Under the Sea card

Today’s card is all about the sea!

While I was on a zoom craft & chat session with my fellow demonstrators last week, I wanted to play with the New Horizons Suite. Well, that was the plan, but it didn’t quite eventuate like that. I got out the New Horizons 6″x6″ DSP, and die cut a full sheet with the two soft edged mountain dies (the ones under the snowy peaks below).

My card base is Evening Evergreen. I then had a piece of card 5mm smaller than the card base, and started layering the die cut pieces starting at the top of the card. It doesn’t matter if they overhang off the card, as once it’s complete, I cut around the edges of the card so it’s neat and tidy. Doesn’t it create an amazing background?! Glue this to the card base.

I stamped the whale (Whale Done stamp set) in Coastal Cabana ink and punched it out with the Whale Builder Punch. The foliage is from the Plentiful Plants bundle and I used Old Olive, Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen inks for variation. These are cut out with the coordinating dies and added with Dimensionals.

I stamped the fish and the larger reeds directly onto the patterned paper background.

On the inside I added more of the patterned paper in the same way as the front and stamped the sentiment.

Did you have a win on the Melbourne Cup yesterday? I don’t follow the horse racing but I am thankful for the day off work and yesterday’s weather was glorious!

Week 23 – Just Jade

This card is created using the product suite, Bloom Where You’re Planted. The Basic Border dies were used to cut either end of the Gray Granite card to create a panel. I used the Plenty of Patterns Decorative Masks and a Blending Brush to create the pattern with the same colour ink.

The hanging basket is die cut from the Silver Foil and the bow is from the Flowers For Every Season Ribobn Combo Pack. The foliage is stamped in Just Jade and Soft Succulent. The front plant has Wink of Stella on it, but it doesn’t show very well in the photo. The pot in the hanging basket is stamped in Gray Granite.

On the inside a piece of the DSP is added along the bottom and die cut pot and plant from the patterned paper were added with a stamped sentiment.

Week 21 – Gray Granite

Tonight I am using the Plentiful Plants Bundle which I got for my birthday recently! I don’t have any of the patterned papers that coordinate with it, but I found some leafy designs in the Christmas papers, Painted Christmas DSP that was perfect, along with the In Good Taste DSP.

The macrame hanging basket was die cut using the In Good Taste DSP. The same pattern is in the background across the card. The pot is stamped in Gray Granite ink and the plants in Soft Succulent ink. The scallop border die is from the Contours dies, set to be a firm favourite!

The sentiment is stamped in Versamark ink, White Emboss Powder added and heat set with my Heat Tool. I added a gorgeous Soft Succulent Open Weave Ribbon bow and In Color Jewels.

On the inside, I added some more coordinating plants in a plant stand in the bottom corner.
