Week 26 – Melon Mambo

Tonight I have a little sneak peek of a new stamp set available in the 2022 Mini Catalogue, called In the Moment Cling Stamp Set.

In the Moment stamp set for Melon Mambo CCBH by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021

The main image is stamped in Black Memento ink and coloured with Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers. I stamped the image again onto some patterned paper (the same piece as the scalloped frame), fussy cut it and glued it to the stamped image. This technique is called Paper Piecing. Once this was done, I felt it needed a lovely blue sky, so I used the Blending Brushes with the Pool Party ink and the cloud shape from the Basic Borders dies to create the sky. I continued this to the bottom of the white card, as this lady is on a top balcony of a Gold Coast highrise apartment on holidays, enjoying a 5 o’clock wine (are you with me?!!) I think all this time in lockdown has me yearning for a holiday 😉

This is the inside with more clouds at the top, a sentiment and some scalloped edging at the bottom using the two patterned papers and the Scalloped Countours dies.

Are you loving Counting Sheep?!

Today’s project features two of the Saleabration items that can be selected free with qualifying orders, and the best part is, they coordinate!!! The Counting Sheep stamp set and the Sheep dies to cut them out and the extra fence, sun, balloon, clouds, flag and party hat!

Counting Sheep Cling Stamp set (156591) Saleabration 2021   Sheep Dies (156600) Saleabration 2021

Here is my card – I’ve used the Basic Borders Dies to cut the clouds (Basic White) and the rolling hills (Mint Macaron). The Blending Brushes adds some extra colour to the hills, using Mint Macaron and Pacific Point inks. The sky is also coloured with the Blending Brushes and Pacific Point ink.

The Balloon is die cut on Poppy Parade card, the sun and party hat on Daffodil Delight card. The hat is stamped first with the Pacific Point ink and the dots coloured with Wink of Stella. The sheep is stamped in Gray Granite ink, but I stamped off once for a lighter shade!

CCBH Bumblebee – Pierced Blooms in a natural arc

CCS Logo 2021-22

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

A blog hop, also known as blog hopping, is to move from one blog to another, continuing in a full circle to read all the posts by participants in the hop. At the end of each post will be a link to continue to the next blog!

Week 7 – Bumblebee

I really love the layout of this card, its simplicity, but also the natural wood textured paper (In Good Taste DSP – which is on sale this month)!

Pierced Blooms & Basic Borders Dies card for CCBH Bumblebee by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021

The Thick Basic White card was die cut using the Basic Borders die to create that gorgeous stitched curve. Two pieces of A6 DSP were glued together and placed behind the curve to create the card front. By doubling up the DSP, it not only made it more sturdy, but the inside compliments the front of the card! Just Jade and Magenta Madness are the other two card stocks for the floral images. The sentiment is stamped in Bumblebee on some scrap card and die cut using the die from the Pierced Blooms dies. While the card is still in the die, turn it over and use the stylus from the Simply Scored to run around the inside edge. This gives that gorgeous raised edge around the sentiment!

To create the splatters, I placed some Bumblebee ink onto an acrylic block and squeezed my Wink of Stella into it, to make it juicy then tapped it against my fingers to get the splatters, of course with an extra glitter effect.

I made some faux resin dots with a hole punch and some fine tip glue.

On the inside you can see the same DSP as the front. I also added two small different size strips of card for extra colour and some more Stitched Blooms!

I saw this idea from The Paper Papillon and decided to case it but changed up the colours and papers to make it my own.

CCBH Balmy Blue – Feminine Hats Off

Week 2 – Balmy Blue

The Hats Off stamp set and coordinating dies are fantastic value at only $61. Not only can you create masculine cards for the men and boys in your life, but you can create feminine cards too!

Tonight I have made a feminine version in Balmy Blue, Gorgeous Grape and Basic White.

Colour Combination - BB GG BW

Stamping the stars directly on the card base in Gorgeous Grape ink creates some interest. The top section is the 6″ x 6″ Subtles DSP in Balmy Blue, that I cut down to A6 size then die cut it with the Basic Borders Dies. Keep the offcut piece for the inside of the card!

Hats Off Bundle for Balmy Blue CCS by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021.

The hat is stamped and die cut and then the brim is bent up gently along the scoreline to give that realistic look of a cap. Place dimensionals only behind the hat (not the brim) and add to the card.

On the inside I stamped the Happy Birthday using the images from the Biggest Wish stamp set and added the DSP offcut from the front piece. I die cut a small hat in Balmy Blue to add to the corner.
