Encircled in Beauty Christmas Bauble

Heart of Christmas Blog Header 2021

Each Monday evening until December, I am taking part in the Heart of Christmas blog hop showcasing our amazing range of holiday products from the Annual and July-December Mini catalogues. Please hop along and enjoy some fabulous inspiration from our talented team!

Tonight I am using the Encircled in Beauty dies to create my Christmas bauble.

Encircled in Beauty Christmas Bauble by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021

Using the various dies in this pack, I alternated the sizes between Basic White and Silver Foil (the purple toned sheet).  There is also one of the Wonderful Snowflakes behind the sentiment layer, can you spot it?!!

The sentiment is from Peaceful Deer stamp set and is stamped in Smoky Slate ink to coordinate with the card base. I used a Sponge Dauber to add ink around the edges of the patterned paper layer, Whimsy & Wonder Specialty Designer Series Paper. The Soft Succlent ribbon tied in a double bow with some Genial Gems finished my project off beautifully.

CCBH Gray Granite – Plentiful Plants

CCS Logo 2021-22

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 21 – Gray Granite

Tonight I am using the Plentiful Plants Bundle which I got for my birthday recently! I don’t have any of the patterned papers that coordinate with it, but I found some leafy designs in the Christmas papers, Painted Christmas DSP that was perfect, along with the In Good Taste DSP.

The macrame hanging basket was die cut using the In Good Taste DSP. The same pattern is in the background across the card. The pot is stamped in Gray Granite ink and the plants in Soft Succulent ink. The scallop border die is from the Contours dies, set to be a firm favourite!

The sentiment is stamped in Versamark ink, White Emboss Powder added and heat set with my Heat Tool. I added a gorgeous Soft Succulent Open Weave Ribbon bow and In Color Jewels.

On the inside, I added some more coordinating plants in a plant stand in the bottom corner.

CCS – Nothing’s Better than Chocolate!

AWHT Colour Creations Showcase

Tonight’s Stampin’ Up! colour for our Colour Creations Showcase is Crumb Cake!

Nothing’s Better Than Chocolate during lockdown 2.0, so tonight I have a yummy card to share with you!

Nothing's Better Than Chocolate card by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2020 Colour Creations Showcase Crumb Cake

Whether you like dark, milk, white or some other variety, there is usually some flavour that you can enjoy when it comes to chocolate. Well, my preference is dark, but this card features more of a Top Deck style block! Using Soft Suede and Crumb Cake for my chocolate layers and the Dainty Diamonds TIEF to give a bit of a classy and more exclusive effect to my block. Every piece of card to create this chocolate has been sponged around the edges to give a real depth to it. Yes, it took some time, but it is so much more effective and pleasing on the eye.

The inside is also decorated with a piece of chocolate as well as some stamping and more layered die cutting!

The piece of foil adds to the authenticity of a real block of chocolate being ripped open.

Stamparatus Storage with Monogram Tag

Dear Crafters,

I’m popping in this morning for this brief post, as I’m heading to Sydney this morning for the OnStage event tomorrow at Luna Park!

I won’t be able to share all the excitement until Tuesday when the spoiler alert ban is lifted, but I’m certain there will be lots of new product and gorgeous goodies in the upcoming Annual catalogue, a copy of which I will get my hands on tomorrow!

Today I share something I have created for Bev who is going to Sydney with me. We usually make swaps (card fronts) to take to these events to swap with other demonstrator friends, but I completely ran out of time with work being so busy and with Easter on top of that 😦

You may remember I posted earlier in the week with a different form of storage for the Stamparatus to sit on your desk, you can see it here if you missed it, but today I have this idea for travelling with your Stamparatus!

Luckily I managed to get my hands on a couple of these toiletry bags from Kmart which are the perfect size and storage idea to fit our new Stamparatus. I’m guessing there will be many others who rush out and purchase one, and they only come in black, so I needed to find a way to make them our own, and what better way than with a Monogram tag!

Shrink plastic Monogram tag for Stamparatus storage using Stampin Up Large Letters, Bloomin Love by Kate Morgan, Craft with Kate, Australia.JPG

First of all, I die cut the 3rd largest die from the Lots of Labels Framelits and cut the shape from Shrink Plastic (or shrinky dinks), then punch a hole at one end. It’s critical you do this before heating and shrinking it! Next, stamp your images. I’ve used Basic Black archival ink for the large letter and Pumpkin Pie ink to stamp the heart from the Bloomin’ Love stamp set. Then let the magic begin as you heat it with your heat tool and watch it shrink!

Here’s a closer look.

and here is the toiletry bag open…. it actually could hold 2 Stamparatus if you had them, as an easier way to transport them to Workshops outside of your home!

and once I made Bev’s, I had to make one for myself, of course!  I love butterflies, so I stamped them in Bermuda Bay ink. The small mobile phone lanyards were purchased on eBay.

Celebrate the New Year with colour!

Dear Crafters,

Happy New Year!  I hope that 2018 brings you much joy, love, health and happiness.

Today’s card is a fun card to celebrate the New Year, with some Birthday Ribbon bows, using the new Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set available in the Occasions catalogue starting in 2 days time!

Celebrate with Picture Perfect Birthday, Stampin' Up! by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator, Australia DIY

I have used some pretty bright colours for this card; Peekaboo Peach, Calypso Coral, Flirty Flamingo, Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, Old Olive, Pool Party & Tempting Turquoise.

This is a photopolymer stamp set, so it is quite easy to line up the two-step stamping for the bows. Check out those gorgeous Tutti-fruitti Adhesive-backed Sequins too, they will also be available and I’m sure they will be a huge hit when the catalogue goes live. These were one of the first embellishments I added to my order.

