Masculine Birthday Card using Stampin’ Up!s Guy Greetings

Hello Friends,

Who struggles creating Masculine cards for the men in your life? Well, I know I certainly do and so I have made some cards to store away for when I need them!

This card uses the Guy Greetings stamp set in the current Annual catalogue. I quite like these shoes and feel that they can be used for anyone who may be a businessman who wears a suit for their day job, or anyone with a little style! lol

Check out the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. How gorgeous is that?!!! I made a similar one last week for Father’s Day, you can see it here.

I hope you like my card today. I cased it from Heather Heroldt, so thank you Heather!

The Heart of Christmas Inspiration, Week 12 – a Beachy Little Christmas!

Heart of Christmas Stampin Up Art with Heart Team Christmas Inspiration

Hello Friends,

Welcome to Week 12 of The Heart of Christmas: Handmade Inspiration from the Art with Heart team!

My project today uses the Beachy Little Christmas stamp set, a great one for the Aussie summer at Christmas time. I love how Stampin’ Up! have thought about creating a set for us in the South Pacific, and this is just perfect!

Aussie Christmas Card using Stampin Up Beachy Little Christmas by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator, Australia.JPG

I’m not sure that the palm trees are so Australian, but they sure do remind me of our holiday last year in Hawaii, so I’m loving them!

Aussie Christmas Card using Stampin Up Beachy Little Christmas by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator, Australia. DIY

These little beach boxes were stamped closely together with the Stamp-a-ma-jig (yes, I’m not that good at lining up the stamps, hehe)! Then I cut them out with paper snips, thank goodness for lots of straight lines, and coloured them with watercolour pencils and AquaPainter. The palm trees were coloured the same way, however the lights were coloured with the Brights Collection Markers and a small dot of the Fine Tip Glue pen added for the shine!

The inside of the card says it all to me for our Christmas at summer time. The beach boxes were added last with dimensionals to pop them up off the sand (not sure if you can see the sand which was a little yellow watercolour wash).

The full product list is provided at the end of the post (except for the stamp set, as it is not available for sale until 1st September, unless you are a demonstrator, or if you join my team today!)

I hope you have enjoyed my Heart of Christmas post and I look forward to sharing more Christmas inspiration with you next Wednesday! If you would like to see what others in our team have created, you can view the participant list over on the blog of our leader, Claire Daly.

Bundle of Love meets Ribbon of Courage

Hello Friends,

My project today uses the Ribbon of Courage stamp set and coordinating framelits dies, with the stunning Bundle of Love Specialty Designer Series Paper. #cutitnothoardit

TAMS Color Builder - blushing bride, gold, vanilla, wild wasabi.jpg

Ribbon of Courage meets Bundle of Love by Kate Morgan, Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator Australia #cutitnothoardit #cancer.jpg

I love how there are so many uses for this stamp set which was designed by Patty Bennett, a US Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator and million dollar sales achiever!!! Yes, you heard it, she has sold over $1 million of Stampin’ Up! products in her career, and because of that massive achievement, Stampin’ Up! recognise & reward those amazing people with a trip to the home office in Utah and to design their own stamp set. How cool is that?!!! I’m sure there are many other things they also receive, but this is what I love about this wonderful company we work for!

The ribbon image was stamped in versamark ink, gold embossed and heat set before being die cut with the Support Ribbon framelits and popped up with some dimensionals. The flowers and leaves are also from the same framelits set and I added them behind for a little bit of colour!

Using this sentiment, you could give this card to anyone who is going through a tough time and this bundle is perfect for creating cards for those having treatment, whether it be for cancer or any other disease. I know in the future I will be creating some cards for those suffering with Multiple Sclerosis, just like myself 😦  You know, there is nothing better than going to the mailbox and finding some happy mail to cheer you up 🙂

Look at all that gold shining on this card, who wouldn’t want to open an envelope to see this inside?!!!!

Father’s Day Card using Stampin’ Up!s Guy Greetings

Hello Friends,

While I wait for my new Holiday catalogue goodies to arrive, I have some time to focus on some Masculine cards with Father’s Day coming up next month. What better time to make a start on these before the Holiday catalogue goes live on 1st September and we will forget all about Father’s Day, lol.

Christmas, Stampin' Up!

