Twinkling Christmas Lights

Today I have another card using the Making Christmas Bright Bundle, CASE’d directly from page 6 of the 2018 Holiday catalogue. You may remember seeing my post on Wednesday using this same bundle, you can see it here.

My Real Red card base is embossed in the Big Shot with the Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. A layer of Call Me Clover card is added down the centre.

The Whisper White card is stamped with the sprigs from the Christmas Pines stamp set. Then I added the strings for the lights, however, I forgot to stamp these last week when Andrea was here so I’ve had to improvise and so I used the line stamp from the Balloon Celebrations stamp set! I stamped it in Gray Granite ink, but 2nd generation stamping so it isn’t so dark.

The Christmas lights are stamped in Real Red, Call Me Clover, Pineapple Punch and Pool Party. The tops are Gray Granite ink on coordinating card stock. Before I added each light with a dimensional, I used a sponge dauber to lightly add some ink for the light’s glow!

Can you see those Pretty Pines die cuts on top of the stamped ones? These just added an extra bit of dimension.

The ribbon I have used is retired, however there is one very similar in my product list below that is a suitable replacement!

Hello Friends,

Welcome to Week 26 of The Heart of Christmas: Handmade Inspiration from the Art with Heart team!

My project today is not just a beautiful handmade card, but also a gift, with some scissor bling being the feature! You can see the scissor bling hanging from the centre of the card. This can be removed and added to the recipients Paper Snips/Scissors after Christmas.

You may also notice some new ribbons… yes, they will be available in the upcoming Occasions catalogue. I was lucky enough to receive some at our recent OnStage event.

  • Lemon Lime Twist 1cm Mini Striped Ribbon
  • Berry Burst 1cm Metallic Edged Ribbon

You have to see them in real life, just to see how stunning they are.

The Heart of Christmas, week 19 – Christmas Pines & Painted Harvest

Heart of Christmas Stampin Up Art with Heart Team Christmas Inspiration

Hello Friends,

Welcome to Week 19 of The Heart of Christmas: Handmade Inspiration from the Art with Heart team!

My project today uses the Painted Harvest & Christmas Pines stamp sets to create this Christmas card!

Heart of Christmas - Color Builder - Artichoke, olive, vanilla, cherry cobbler.jpg

Look at me using Always Artichoke, a colour I very rarely use…. in fact, I think it is the 2nd time ever, that it’s been opened and you know what, I actually don’t mind it for a Christmas colour!

Christmas card using Stampin Up Painted Harvest & Christmas Pines, by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator, Australia. Fancy #makeacardsendacard

I have stamped the sunflower image in Always Artichoke, and twice with Old Olive. The berries are stamped in Cherry Cobbler. How pretty is that coordinating double stitched ribbon bow?!!! So pretty!

The Garden Trellis Textured Impressions Embossing Folder just finishes this card off perfectly. I just love that added texture.

I love how versatile our stamp sets can be. Who would have thought to use a sunflower image for a Christmas wreath?!!! Not me…. but there are plenty of amazingly creative people out there on Pinterest who inspired me.

The full product list is provided at the end of the post!

The Heart of Christmas, Week 6

Heart of Christmas Stampin Up Art with Heart Team Christmas Inspiration

Hello Friends,

Welcome to Week 6 of the Heart of Christmas: Handmade Inspiration from the Art with Heart team.

My card today is 5-3/4″ square card using the Jar of Love & Christmas Pines stamp sets and the Everyday Jars Framelits.

Heart of Christmas Card using Stampin Ups Jar of Love, Everyday Jars Framelits & Christmas Pines by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator Australia, DIY

Can you believe that I have never inked up the Jar of Love stamp set until now?! True! But… having made this card, I am bound to make many more projects with this amazing stamp set.

The photos don’t do this card justice in showing all the glitter and gold edging, but I hope you can see that I used the Versamark ink pad, and rubbed it along the edges of the cardstock, dipped them in gold embossing powder and heat set it. It’s another way of creating a layered effect without the extra thickness of cardstock!

The flowers were stamped with the Cherry Cobbler ink, however the solid background colour was stamped off first to give that toned look. The greetings are from the Christmas Pines stamp set.

and here is the inside of the card!

Heart of Christmas Stampin Up Art with Heart Team Christmas Inspiration

Dear Crafters,

Welcome to Week 3 of the Heart of Christmas: Handmade Inspiration from the Art with Heart team!

My card today uses the Cookie Cutter Christmas & Christmas Pines stamp sets, which have been carried over into the new annual catalogue. I am so happy, as I already had both of these sets and I am excited to be able to continue sharing Christmas projects with you!

I have use Tranquil Tide and Cherry Cobbler and I think these will be my ‘go to’ Christmas colours this year. The teddy bear is stamped in Crumb Cake with Early Espresso features.

Christmas card using Christmas Pines and Cookie Cutter Christmas by Kate Morgan, Independent Stampin' Up! Demostrator, Australia.JPG

This card uses the Whisper White Notecards & Envelopes which make card-making very quick and easy and you can create multiples of these cards in a short period of time. We all like that at Christmas time, right?!! And these packs are such great value at $10.50 for 20 notecards and 20 envelopes!

I decorated the envelope with the bear on the front and some of the pine needle branches on the back seal.

Check out the new Decorative Ribbon Border Punch; it was one of the first things on my wish list!

This time I embossed the pine cone with copper embossing powder. I would have preferred to coordinate it with the glitter strip, but the gold pine cone just didn’t look right!!!

Woodland Sleigh

Dear Crafters,

Today’s card is all about Christmas and the new Santa’s Sleigh Bundle, combining it with the Woodland TIEF.

I love the sleigh in the glimmer card and the reindeer is super cute!

The sentiment was added as a banner but it needed some dimension, so I curled it with the bone folder to create extra interest.

Pineapples

Dear Crafters,

With this slightly warmer weather starting to appear in Melbourne, we are getting back into eating some yummy fruits, including the pineapple!

So today’s card is all about pineapples, but it is created with my favourite Christmas Pines Bundle!

cards-by-kate-christmas-pines-pineapple-stampinup-holidaycatalogue2016-diy-cardsbykatemorgan

My 7 year old saw this stamp set and instead of thinking of pine cones, she suggested I make some pineapples. What a great idea!

Then I happened to be browsing Pinterest (as you do lol) and I came across a card with this idea and I had to make it straight away. It was by a lady called Kim Jolley, from Missouri and you can see her card here.

cards-by-kate-christmas-pines-pineapple-stampinup-holidaycatalogue2016-diy-cardsbykatemorgan

How cool is the background? I used the Gorgeous Grunge stamp, inked it up and then spritzed it before stamping!