The fringing on the edges of the panel where the sentiment is, was created by many little paper snips along the edges of the Flirty Flamingo paper. Doesn’t it look cool?!!!

Celebrate with Picture Perfect Birthday, Stampin' Up! by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator, Australia, DIY

Don’t look too closely at the Old Olive stamping… I recently reinked my stamp pad and it was a little too juicy!!!

The “celebrate” sentiment was only part of a stamp in the set, so I actually used a Tempting Turquoise Stampin’ Write Marker to ink up just that one word before stamping!

Birthday card for the boys!

Dear Crafters,

Can you believe there are only 2 more days left of 2017?

Where on earth did this year go??? It all happened so fast and with Christmas done and dusted, it’s time to start thinking about Sale-a-bration and the release of the Occasions catalogue.

Today’s card is full of fun colour and uses the new Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set available in the Occasions catalogue starting in 3rd January!

What kid doesn’t love a party blower on their birthday? I know for sure that they are a hit amongst my girls and I’m sure little boys are no different!

Masculine card using Picture Perfect Birthday, Stampin' Up! by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator, Australia, DIY

I have used some beautiful bright colours for this card; Peekaboo Peach, Lemon Lime Twist, Pool Party & Tempting Turquoise.

This stamp set is photopolymer, so lining up the stamps to create the party blowers is actually not as hard as it may seem. I just love this colour combination for boys and all the stamps in this set, make it so easy to create such a fun card.

Sneak Peek: Petal Palette Bundle

Dear Crafters,

With Christmas now over for another year, it’s not long before we celebrate the start of 2018 and that means Sale-a-bration and the release of the Occasions catalogue!

Today I am sharing the Petal Palette stamp set and the coordinating Petals & More Thinlits dies, available as a bundle saving you 10%. But this Petal Passion Suite is so much more… there are metal embellishments, black & white Designer Series Paper (perfect for colouring) & Petal Pair Textured Embossing Folders, that all coordinate!

You can see I have used the Petal Pair Textured Impressions Embossing Folders above in the background, as well as the stamp set and the thinlits dies. There are also some lovely sentiments in this stamp set, so you won’t be disappointed.

On the inside of the card, I just placed some of the smaller die cuts in the corner.

Christmas, Designer/Patterned/Specialty Papers (DSP), Gift Ideas, Mini Catalogue and Sale-a-bration (SAB), Stampin' Up!, Techniques & Tutorials

Merry Christmas! Impossible Gift Box

Dear Crafters,

Merry Christmas to everyone! It may not quite be Christmas Day where you are, but here in Australia it is Christmas morning, my kids are up and going through their Christmas stockings, waiting patiently (haha) for all the adults (we have my inlaws staying here too) to wake so they can open the rest of the presents under the tree! It’s such a magical time of the year ♥

Today I can finally share this little gift box idea inspired by Julie DiMatteo of The Paper Pixie. I made one following Julie’s video tutorial, but it wasn’t tall enough to fit in a gift card, so I played with the measurements and came up with one that was slightly taller, and you know what, I did it!!!

This box is called the Impossible gift box and when you see it, you think, how on earth do you make that? But, once you have made one, you will be quite surprise and fall in love with it too!

So, the one on the right is using Julie’s measurements, and the one on the left are my altered measurements!

Impossible Gift Box using Stampin Up Party Pandas by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator, Australia 3D DIY.

I wrote the names of my niece’s on the letter held by the pandas, so no need for additional gift tags!!! Winning!!!!

Impossible Gift Box using Stampin Up Party Pandas by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator, Australia 3D DIY

What I love most about these boxes, is that the lid isn’t a separate piece which can get lost. It is all in one and you lift the top of the box to open it and fill it up. See the pictures below as to the mechanism of how it opens, just so clever! I was able to fit a gift card, lip gloss and some Christmas chocolates into each one before closing it up again.

Unfortunately, I cannot supply a full list of product used, as many are retired and this is the perfect time to use them up when making Christmas gifts, however, the Panda stamp set is going to be available from 3rd January as one of the Sale-a-bration stamp sets, along with the Bubbles & Fizz Designer Series Paper used on that same project! The Lemon Lime Twist ribbon will also be available on 3rd January in the Occasions catalogue!

Be sure to download a copy of the Occasions catalogue and the Sale-a-bration brochure on my SU Catalogue Library page on 3rd January 2018.

Click here to watch how Julie made her impossible gift box!

My measurements for the taller box are:
Base card 9” x 8¼”
Score on 9” side at 2”, 6”, 7”, 8”
Score on 8¼” side at 2”, 4”, 6”, 8”

Birthday, Kids Cards, Mini Catalogue and Sale-a-bration (SAB), Stampin' Up!

Happy Birthday, Panda (Sneak peek)

Dear Crafters,

Today I have the cutest little birthday card with some pandas. Aren’t they just adorable? They are one of the Sale-a-bration stamp sets that you can select for FREE with any $90+ order starting 3rd January!

Birthday card using Stampin Ups Party Pandas & Special Celebrations, Saleabration 2018 by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator, Australia.

You can see the panda in the middle has a shadow, that is because I stamped it and then cut it out and adhered it to the card on dimensionals for a 3D effect. The same with the balloons!

Here’s the sentiment on the inside of the card with another cute panda.

Birthday card using Stampin Ups Party Pandas & Special Celebrations, Saleabration 2018 by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator, Australia. Inside

You know when you finish a card and then you pick up the inkpad to close it and you drop it on your project? Argh, well I did that and I was so annoyed with myself. Have you ever done this too?

See this picture below, it was on the front of the card. I had spent so much time on it, I couldn’t bare to throw it away and start again, so I embellished it. Yep, I drew the string by hand and then added another gold glitter balloon!!! Problem solved. Have another look at the finished card and you would never have known ♥
