Now let’s get started!

Tonight the Art with Heart team are sharing our favourite retiring products and mine is definitely the Watercolour Wings stamp set and coordinating dies, Bold Butterfly framelits & Butterflies thinlits.

I have also used 3 of my favourite retiring colours; Island Indigo, Pink Pirouette, Rose Red, and I will miss them, however there are some new stunning colours to replace them. Yay!

The 1/8″ metallic gold ribbon is also retiring, so make sure you get some of that added to your shopping cart. I have used it on the Rose Red card above in horizontal stripes. I also added Versamark ink to the centre of the butterfly as well as sponged it around the edges of the Rose Red card, added some Gold embossing powder and heat set it for added shine. I used my Fine Tip glue pen to add to the dots on the butterfly, gold embossing powder and heat set!

My next card uses the same products but I have teamed it up with the stunning Painted with Love DSP which will also retire on 31st May. It has this amazing gold through it. This card is a pop through card, where the butterfly slides through the slit when you open it!

Eclipse card with Watercolour Wings

Hello Friends,

My project today is a card I made for my niece’s birthday a couple of weeks ago. Her favourite colours are aqua and pinks, so I’ve used Pool Party, Dapper Denim, Powder Pink and Sweet Sugarplum.

I’m not sure if you can see the Wink of Stella on the body of each butterfly, but it is so pretty in real life!

This was another card we did at my last class and the ladies thought it was so clever and so much easier to create than they imagined!

Floral Wings

Dear Crafters,

Today I use the Hostess stamp set, Floral Wings which also coordinates with our Bold Butterfly Framelits.

I have no idea what this style is called, but I find it quite effective. I cut down a piece of Whisper White card by 5mm on each side. I stamped the butterfly image in the centre and then measured in the same distance from each side towards the centre and drew a line down, but not across the wings. I then cut out that centre portion leaving the butterfly intact.

My colour scheme: Blushing Bride, Melon Mambo, Mint Macaron and Whisper White.

Butterflies Thinlits, Foral Wings,Feminine Handmade card, Farewell, Stampin Up

I then stamped the floral images along each edge and added the sentiment.

I embossed the base card with the Elegant Dots TIEF using the Big Shot machine, before adhering the stamped piece.

Butterfly Wings

Dear Crafters,

Today I have a pop through style card. I love butterflies and we have so many to choose from in our current range, but this one is stunning. It is a triple stamp, but it’s photopolymer, so it’s very easy to line them up.

I started with some Lost Lagoon card stock, folding it in half and the the front in half again, but back on itself. Then I die cut the large butterfly framelit but only to the scoreline, as I only wanted the first panel to be cut.

Then I stamped the butterfly two times and cut them out with the coordinating framelits. The first one, I glued to the 2nd panel so the left wing is free through the cut panel.

You can see I have glued the second butterfly on the inside!

The next step was to stamp the dots and with Lost Lagoon ink and add some Bermuda Bay sequins. Lastly, I added some Bermuda Bay Sequin trim and a Pool Party Glitter ribbon bow to the butterfly on the front of the card.

Gift Box for a set of Cards & Envelopes

Dear Crafters,

Today I share with you a gift box for a set of cards & envelopes and stamped with the Watercolour Wings stamp set.

Stampin Up Watercolour Wings Gift Box of Cards

I started with a 12″ x 12″ sheet of cardstock and cut it down to 8″ x 11-1/2″.

Score the long side at ¾”, 5-3/8”, 6-1/8”, 10-¾”.

Score the short side at 7-1/4”.

Stamp your images as shown.

Place short edge back on Simply Scored and score at ¾” (through the butterfly) so it gives a wrap around effect. Fold and burnish all the score lines. Cut notches and add adhesive as shown. I put the base together first then used the 1″ circle punch for the notch at the front, before adhering the lid together.

Stampin Up Watercolour Wings Gift Box of Cards

I stamped the butterfly starting with Watermelon Wonder, the second image in Cucumber Crush, then the final image in Island Indigo. This is what it looks like when opened up with cards and envelopes inside!

Watercolour Wings for JAI

Dear Crafters,

Today I enter a challenge at Just Add Ink. The challenge this week is an Sketch Challenge JAI#268.

What a great sketch this is and as soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to give it a go!

I started with a Basic Black card and added panels of Old Olive and the a piece of the new Pretty Petals DSP Stack. I sponged the edges before gluing them to the card.

Stampin Up Watercolour Wings

Next I added the banner across the centre. I used the 2″ circle punch and embossed it with the fluttering textured impressions embossing folder and sponged the edges before adding it with dimensionals.

Stampin Up Watercolour Wings

I stamped the butterfly onto Very Vanilla card stock, starting with Calypso Coral (stamped off for the first image), full strength for the second image and the 3rd is Watermelon Wonder. Then I die cut it out with the Butterflies Thinlits.

I also die cut a piece of vellum with the Bold Butterfly Framelits and attached it to the stamped image.

I wanted something a little bit more, so I used some gold beads and threaded them onto gold wire I use for jewellery making! You can see it close up below, cute hey!!!!

Stampin Up Watercolour Wings

Do you see those gold dots? Wonder how I made those? Well, they are the White Perfect Accents and I coloured them with a Gold Sharpie pen!!!! How clever hey!

Don’t forget to decorate the inside panel along with a coordinating envelope!

I have to say when I saw this sketch I loved it, and all of the design team cards were stunning and very inspiring!

Please leave a comment below, if you think my card met this challenge.

Why don’t you give a challenge a go, they are so much fun. Head across to the Just Add Ink page for more inspiration and see how the designers interpreted this challenge.

Watercolour Wings Note Card

Dear Crafters,

Today I share my Watercolour Wings note card with you. This is my newest stamp set and I am so excited to share this with you. I am absolutely loving this stamp set and the bonus is, that you can also get the coordinating dies, so no need for hours of fussy cutting!!! Purchase them together as a bundle and you save a further 15%.

I am using the Whisper White Note Cards and Envelopes pack. These packs are awesome for quick cards, and they are slightly smaller than the usual A5 cards that I make. These note cards are pre-scored, thicker card and you get 20 cards and 20 envelopes in a great value pack for only $10.50.

Let’s get started!

My base card I have left white and added a couple of banners which I punched with the new, must have, Triple Banner Punch. You can create three different sized banners, 1″, 1-1/2″ & 2″. The larger banner uses the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack and the smaller banner is the brand new Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack.

Watercolour Wings

I stamped the butterfly onto Whisper White card, starting with Marina Mist as the base, then Pacific Point, then Island Indigo at the last layer. These stamps are photopolymer, so they are completely clear and so easy to stamp one on top of the other in a 3-step process.

I used the coordinating Bold Butterfly framelits to die cut it out, and the smaller framelit with the Gold Glimmer Paper.

Watercolour Wings

I used Tombo Multipurpose glue to join the butterflies together. On the back of the larger butterfly, I added a small strip of Fast Fuse and some gold metallic thread. I just bunched it up into loops and held it to the fast fuse. How cool is that!

I added the butterfly to the card with dimensionals!

What do you think of my card? I was very pleased with the outcome. I would love for you to leave a comment also.