Heart of Christmas, Week 11 – Bundle of Love

Heart of Christmas Stampin Up Art with Heart Team Christmas Inspiration

Hello Friends,

Welcome to Week 11 of The Heart of Christmas: Handmade Inspiration from the Art with Heart team!

My project today uses the Bloomin’ Love stamp set, Bundle of Love Specialty Designer Series Paper, Large Number Framelits, Layering Oval Thinlits and the Card Front Builder Thinlits dies!

Heart of Christmas card using Stampin Ups Bundle of Love, Bloomin Love, Large Numbers Framelits, Card Front Builder Thinlits by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator Australia. Craft with Kate #cutitnothoardit side.JPG

I love gold and vanilla together, I find it such a warm colour combination.

A funny story – I started this card but had not finished it, so came back to it the next day to find the vellum trees I had die cut and not glued down, were chewed and on the floor and the bottom corner of the card under those trees, was dirty and smudged from where he tried to chew it. Luckily I was able to save it, and that will trust me for not finishing a card and putting it away before going to bed!

That gold foil is just so shiny, perfect detail for these large number dies, which I don’t use enough and I should! They are adhered to the card with the new mini dimensionals, the perfect size to fit beneath them.

And the inside of the card is also decorated with some more vellum trees and a strip of the DSP.

Handmade Cards, Masculine, Stampin' Up!, Techniques & Tutorials

Hats off to You, Masculine Open Panel card with tutorial

Hello Friends,

On Saturday at my class, we focused on Masculine cards with Father’s Day coming up next month. This card I am sharing with you today, is an Open Panel Card!

(you may have received a post already about this last week, but I hadn’t finished writing the post and WordPress was playing funny buggers with me, so here it is again, with all the details)!

Masculine Card for Father's Day, Hats off to you using Stampin Ups Guy Greetings by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator Australia. Craft with Kate #cutitnothoardit

The images were stamped onto Very Vanilla cardstock with Smoky Slate ink. We used some of the retired DSP from the Occasions catalogue, as it was perfect for our masculine project. The base card is Basic Gray cardstock.

Masculine Card for Father's Day, Hats off to you using Stampin Ups Guy Greetings by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator Australia. Craft with Kate #cutitnothoardit angle   Masculine Card for Father's Day, Hats off to you using Stampin Ups Guy Greetings by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator Australia. Craft with Kate #cutitnothoardit inside

The card itself was quite simple to create. Here is how I did it:

I began with half an A4 sheet (29.7 x 10.5cm) folded in half. I cut off the bottom panel measuring 5cm (2″). Then I cut it again allowing for a 3.5cm (1-3/8″) gap in the centre of the card.

The large Gray panel measures 6.5cm x 10.5cm, the Vanilla is 6cm x 10cm

The medium Gray panel is 4.7cm x 7cm, the Vanilla is 4.2cm x 6.5cm

The Sentiment Gray panel is 7.5cm x 1.5cm, the Vanilla is 7cm x 1cm

DSP: 10cm x 6cm & 10cm x 4.5cm

Once you have done all your stamping and mounted those pieces onto the Gray matt pieces of cardstock and added your DSP to the top and bottom panels, hold the bottom panel lining it up with the base of the card so you can add the centre panel. Make sure you only add adhesive to the top and bottom sections of this panel. Then add the other two panels to your card. I also added some Vanilla cardstock to the inside of the card and stamped the hats image in the bottom right corner!

Here are two more of this same style card!

Christmas, Stampin' Up!

Heart of Christmas, Week 10; Carols of Christmas and so much more!

Heart of Christmas Stampin Up Art with Heart Team Christmas Inspiration

Hello Friends,

Welcome to Week 10 of the Heart of Christmas: Handmade Inspiration from the Art with Heart team!

My project today uses many different stamp set and bundles; Sheet Music stamp, Carols of Christmas & At Home With You bundles, Paint Play stamp set, and other new products from the Annual Catalogue!

The Sheet Music is stamped in Versamark ink, gold embossed and heat set, as is the sentiment.

Carols of Christmas, Pait Play & at Home with You by Kate Morgan Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator, Australia Heart of Christmas 3D.jpg

The mantle of the fireplace was created using the Card Front Thinlits Builder dies that is part of the bundle with the Carols of Christmas stamp set which will be available in the upcoming Holiday catalogue! The baubles are also from this bundle.

