Farewell Country Club

I am very sad to be saying farewell to this amazing bundle of products; Country Club suite, and the end of the month. Having parents who are keen golfers, this has been a wonderful addition to my crafting stash!

SITR Country Club Suite 2020 Mini by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia

The centre layer is a piece of 4″ x 4″ white card stock placed in the Stamparatus and stamped in a circle using a template that I made. You can find loads of video tutorials on this technique, Stamp in the Round on YouTube. The mat layer is Terracotta Tile card on the DSP and all layered onto a Garden Green card base.

Have you tried this technique? I adore it!

My next card to share with you focuses on the Designer Papers and the Stamp & Die bundle!

Farewell Beautiful Bouquet

I am very sad to be saying farewell to quite a few of the products in today’s card; the gorgeous Beautiful Bouquet Stamp set, the Best Dressed DSP and the In Color, Lovely Lipstick 😦

I have teamed these up with the Beauty Abounds stamp set, but this one is staying in the new catalogue.

Stamp in the Round card featuring Beautiful Bouquet & Beauty Abounds stamp sets & Best Dressed DSP from Stampin Up by Kate Morgan, Australia

I placed a piece of 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ white card stock in the Stamparatus and stamped in a circle using a template. You can find loads of video tutorials on this technique, Stamp in the Round on YouTube. The mat layers are Lovely Lipstick placed on a White card base.

Have you tried this technique? It is such a fun way to create a card and especially if you like to be precise with your layouts 😉

Peaceful Moments Double Gate Fold Card with Instructions

Tonight’s card is a Double Gate Fold design to show off this gorgeous designer paper!

Cut a piece of 12″ x 12″ DSP down to 5½” x 12″ and score it at 2″, 4″, 8″, 10″.
From each of the top corners, measure down 2¾” and mark with a pencil. From that pencil mark, up to the first scoreline, cut the corner off and glue it to the bottom right corner of the card (flipping the design over). Repeat this on the other side!

Gently fold your scorelines (mountain fold, valley fold, valley fold, mountain fold) to create this card.

For the inside:
Poppy Parade card – 5” x 3½”
Whisper White card – 4¾” x 3¼”
Stamp your sentiment in Black ink and add the poppies elements.

The poppy and elements are added last (be careful to add glue on the left side only!)

Masking Little Ladybugs

Have a look at this single layer card often known as Simple Stamping! It has loads of colour and doesn’t necessarily need lots of layers, just simple colouring.

However, if you look a little closer, you may see that I have used the Masking Technique with the flowers to give the feeling of depth in the images.

Art with Heart Blog Hop: Boxes and Gift Bags

AWHT Blog Hop - Gift Boxes and Bags.jpg

The Art With Heart Team are back with another inspirational Blog Hop. This month we are featuring Gift Bags and Boxes, just in time for the Christmas gift giving season. The bags and boxes featured are all made using current Stampin’ Up! products and any of our wonderful team members are happy to help you with the supplies you will need to reproduce these beautiful projects.

If you’re already hopping, then you just came to me from the talented, Tina Gillespie. If you’re just joining, great! Use the “next” button at the end of my post to hop all the way around. Blog Hops are full circles, so you can start hopping here and then at the end of each post there is a link to the next one. There is also a list of participants at the end in case of any broken links.

Now let’s get started!

On Saturday 16 November I attended OnStage in Sydney, an event for demonstrators only,  and I created this box for my dear friend Cathy, who picked me up from the airport and allowed me to stay with her and her family on the north shore for 2 nights. We have become wonderful friends through our love of Stampin’ Up! over the last few years and I knew her love for Haigh’s Chocolates, so I wanted to get some for her as a thank you!

IMG_0337.jpg

I knew it had to be fairly large to fit a couple of packs of chocolates inside, so I started with the base of the box. I placed it on the Simply Scored and placed one pack of the chocolates in the centre to see where the scorelines needed the be. I used a piece of the Noble Peacock Specialty Designer Series Paper, 12″ x 11¼” and scored each side at 3¾”. Cut as shown below and add Tear N Tape.

Haighs Gift Box measurements.jpg

The lid is a piece of Silver Foil, 6¾” x 7½” and scored on all 4 sides at 1½”. I love the Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon and it coordinated perfectly with the blues of this project and I know Cathy loves these colours too!

My next project is a Twist N Close Box, inspired by Sam Hammond, UK. I love how this closes up, it is so clever. I’ve used the Daisy Lane Bundle (pg.23 of Annual Catalogue) to decorate it with the Woven Threads DSP.

Here’s what it looks like open and closed from the top view. I plan on sharing these in my 2020 classes.

A full list of products can be found at the end of this post.

Now it’s time to follow the blog hop to our next participant, the lovely, Kathryn Mangelsdorf.

Brightly Gleaming Bookmark Card

Tonight’s card is a gift and card all in one; a bookmark card!

I used this particular piece of Designer Paper, so the bookmark can be used all year round and doesn’t just reflect Christmas!

Card base: 10¾” x 5¾”, score at 4¼”. Rotate 180o and score again at 2¼” then perforate this line. Insert the smaller end into the Scallop Tag Topper Punch so the edge lines up with the perforation. Trim off the excess. Then decorate with Designer Paper, stamps, punches, ribbons and trims!

Sip Sip Hooray in a Buckle Fold card

Tonight I share a Buckle Fold card that I made for one of my team members who recently promoted. I think she is a star and I know she loves to party, so you will understand the products used!!!

I have used the Brightly Gleaming DSP and the Sip Sip Hooray stamp set from the Holiday catalogue. Who said this Designer Paper needed to be for Christmas projects?!!

This card looks very fancy, but really it was so quick and easy to create. Here it is open and you can see how the belt tucks into the buckle!

I stamped the wine glass in Delicata Celestial Copper metallic ink and then used the Petal Pink for the drink with some Wink of Stella over the top.

I was inspired by Lynne Dunn in the USA and you can see her YouTube tutorial here.

Mosaic Mood in Sunburst

I’ve used the Mosaic Mood DSP from the Annual catalogue for this card tonight. This is the Sunburst Technique and is a great way to showcase lots of patterns. I cut 4 different patterns of 6” x 1½” and cut each of those diagonally. Take a piece of scrap card stock and cut it 5mm smaller than your card front, cover it with Snail Adhesive. Start adding your pattern pieces from the bottom (the paper will over-hang off the card). Once you have covered the card, trim the excess off from around the card with your trimmer or scissors.

I covered the corner with a Stitched Circle Framelit in Blushing Bride and trimmed the excess hanging over the edge. The bird is fussy cut from one of the pieces of DSP and added with dimensionals. This layer is added to the Garden Green card base.

Silhouette Scenes with the Rice Background Technique

Tonight I have a card that is created using the Rice Background Technique. Really it is a watercolour wash on the Fluid 100 Watercolour paper and while it’s still very wet, sprinkle some rice (or rock salt) over it and allow it to dry without moving it. Once it is dry, the rice draws the colour from the paper. Brush off the rice and you are left with this lovely effect. Mine is used to look like rain at sunset!

Rice or Salt Background using Stampin Up Serene Silhouettes & Shimmery Black Emboss Powder by Kate Morgan, Australia 2019.jpg

I stamped the image (Silhouette Scenes) with Versamark ink and applied the Shimmer Black Emboss Powder and heat set it with the Heat Tool.

Have you ever tried this technique? If not, give it a go, it’s wonderful to learn new techniques!
