Heart of Christmas Stampin Up Art with Heart Team Christmas Inspiration

Hello Friends,

Welcome to Week 23 of The Heart of Christmas: Handmade Inspiration from the Art with Heart team!

My project today is using the Beachy Little Christmas stamp set and the brand new Stampin’ Blends Markers which are released today for you to purchase!!!

You can purchase these markers singularly or in a combo pack of two. Or if you are like me and need the entire set, you can also purchase all of them (see below)!!!

Here is my Christmas card using these amazing new blending markers.

IMG_6842

My card base is Fresh Fig and I used the Thick Whisper White for the centre panel.

To use the Stampin’ Blend Markers, you need to stamp your images with the Black Memento ink pad, allowing it to dry for a few minutes before you begin colouring. I add the darker shade first and then blend with the lighter shade.

I used some of the Red Ribbon across the top and bottom of the white card and added a bow, just to add a little red to make it extra Christmassy!!!

Eclipse card with Watercolour Wings

Hello Friends,

My project today is a card I made for my niece’s birthday a couple of weeks ago. Her favourite colours are aqua and pinks, so I’ve used Pool Party, Dapper Denim, Powder Pink and Sweet Sugarplum.

I’m not sure if you can see the Wink of Stella on the body of each butterfly, but it is so pretty in real life!

This was another card we did at my last class and the ladies thought it was so clever and so much easier to create than they imagined!

Who loves donuts or cookies?

Hello Friends,

My project today is was inspired by Connie Tumm from the USA.

Personally, when I first saw this card, I saw those yummy, sweet, fancy jam biscuits, but so many others just saw donuts, so I’m happy to go with either!!!!

This is my version of the card and we made this at my last class with a lovely group of ladies who loved it! They had so much fun making them and they are made donuts!!!

Donut birthday card using Stampin Ups Layering Ovals Framelits, Sweet Cupcake stamps & punches by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator Australia 2017.JPG

I personally don’t eat donuts, but I do know they come with chocolate, vanilla & strawberry icing with sprinkles on top, so that is what we made.

The card base is chocolate chip, with Very Vanilla and Pink Pirouette for the other layers. We used the Stitched Shapes Framelits to die cut the oval from the centre of the card.

Some of these punches have retired, but I will always keep them as they come in handy for so many projects just like this! The 3/8″ circle punch was also used for the centre of the each donut!

Don’t you just love the layers and texture of this card? I love how the Layered Leaves Dynamic Textured impressions embossing folder gives such a deep impression as the background and then coordinates so well with the black and white leaf layer of dsp!

The Triple banner punch makes creating banners so quick and easy and perfect. I certainly cannot get them so perfect without this punch!

Adding the layer of silver glimmer adds a touch of class, as does the two little black rhinestones!

Birthday, Kids Cards, Masculine, Stampin' Up!

Personalised masculine birthday card using Sweet Cupcake!

Hello Friends,

My project today is for a little boy turning 8! I am terrible with creating cards for boys as I don’t have any boys in my family, especially not at this age anyway! It was Joel’s birthday during the recent school holidays and he had a party at Timezone which my daughter was so excited about. This is the card I finally came up with!

Masculine birthday card using Stampin Ups Large Letters dies & Sweet Cupcake stamp set by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator Australia 2017

The icing on this cupcake was meant to look like choc-mint and the cupcake represents the O in his name. I also embossed the card base with the Pinewood Planks Dynamic TIEF for some extra texture.

I stamped another cupcake and placed it inside the card with the sentiment from the same stamp set, Sweet Cupcake.

The reason I chose to use Lemon List Twist for the card base is because it matched the gift bag that we had put the present in!!!

Farewell, Stampin' Up!, Sympathy

Sympathy for a beloved pet

Hello Friends,

My project today is with a touch of sadness for a teacher colleague who lost her beloved best friend during the recent school holidays 😦

This is the card I made for her, in the hope that it may bring some comfort and lasting memories of her loved, Becks (named after David Beckham)!

Sympathy card for a pet using Stampin Ups Bella & Friends, Flourishing Phrases by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator, Australia

He was a little white fella, so I obviously had to use the Bella & Friends stamp set. I stamped the image in black ink and then used my blender pen with some smoky slate ink to add some highlighting. Of course I needed to add a red collar with the red heart with a touch of Wink of Stella on top!

My card base is Chocolate Chip with a layer of Lemon Lime Twist, then White. The floral image is stamped with Lemon Lime Twist on the front and the inside panel is stamped off once before stamping on the card.

Christmas, Stampin' Up!

The Heart of Christmas, Week 21: Beachy Little Christmas

Hello Friends,

My project today uses the Beachy Little Christmas stamp set and the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper.

Beachy Little Christmas card using Stampin Ups Merry Little Christmas DSP by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator, Australia

I began by stamping the shell images on the base card with the coordinating Crumb Cake ink. Next I added a small strip of the Merry Little Christmas Designer series paper and a piece of burlap ribbon.

I stamped the tree image in crumb cake ink and coloured it with the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush before die cutting it with the oval and sponging the edge.

Beachy Little Christmas card using Stampin Ups Merry Little Christmas DSP by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator, Australia DIY

The sentiment is also stamped in Crumb Cake ink and sponged the edges before adding it with dimensionals. I think using predominantly crumb cake on this card, resonates with me as being the sand at the beach.

Personalised Birthday Eclipse card with Painted Harvest

Hello Friends,

My Eclipse card today uses the Painted Harvest stamp set and Large Letters Framelits dies, with the following colour combination.

TAMS Color Builder - Soft Suede, Old Olive, Lemon Lime Twist, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie.jpgI made this card for one of my favourite teachers from my school days, whom I also ended up working with until her Retirement, Patsy.  She is such an amazing person who has so much to deal with but gets on with life, without any fuss. She was such an inspiration to me back in the 80s when she taught me Home Economics; cooking and sewing in Tasmania!

I still keep in touch with Patsy and every year I send her a card for her Birthday and Christmas. So here is her card for this year. I wish you all the best health and love today and always, Patsy. Happy Birthday!

The Eclipse card is a very popular technique at the moment and it works beautifully with this stamp set. The ribbon is retired but it was the perfect 1/4″ cotton ribbon in Pumpkin Pie to coordinate perfectly!

Project #1

The Wood Textures DSP is awesome, especially for masculine cards and projects. Here is an example where I have used it as a feature at the bottom of the card. To me, it acts a bit like a fence with the hot air balloons travelling above!

Project #2

This is the Petal Garden DSP, isn’t it stunning?!!! I just love this one. You can do so much with these papers and both sides of every double sided page is worthy of use. Here I have created two very simple cards showcasing the gorgeous floral patterns with the shimmer ribbon, Pretty Label punch and the sentiment is from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set.

Project #3

I have created some 3D boxes as gift wrapping for some very special birthdays coming up this week. These boxes are very easy to create using the Envelope Punch Board and some of our stunning DSPs. The one on the left uses a pattern from the Delightful Daisy DSP. The top one is from the Coffee Break DSP and one underneath, is from the Naturally Eclectic DSP. I have decorated them with the new mini sequin trim and the burlap ribbon.

Here is a 12″ x 12″ Scrapbooking page using the gorgeous Whole Lot of Lovely DSP. This was a gorgeous day trip during our recent driving holiday up to Sydney. One of our favourite places to visit, is the Licorice and Chocolate Factory in Junee. As you can see, we did stock up just a little at the shop on our way out!!! I also used some gold foil with the Decorative Ribbon Border punch and the Birthday Blossoms & Brushwork Alphabet stamp sets.
