore you with our entire trip, so next up we skip to the gorgeous Blue Mountains. Here I have added some stamping on the card with the Bordering Blooms set and coloured with the Stampin’ Write Markers, as well as a journalling card from the Everyday Adventures Project Life Card Collection.

The wild flowers in the Blue Mountains were stunning and I made this whole page about the wonders of the bush land. The title card is printed and then stamped with the Awesomely Artistic and You’ve Got This stamp sets. I loved these bright red Waratah’s!

This was our first day at the Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo. This was the highlight of our trip, and being such a large zoo, we hired a cart for a few hours to buzz around in. It was so much fun and the girls enjoyed that as much as all the animals. This page is still using the Project Life Photo Pocket pages, which I find makes Memory Keeping much quicker and easier to do.

One of the highlights was staying at the Zoofari Lodge within the grounds of Taronga Western Plains Zoo, Dubbo. Not only was our little lodge the best quality, but we got to go and do some behind the scenes tours in the evening (after dinner) and the following morning (before breakfast), which you don’t get to do unless you stay! Both those meals were included as well!

Our lodge overlooked the Savannah, so we certainly made the most of sitting, watching and enjoying the views!

My next layout is a special one of my eldest daughter who is a lover of all animals, but especially loves the giraffe and couldn’t believe her luck when we were able to feed them! This is a traditional scrapbook page using Tip Top Taupe, and the coordinating Go Wild DSP (perfect for this layout).

Here is my final page for today. I bet you are saying, phew!!! My husband took this photo without us knowing, as I sit with my girls on the deck of our lodge, watching the majestic giraffe wander across the Savannah. We could have sat there all day long!!!

Thank you for visiting today.
