Tulip Fields Birthday card

Today I have a gorgeous field of tulips on my card that I think will be extremely popular when the new January – June Mini catalogue becomes available on 4 January! During the first couple of months, Saleabration will also begin where you can earn FREE items with any $90+ product order!

2022 JJ Mini & SAB catalogues

How amazing is this field of tulips card?!!! The clouds are actually some of the Simply Marbleous DSP that is one of the free items you can choose during Saleabration. If you purchase the Tulip Fields Bundle and the Brushed Brass Butterflies embellishments, you can get this DSP FREE!

The rows of tulips are stamped in Pale Papaya, Fresh Freshia and Polished Pink and cut with my Trimmer. I glued these to some Crumb Cake card and then cut it down to 7cm x 13.5cm to fit on the card front (10.5cm x 27cm, scored at 13.5cm), leaving a small gap at the bottom to create the illusion of a bike path.

Tulip Fields birthday card by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2022

The sentiment is actually from another new set which is part of the Flowering Fields Suite, called Flowering Tulips. The full sentiment is stamped on the inside of the card, which you can see below, but I wanted to say happy birthday on the front, rather than happier birthday, so I carefully inked up the first part of the sentiment to happ and stamped it onto white card. Then I cleaned the stamp well with my Simply Shammy and inked up the ‘y’ only from the word birthday and because they are clear photopolymer stamps, I could see through it to place it closely to the happ to create happy!!! Once I stamped the full image again, I fussy cut each word with paper snips, before adding with dimensionals to the card.

The fence and bike are die cut from Early Espresso card and adhered with Multipurpose Glue. How pretty are those Brushed Brass Butterflies embellishments which are self-adhesive to make them even easier to use!

This is the inside of the card where the full sentiment is stamped and the windmill and trees are stamped in Crumb Cake ink.

Week 26 – Melon Mambo

Tonight I have a little sneak peek of a new stamp set available in the 2022 Mini Catalogue, called In the Moment Cling Stamp Set.

In the Moment stamp set for Melon Mambo CCBH by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021

The main image is stamped in Black Memento ink and coloured with Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers. I stamped the image again onto some patterned paper (the same piece as the scalloped frame), fussy cut it and glued it to the stamped image. This technique is called Paper Piecing. Once this was done, I felt it needed a lovely blue sky, so I used the Blending Brushes with the Pool Party ink and the cloud shape from the Basic Borders dies to create the sky. I continued this to the bottom of the white card, as this lady is on a top balcony of a Gold Coast highrise apartment on holidays, enjoying a 5 o’clock wine (are you with me?!!) I think all this time in lockdown has me yearning for a holiday 😉

This is the inside with more clouds at the top, a sentiment and some scalloped edging at the bottom using the two patterned papers and the Scalloped Countours dies.

Feminine Magenta Peony

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 24 – Magenta Madness

This is a really bold colour and can be a bit overwhelming, so tonight I have toned it right down by colouring this flower using the Wink of Stella directly with the ink from the lid of the inkpad. This gives a watercolour look, but also gives it a beautiful sparkle at the same time (not that you can see it in the photos)!!!

The Prized Peony stamp set has this gorgeous large stamped image that is inked in Misty Moonlight ink.

Prized Peony Feminine Card by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021

The patterned paper is called Harvest Meadow Designer Series Paper and I’ve used the Scalloped Contours dies to the centre piece and the Basic White layer. I made some Faux Resin Dots in Magenta Madness and added some White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon, tied in a bow.

Did you have a win on the Melbourne Cup yesterday? I don’t follow the horse racing but I am thankful for the day off work and yesterday’s weather was glorious!

Week 23 – Just Jade

This card is created using the product suite, Bloom Where You’re Planted. The Basic Border dies were used to cut either end of the Gray Granite card to create a panel. I used the Plenty of Patterns Decorative Masks and a Blending Brush to create the pattern with the same colour ink.

Plentiful Plants Bundle by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021

The hanging basket is die cut from the Silver Foil and the bow is from the Flowers For Every Season Ribobn Combo Pack. The foliage is stamped in Just Jade and Soft Succulent. The front plant has Wink of Stella on it, but it doesn’t show very well in the photo. The pot in the hanging basket is stamped in Gray Granite.

On the inside a piece of the DSP is added along the bottom and die cut pot and plant from the patterned paper were added with a stamped sentiment.

