Colour Creations: how about Early Espresso for Christmas?!

AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop

Welcome to another Art With Heart Team Colour Creations weekly Blog Hop. Today we are featuring Early Espresso!!!

I have made a Christmas card, which I guess is a strange option using Early Espresso, but I think it actually works quite well, as I have used lots of metallic embossing that screams Christmas to me!

Star of Light with Stampin Ups Tin Tile TIEF by Kate Morgan Australia 2018.JPG

The Star of Light stamp set and coordinating framelits can be found in the Annual Catalogue and are still a wonderful option along with the Holiday catalogue.

Don’t you just love all the shine of the metallics on this card?

I used the Tin Tile Embossing folder with some Copper Foil before I sponged some Early Espresso ink onto it. I then sprinkled on some Gold Embossing Powder in small sections and heat set it. I repeated this process with the Silver and then the Copper Embossing Powders and finished with some Clear Embossing Powder over the Early Espresso ink that may not have been covered, otherwise it would rub off.

The star was die cut in Early Espresso card and the smaller fancy die in Copper foil.

Look at just how shiny this background is!!! So pretty. The sentiment was stamped in Versamark ink and copper embossing powder. I used my paper snips to create the banner, but you could also use the Triple Banner Punch. I send Christmas cards to some of my friends who are male and live alone, so this is the perfect card choice for one of them this Christmas!

Peace on Earth

Dear Crafters,

Whoa, can you believe it’s only 10 days until Christmas?!!!!

On Monday I shared some quick and easy Christmas cards, and this is another one using similar products, but instead I’m using the Carols of Christmas stamp set.

Some glimmer paper is added a a banner behind the sentiment for some Christmas sparkle and the enamel embellishments are actually left over from last years catalogue, but are the perfect accents.

The inside of the card is stamped with the sentiment from the Star of Light stamp set. A strip of Silver glimmer paper is added at the bottom.

Quick cards so close to Christmas!

Dear Crafters,

Who can believe it is already mid-December? Not me and I am not ready for Christmas to  be here just yet. So I still want to share some of my quick and easy cards for those who still haven’t had time to make them. I’m using the Quilted Christmas DSP and the Merry Little Labels stamp set.

These cards are basic cutting, stamping and layering.

The Heart of Christmas; Handmade Inspiration from the Art With Heart Team, Week 5

Heart of Christmas Stampin Up Art with Heart Team Christmas Inspiration

Dear Crafters,

Welcome to Week 5 of the Heart of Christmas: Handmade Inspiration from the Art with Heart team!

My card today uses the Star of Light stamp set and the Starlight Thinlits with the Shaving Cream Technique!

Heart of Christmas Card with Shaving Cream Technique using Star of Light & Starlight Thinlits by Kate Morgan, Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator, Melbourne Australia

This is a super messy technique, but I love how different every card is when you wipe off the shaving cream! Here I have used Sweet Sugarplum reinker in the cream, with the Shimmery White cardstock for a little extra sparkle! 🙂

When it was dry, I then stamped the star background and the sentiment in the Sweet Sugarplum ink.

The gold glimmer paper was die cut and added with our new mini dimensionals, and boy are they mini, not so good for these numb hands to handle!!!! I also added some of the Gold Metallic thread behind.

Christmas, Stampin' Up!

The Heart of Christmas

Heart of Christmas Stampin Up Art with Heart Team Christmas Inspiration

Dear Crafters,

Do you know it is only 26 weeks until the end of November? Yes, how scary is that?!!!

So, because every year Christmas comes around so quickly, our Art with Heart team leader, Claire Daly, has decided on a weekly Wednesday post of handmade Christmas inspiration; cards, tags and other projects, and she has asked us to join her. By the time Christmas comes around, we won’t be so overwhelmed and we will have a nice little stash of cards organised prior to the silly season!!!

I know the new 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue launched last Thursday, but there are so many great Christmas stamps in there and the 2017 Holiday Catalogue will be available in September to add even more goodies to our cause.

My card today uses the Lovely as a Tree stamp set, which has been one of the longest standing stamp sets in the South Pacific catalogues since Stampin’ Up! came to Australia and it is perfect for Christmas cards!

Merry Christmas card using Lovely as a Tree and Star of Light by Kate Morgan, Independent Stampin' Up! Demostrator, Australia

I am loving Tranquil Tide with Gold and Very Vanilla as a colour combo and I can see myself using this for many more Christmas cards!

Christmas, Handy Tips, Memory Keeping/Project Life/Scrapbooking, Stampin' Up!

Christmas Scrapbooking

Dear Crafters,

Well, it’s almost Christmas…. only 2 more sleeps until Santa arrives! Who is excited?!!

Today I have my completed scrapbooking pages that I had started and shared with you back in October. You can see that post here.

I have added my photos of my girls making our gingerbread, which has become our family tradition at the beginning of December each year.

Did you also notice the mini calendar? Well, there’s a story behind that!

Each year, I purchase about 25 of these mini calendars to make Calendar Easel Cards and I always have one or two left over. So this year, I have incorporated the individual pages into my scrapbooking pages!!!!

A great idea to use them up without feeling guilty throwing them in the bin. Just circle the date the photos were taken for a quick and fun way to add a date to your page.

And here is another page, this time celebrating my daughter receiving her Green Certificate at swimming, which took over 12 months to achieve. We didn’t think we would ever see this day, so certainly a memorable moment to scrapbook!

What do you think of this neat idea to use up those mini calendars?

Wishing you all a safe and Merry Christmas and I’ll be back on Monday with some new products!!!!

Christmas, Stampin' Up!

Copper Star

Dear Crafters,

Today’s card is all about the new Star of Light Bundle.

I adore the copper coordinating with the Night of Navy and white stars in the background!

star-of-light-christmas-2016-diy-stampinup-cardsbykate

The sentiment was stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with copper.

star-of-light-christmas-2016-diy-stampinup-cardsbykate  star-of-light-christmas-2016-diy-stampinup-cardsbykatemorgan

The stars background was inked with White Craft ink but stamped off before applying to the Night of Navy card.

star-of-light-copper-christmas-2016-diy-stampinup-cardsbykate  star-of-light-copper-christmas-2016-diy-stampinup-cardsbykate

I die cut some vellum with the full star before die cutting the copper foil sheet with the intricate die. Then I glued them together and added it to the card with dimensionals.

I just love how shiny that copper foil is!!!