The fire was stamped using the Paint Play stamp set. I’m not too sure how well it worked, but I think you get the picture, lol. Those little Boxwood Wreath embellishments are super cute and I just had to add one to the centre of the fireplace. I also added some red glimmer berries and a copper trim bow!

I hope you have enjoyed my Heart of Christmas post and I look forward to sharing more Christmas inspiration with you next Wednesday! If you would like to see what others in our team have created, you can view the participant list over on the blog of our leader, Claire Daly.

Stampin' Up!

Paint Play is so much fun!

Hello Friends,

My project today uses the Paint Play stamp set. I haven’t seen very much at all made with this one, so I gave myself the challenge to come up with something!

Floral Handmade Card using Stampin' Up!s Paint Play by Kate Morgan, Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Australia

The image were stamped in the top corner randomly on the white card. The mini gold sequin trim was added and the few small sequins which fell off the ends were glued onto the card too! No wasting them!!! lol

Those cute little In Color bows are just too cute and add an extra touch of Powder Pink to the card.

Using this sentiment, you could give this card for a birthday, a thinking of you, cheering someone up, Random Act of Kindness, or just about anything!

Favourite Colour Combination for the Art with Heart Team Blog Hop

art-with-heart-team-blog-hop-logo-current

Dear Crafters,

The Art with Heart Team ladies are selecting their favourite colour combinations to share with you tonight. Choosing the right colour scheme can be essential to your design and with Stampin’ Up!s stunning collection, there are 50 colours to choose from. There’s sure to be some combinations that work really well together and you can take inspiration from.

Now sit back and enjoy some time out of your day to cruise through our blog hop and soak up some colour explosion eye candy!

Blog Hop July 2017 - Favourite Colour Combination.jpg

Blog Hops are full circles, so you can start hopping here and then at the end of each post is a link to the next one. There is also a list of participants at the end in case of any broken links. You may have come to me from my lovely team member, Amie McIlroy.

Now let’s get started!

Today, it’s all about our favourite colour combinations and I certainly do love these colours together. In fact, any colour with black can be so striking!

Favourite Colour Combination Blog Hop for Art with Heart Team by Kate Morgan, Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator, Australia. TAMS Color Builder

I am using the amazing new embossing paste and Pattern Party Decorative Masks.

Favourite Colour Combination using Stampin Ups Sweet Cupcake & Embossing Paste by Kate Morgan, Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator, Australia for Art with Heart Team Blog Hop.

I mixed a small drop of Berry Burst ink into the paste and mixed it around thoroughly. I placed the die of the icing from the cupcake Framelits onto white cardstock. Holding it carefully, I applied a liberal amount of the paste, swirling it around to create the icing. I then used a thinner layer on the black card using the mask to create the background, hence it looks lighter in colour. Set these aside to dry.

Favourite Colour Combination using Stampin Ups Sweet Cupcake by Kate Morgan, Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator, Australia for Art with Heart Team Blog Hop 3D Embossing Paste.JPG

I die cut the circles using the Stitched Shapes Framelits dies. The sentiment was using the stamps from the Sweet Cupcake stamp set, but you may notice that the word “wishes” is not there. I thought it looked a bit silly saying Sweet Birthday Wish and needed to make it plural, so I carefully inked up the “ess” from the “you happiness” stamp, placed a piece of paper over the last “s” so it didn’t stamp on my card to create wishes!

Favourite Colour Combination using Stampin Ups Sweet Cupcake & Embossing Paste by Kate Morgan, Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator, Australia for Art with Heart Team Blog Hop 3D.JPG

The cupcake wrapper was stamped in Soft Suede (2nd and 3rd layers stamped off once, then twice) before being die cut and added below the icing. Once the icing was dry, I used paper snips to cut around the whole cupcake and added it to the Berry Burst circle with dimensionals.

I love the touch of gold glimmer to die cut the sentiment and the golf metallic thread added behind the circle layers.

At the very end once all of the layers were stuck down, I went back with the palette knife and added a tiny bit more of the white paste across the raised edges of the icing to add some highlighting and a swirl effect. I just want to eat it!!! At least this cupcake is better for the figure, hehe!
