Sneak Peek of 2022 Mini catalogue product, In The Moment!

CCS Logo 2021-22

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 26 – Melon Mambo

Tonight I have a little sneak peek of a new stamp set available in the 2022 Mini Catalogue, called In the Moment Cling Stamp Set.

In the Moment stamp set for Melon Mambo CCBH by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021

The main image is stamped in Black Memento ink and coloured with Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers. I stamped the image again onto some patterned paper (the same piece as the scalloped frame), fussy cut it and glued it to the stamped image. This technique is called Paper Piecing. Once this was done, I felt it needed a lovely blue sky, so I used the Blending Brushes with the Pool Party ink and the cloud shape from the Basic Borders dies to create the sky. I continued this to the bottom of the white card, as this lady is on a top balcony of a Gold Coast highrise apartment on holidays, enjoying a 5 o’clock wine (are you with me?!!) I think all this time in lockdown has me yearning for a holiday 😉

This is the inside with more clouds at the top, a sentiment and some scalloped edging at the bottom using the two patterned papers and the Scalloped Countours dies.

Plaid Tidings with Paper Piecing Bow

Plaid Tidings patterned paper is another of the packs that is on sale this month and tonight I have teamed it up with the reindeer image from the Warm & Toasty stamp set and includes some Paper Piecing!

The bow on this reindeer, I coloured with a Black Stampin’ Write Marker direct to the stamp and stamped it into the centre of this plaid piece of paper. I cut out a small square just around the image with my trimmer (the oval is placed over the top to hide the hole) then neatly cut around the edges of the bow. Using the marker, I ran it around the edges to make the sides black, so when it’s glued to the reindeer, it looks like one piece. The reindeer is coloured with Stampin’ Blends Markers.

I added a little Wink of Stella to the antlers, hooves and nose. The oval is popped up on dimensionals.

Don’t forget to add some patterned papers to your October order!

My Easter projects tonight have a heavy focus on the soon to retire In Colours 2017-2019.

Stampin’ Up! 2017-2019 In Colours

craftwithkate.com

I adore the Fable Friends stamp set and just had to use it for my Easter projects. This card is created using the paper piecing technique. This is where you stamp onto some pretty designer paper and then cut sections of it out and glue to another stamped image. You can see I’ve done it with the ducks jacket and top of her hat! I used the pretty Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper. I love the Rectangle stitched framelits and the Silver Glimmer edging was cut with the Decorative Border Punch. The sentiment is created using the Well Said stamp set and coordinating Well Written framelits (purchase these together as the bundle to save 10%).

Easter Blog Hop with Fable Friends Occasions 2019 by Kate Morgan Stampin Up, Australia..jpg

Here’s a closer look!  I used my Blender Pen with the inkpads to add some Gray Granite to her feathers, Pineapple Punch for her beak and feet and Powder Pink for the hat and ribbon around her neck. The grass is stamped with Lemon Lime Twist and then I sponged some of the same colour using a sponge dauber. I also did this for the sky with Balmy Blue ink.

My next project is a Divided Gift Box with 3 sections in it and a window in the top to entice you inside!  The tag was simply created using the Well Said bundle as used in the first project. I had to tie some of this gorgeous variegated ribbon around it too.

Divided Easter Treat Box by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia..JPG

Ooh and look what’s inside?!!! I mean, who doesn’t love a little chocolate treat at this time of year?!!!

Beautiful You in Delicate Details

Dear Crafters,

First of all, I want to wish my mother in law, Bev a very happy 70th birthday today. We all hope you have an amazing day and look forward to celebrating it with you at Easter time!!!

Today I have another card using the Delicate Details stamp set coordinated with the Beautiful You stamp set.

beautiful-you-in-delicate-details-by-kate-morgan-independent-demonstrator-australia-occasions2017-paper-piecing-technique-1

I love how you can manipulate the photopolymer stamps, by bending them into a different position on the clear blocks to create a different look. Here I have taken the straight lace border and curved it onto the block. I used clear Versamark ink and sprinkled it with gold embossing powder before heat setting it.

The female image was stamped twice, the second onto designer series paper which I fussy cut and glued on top of the first image. This is called Paper Piecing. I die cut the image using the oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits and added it with dimensionals.

Kiss Goodbye to MS

Dear Crafters,

Today I have created a card that is a subject very close to my heart literally, as it is the demon that I live with every day, Multiple Sclerosis. Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a condition of the central nervous system, interfering with nerve impulses within the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves. It is characterised by sclerosis a Greek word meaning scars. These scars occur within the central nervous system and depending on where they develop, manifest into various symptoms.

I was first diagnosed in 2004, so I have been dealing with it for many years and up until the past couple of years I was doing fine. I will now embark on a change of treatment to monthly infusions, so I depending on how my body takes them, I may not be able to post quite as often as I would like, but please stay with me, as my craft and family is what keeps me going!!!

Today, I have a card which has the slogan “Kiss Goodbye to MS”. An initiative of MS Research Australia, the mission is to accelerate Australian research targeting the prevention, better treatments and a cure for MS.

The minute I saw the stamp set, Sealed with Love, I noticed the lips and knew I had to have this set to create my own cards for MS. It also had the word KISS, which is perfect for my sentiment. The black font I printed from my computer.

And check out my Everyday Hero wonder woman, she just says to me, we can beat this disease and it’s not going to define who we are!

Don’t forget to decorate the envelope and the inside panel!

Paper Piecing

Dear Crafters,

Today I have created a card using the Paper Piecing Technique, not to be confused with the Paper Piercing Technique!

paper-piecing-technique-using-stampin-ups-youve-got-this-blooms-bliss-dsp-by-kate-morgan-independent-demonstrator-melbourne-front

This technique is quite easy, but you need to like fussy cutting!!!!

I stamped the floral image onto the chosen Designer Series Paper and then fussy cut out the flowers petals with Paper Snips. I did the same for the leaves, but onto a different designer paper.

Stamp the image again (stem) onto your Very Vanilla card and then glue the fussy cut pieces over the top.

I added the cute little ribbon bow, using some of the metallic ribbon that I got for FREE during Saleabration when I placed a $90 order!!!

What do you think of this striking project?

Paper Piecing with Beautiful You

Dear Crafters,

Today I have another card using the Beautiful You stamp set but I’ve only stamped the top part of the stamp and altered the dress!

paper-piecing-falling-in-love-with-stampin-ups-beautiful-you-by-kate-morgan-independent-demonstrator-melbourne-occasions2017

I love this Falling in Love Designer Series paper and with this lace pattern, it just reminded me of a gorgeous lacy dress, so I created a larger dress for this image!

I even paper pieced the hat!

Skater Girl

Dear Crafters,

Today I share with you a card I was commissioned to make for a work colleague who requested a card for her daughter who loves skateboarding!

Here’s what I came up with:

IMG_4644

To begin, I stamped the skateboard from the Skating By stamp set and then the female figure from the Hey Girl stamp set.

I coloured the images with Copic markers, but stamped the female image onto some Brights Collection DSP and cut out the dress only and glued it on the stamped image for a pretty patterned dress! What a clever idea, hey!!!

IMG_4646

The balloon was also stamped onto DSP and cut out using the Balloon Bouquet punch, then added with a dimensional.

IMG_4645

Don’t forget to add am image to the inside of the card and coordinate the envelope to match. I thought this cute floral image was perfect.
