CCBH: Old Olive

2023-2024 AWH Colour Creations header

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 36 – Old Olive

How are you enjoying the new Mini catalogue?  Have you placed an order and what was your favourite new product?

Today I feature the Planted Paradise stamp set in this very simple card.  I am very limited in my supplies this week, as I cannot get to my cardstock while we don’t have an ensuite. Last week it was totally demolished for a complete rebuild. I’m just glad the 2 days of jack jammering has finished, eek that was loud. Next week the tiling will be done and I’ll be able to access my cardstock again. Anyway enough of my hectic life, back to the card!

The card base is Thick Basic White. The vase is stamped in Pebbled Path ink. The plants are stamped in Old Olive and some also have Pebbled Path ink done with the rock n roll technique, where you ink the image in Old Olive, then roll the stamp on its edges on the Pebbled Path inkpad to get the dual tone, then stamp. Each of these are fussy cut with Paper Snips, some of the plants are cut between the leaves and added behind.

Planted Paradise Rock n Roll Technique card for Old Olive Colour Creations Blog Hop by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2024.

The circle behind the feature, is created using Blending Brushes and Old Olive ink. I die cut a circle (Stylish Shapes dies) from some scrap card as the template. I also flicked some Pebbled Path ink from my Pebbled Path Stampin’ Write Marker. I added the feature pieces on Stampin’ Dimensionals, a Linen Thread bow added on a Glue Dot and some Rhinestone Jewels added on the vase. I have deliberately left off a sentiment until the time comes to use this card. It could be used for any occasion!

Here you can see the splatter and the dimension of the plant.

The Glass Mat Studio is amazing. As a Demonstrator, I was able purchase this early, as it is on offer during Saleabration as part of your joining kit (worth $106!). It is such a wonderful tool. One feature I use it for is ink blending. I tap my inkpad onto the glass, then use the Blending Brushes to pick the ink up. Once done, simply wipe the ink clean with the Cleaning Cloth provided. Another item included is the white Silicone Mat as shown below. Place your open inkpad on it so it doesn’t slide around using your Blending Brushes, while you hold your mask in place. It is great to mix ink colours for watercolouring. More reasons why I love this tool can be seen here.

Heart of Christmas #17 – Christmas Pinecones

HOC Blog Header 2023Each Monday, some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our September-December Mini catalogue and Annual catalogue Christmas products.

Heart of Christmas Week 17

Today is our final Heart of Christmas blog hop for 2023, but don’t worry, we will be back again next year!

My card today features the Christmas Pinecones dies from the Annual catalogue. I cut it twice in Thick Basic White card. I used Sponge Daubers to dab colour for a mottled look, to one of them; Lost Lagoon, Pretty Peacock, Pecan Pie & Pebbled Path. Some Tombo Multipurpose Glue was applied to stick them together, but slightly off set, so the white layer is slightly visible.

My Thick Basic White card base has some Lost Lagoon ink applied in the centre with a Blending Brush, then some splatter using the Dark Lost Lagoon Blends Marker. The pinecone die cuts can now be applied.

The sentiment is a mix of Joy to You stamp set & the Wanted to Say dies. I cut a piece of Silver Trim down the centre to have some finer threads, then lay them on my card with some Stampin’ Seal. The sentiments are added to the card on dimensionals. Some Lost Lagoon Tinsel Gems were added for a little sparkle.

On the inside I added a little splatter and another leftover piece of the diecuts.

Flirty Flamingo: Warm Winter Wishes

2023-2024 AWH Colour Creations header

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 23 – Flirty Flamingo

Today’s slimline cards use the Perforating Tip which attaches to the Take Your Pick Tool. This is a product that many don’t see in the catalogue and I wanted to highlight it as a useful tool.

Card 1 – I used the Perforating Tip to run a wavy line through the selected pieces of 2023-2024 Brights 6″ x 6″ DSP with 4 different patterns.

I cut a layer of card 18.5cm x 7.5cm and added Seal+ around the edges and down the centre. Then I layered the different patterns down the card. Trim off the edges hanging over.  Glue this to a 19cm x 8cm Basic White Matt. This is added to a matt of Azure Afternoon, 20cm x 9cm then glued to the Flirty Flamingo card base, 21cm x 20cm, scored at 10cm.

Forever Forest for Flirty Flamingo Colour Creations Blog Hop by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2023.

I used the Forever Forest dies to diecut the trees. I felt in needed something else, so I added a 9cm round Deckled Circle die cut in Vellum. I added the largest tree to the centre of the circle with dimensionals. The trees either side are glued directly to the vellum. Add glue to the back of the vellum behind the diecuts so it doesn’t show through. Add this to the lower section of the card. I added Wink of Stella to the 2 smaller trees and a Gold Star Trinket to the centre tree, as well as some Iridescent Adhesive-backed discs.

The sentiment is from the Christmas Classics stamp set, stamped in Flirty Flamingo ink and fussy cut, then adhered with mini dimensionals.

Card 2 – Using the same idea, I thought about using this wavy curve with blending brushes and inks to create a similiar, but more subtle background. This card turned out even better than I had hoped.  I took a scrap piece of card and used the Perforating Tip to run a wavy line through one end to use as my template. I cut a piece of Basic White card to 20cm x 9cm and placed it on my work mat and used post it notes to create a 1cm border, but also to hold it down. I used Flirty Flamingo and Azure Afternoon inks with the blending brushed and added the colour, starting at the bottom and working my way to the top. Note, that I flipped the template over to use the 2nd colour.