CCBH Gray Granite – Plentiful Plants

CCS Logo 2021-22

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 21 – Gray Granite

Tonight I am using the Plentiful Plants Bundle which I got for my birthday recently! I don’t have any of the patterned papers that coordinate with it, but I found some leafy designs in the Christmas papers, Painted Christmas DSP that was perfect, along with the In Good Taste DSP.

Plentiful Plants Bundle for Gray Granite CCBH by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021

The macrame hanging basket was die cut using the In Good Taste DSP. The same pattern is in the background across the card. The pot is stamped in Gray Granite ink and the plants in Soft Succulent ink. The scallop border die is from the Contours dies, set to be a firm favourite!

The sentiment is stamped in Versamark ink, White Emboss Powder added and heat set with my Heat Tool. I added a gorgeous Soft Succulent Open Weave Ribbon bow and In Color Jewels.

On the inside, I added some more coordinating plants in a plant stand in the bottom corner.

Is that a bear in there?!

CCS Logo 2021-22

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 20 – Granny Apple Green

Today’s card has a very general, but pretty theme, and could be used for so many different occasions, as there are no sentiments or DSP on it!

My colour combination is Granny Apple Green, Evening Evergreen and Polished Pink. Anyway, enough mumbling on, here is my card!

Count on Me Pierced Blooms for CCBH Granny Apple Green by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021.

The narrow strip at the bottom of the Granny Apple Green Stitched Greenery layer, is some of the ‘darker’ Silver Foil sheet. The bear was stamped in Black Memento ink and coloured using the Crumb Cake & Polished Pink Blends Marker Combo Packs, then fussy cut with Paper Snips.

The Gold Thread wrapped around the card has retired (oops), I was sure it was still available. Anyway, you could use any metallic thread you may have. I added some Wink of Stella to the centres of the larger flowers for more sparkle.

I finished it off with some 2021-2023 In Color Jewels that I adore and almost finished my pack. I might have to add some more to my next order!

Count on Me Pierced Blooms for CCBH Granny Apple Green by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021 sq

I love how the piercing in the background and the Pierced Blooms die cut images go together so well. This card was inspired by Nikki Spencer who used different flowers and colour combination, but I loved the layout!

Sweet Strawberry clean design

Today’s project is a simple and clean design with loads of white space, which I love!

The Sweet Strawberry stamp set hasn’t seen a lot of love this year and it was time to ink it up again.

Sweet Strawberry card by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021

The only cardstock I have used is Thick Basic White. the first layer has an embossed border which was created using the Simply Scored. The fancy layer is cut using the Contours Dies and the circle from the Layering Circles Dies. I stamped the image onto the Contour die with Sahara Sand ink, then onto the circle. This was coloured using Blends Combo Markers; Soft Succulent and Flirty Flamingo. Then I placed the circle facedown onto the Simply Scored and scored every 1/8″ to add some texture. Glue this to the card. I stamped one of the flowers again, coloured it then fussy cut it and added it to the card with a mini dimensional and a coloured rhinestone. The sentiment was also fussy cut and added on mini dimensionals. To finish I added a double linen thread bow and extra rhinestone jewels.

Here is a closer look at the centrepiece

Layering Circles cards

Week 19 – Gorgeous Grape

Today I have two cards using the Layering Circles Dies that I have been wanting to try for a while now. But let’s talk about this gorgeous purple tone and the colour combination I have chosen, inspired from the Hand-Penned Suite!

Colour Combination - Gorgeous Grape Blushing Bride Mint Macaron

By cutting the following Layering Circles Dies, two cards can be made:
1⅜” (1 x Grape, 1 x Macaron)
1⅞” (2 x Blushing Bride)
2⅜” (1 x Grape, 1 x Macaron)

Each of these circles are cut in half and then layered on top of each other to create these simple designs. This first card is put back together in a circle shape!

Layering Circles card 1 with Hand Penned for CCBH Gorgous Grape by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021

Cover the join with a sentiment (stamped on Tasteful Labels dies) and some Gold & Mint Macaron ribbons. I also added some die cuts in Gold Shimmer Vellum to add for a little extra shine.

Layering Circles cards with Hand Penned for CCBH Gorgous Grape by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021

My second card is pretty much the same, but I have offset the two half layered circles. I love the effect this gives and a totally different look.

Layering Circles card 2 with Hand Penned for CCBH Gorgous Grape by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021

Add the sentiment across where the two halves join and I also added a stamped flower and ribbon bow.

and here is in inside of both cards, decorated with some patterned paper and gold vellum!
