Week 19 – Gorgeous Grape
Today I have two cards using the Layering Circles Dies that I have been wanting to try for a while now. But let’s talk about this gorgeous purple tone and the colour combination I have chosen, inspired from the Hand-Penned Suite!
By cutting the following Layering Circles Dies, two cards can be made:
1⅜” (1 x Grape, 1 x Macaron)
1⅞” (2 x Blushing Bride)
2⅜” (1 x Grape, 1 x Macaron)
Each of these circles are cut in half and then layered on top of each other to create these simple designs. This first card is put back together in a circle shape!
Cover the join with a sentiment (stamped on Tasteful Labels dies) and some Gold & Mint Macaron ribbons. I also added some die cuts in Gold Shimmer Vellum to add for a little extra shine.
My second card is pretty much the same, but I have offset the two half layered circles. I love the effect this gives and a totally different look.
Add the sentiment across where the two halves join and I also added a stamped flower and ribbon bow.
and here is in inside of both cards, decorated with some patterned paper and gold vellum!

Lovely cards Kate and a great technique which I would love to try. The DSP and card stock colours are so pretty together. Love your second card where the circle halves have been offset.

So very, very pretty and a technique I have wanted to try too Kate. Both your cards are gorgeous and so effective in the different placement of the circles.

Lovely cards Kate. I so love your colour combo and the layering of circles. The swirly effect of the layering of half circles is amazing – both cards equally so. Beautiful. Xxx

It looks like you had a lot of fun with this technique, Kate! I especially like the offset circles on the second card. Love the DSP you’ve used (I don’t think I have cut into that yet – it’s so pretty!) on both cards. x