Once I had the ink up to the top and removed the post it notes to reveal a crisp white border. I stamped the trio of trees from the Forever Forest stamp set in Misty Moonlight ink.

The sentiment is from the Above it All stamp set.  This was glued to the card base and I added the Gold Star Trinket and the Gold ribbon bow.

This coastal collection includes an inspiring set of stamps and detailed dies, both early-release products from the upcoming 2022–2023 Annual Catalogue. Plus, a pack of paper made from hand-poured paint, blue-hued foil sheets for a sea of shine, and radiant rhinestones for a splash of sparkle—each an exclusive product you can only purchase during the promotion period!

The following exclusive products are only available while supplies last:

    • Waves of the Ocean 12″ x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) Designer Series Paper
    • Blue Foils 12″ x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) Specialty Paper
    • Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewels

Waves of the Ocean Collection 161797

My card is using the Waves of Inspiration Bundle (stamps & dies) and is a fairly simple design aimed at the casual crafter. I first stamped the wave in Pacific Point ink, then used basic white & the supple shimmer card to die cut two of the intricate layers. I glued the white layer on first and took my blending brush with some pool party ink and blended some colour across the wave. The clouds are created using the Basic Borders dies and gently brushing ink starting at the top of the card and working down to the wave.

Waves of Inspiration by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2022 Sneak Peek

I then glued the (Pool Party) Supple Shimmer layer on top to get that gorgeous sparkle for the breaking wave. The pelican image is inked by placing Crumb Cake ink for the pelican and Soft Suede ink for the posts before stamping down onto the white card. Die cut this and place on the card with mini dimensionals. The sentiment and birds flying off into the distance are also stamped in Soft Suede ink. Lastly, I added some Wink of Stella to the feathers of the pelican.

CCBH Old Olive: Thank You Flowering Tulips

CCS Logo 2021-22

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 32 – Old Olive

Tonight’s card features the Flowering Tulips Bundle [Flowering Tulips stamp set & Tulips dies].

My card base is Old Olive with a layer of Harvest Meadow DSP (oops it’s retired), but you could use any patterned paper. The next layer is some of the new Vellum Layering Designs but I didn’t glue this down until I had the tulips etc adhered on top of it, so I knew where to add my adhesive so it doesn’t show through.

The tulips are die cut with the Simply Marbleous DSP (free item during Saleabration with qualifying order), and the leaves with Old Olive card.

The sentiment is stamped in Old Olive ink onto Basic White card and die cut using the Give It a Whirl dies, and popped up on dimensionals.

Again, I have added my favourite Brushed Brass Butterflies, as they are the perfect embellishment, especially for a garden scene!

I also made a second card using the Count on Me stamp set and the Inspiring Canopy dies to create this pretty scene. The Thick Basic White card base is coloured using Blending Brushes with Old Olive at the base. I die cut the clouds using the Basic Borders dies and used it to create the clouds at the top with Pool Party ink.

The trees were initially die cut in Thick Basic White card, so I had to colour the trunks with the Crumb Cake Blends Combo Pack. The leaves were die cut in Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive and adhered with glue and black dimensionals. The Sun is coloured with Daffodil Delight ink and a Blending Brush before die cutting and adhering with glue.

The koalas are stamped and fussy cut with Paper Snips and coloured using the Watercolour Pencils and Blender Pens. The fox is stamped and coloured using Blender Pens with Cajun Craze ink (a colour I hardly ever used, but is perfect for my fox!).

A fresh new look Blog Hop featuring the New InColors 2021-2023

CCS Logo 2021-22

With the release of the new Annual catalogue, each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration and showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

With a fresh new look and returning to the traditional blog hop style, we hope you join us each Wednesday for some colour inspiration!

Week 1 – All the new In Colors

Tonight we are showcasing all the 5 new In Colors that have been released for the two year period, 2021 – 2023!

2021-2023 InColors Stampin Up

I have managed to incorporate all of the colours in my card tonight.

My card base is Polished Pink with a layer of Pale Papaya and then a Basic White layer. This is the layer that has that pretty lacy pattern. How did I create it? I took one of the Square Vellum Doilies and the Blending Brushes with Pale Papaya ink and moved it across the white card. Some spots I used a little more ink and faded it out. Once I was happy with the look, I splattered some Wink of Stella across it with some Pale Papaya ink using the Water Painters. Put this aside to dry.

Pansy Patch Pale Papaya card by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2021

Using the new Pale Papaya Blends Combo Markers, I coloured the Vellum Doilie. The pansies are stamped and stamped off in the same colours but to get that varied tone. Polished Pink, Fresh Freesia and Evening Evergreen. All of the new InColors are used on this card. The sentiment is stamped 3 times in Pale Papaya ink using the Stamparatus for perfect placement. I made some faux resin dots to match. A Bumblebee Trinket is added.

The sentiment on the inside is stamped in Polished Pink and another pansy added. The leaf is die cut from the Pansy Petals DSP.

Sympathy card using Stampin Up Painted Poppies by Kate Morgan Australia 2021.

The Blending Brushes are a recent addition to the SU store and they are amazing to work with. I created this soft background with So Saffron at the top and Granny Apple Green at the bottom, blending them in the centre.

The poppy is stamped in Memento Black ink and coloured with Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers; Poppy Parade & Granny Apple Green. The sentiment is stamped in Versamark ink, and heat embossed with White Emboss Powder.

Linen Thread is wrapped around three times the patterned paper layer and tied in a bow, before gluing it to a Basic White Thick cardstock base.
