CCBH Bermuda Bay – Stained Glass Technique

CCS Logo 2021-22

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

A blog hop, also known as blog hopping, is to move from one blog to another, continuing in a full circle to read all the posts by participants in the hop. At the end of each post will be a link to continue to the next blog!

Week 4 – Bermuda Bay

Both my cards today use the same colour combination but using different products!

Colour Combination - Bermuda Bay

Card 1 – This single layer card ins just stamping and a little bling, as you always need a little bling! This card uses the Hand-Penned Petals stamp set and the Biggest Wish stamp set for the sentiment.

Hand-Penned Petals & Biggest Wish single layer card #simplestamping by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021

The images are stamped onto Basic White card layer. Once I finished stamping, I ran the edges of the card along the Night of Navy inkpad for an instant border. Glue this to the card base then finish off with some 2021-2023 In Color Jewels.

Card 2 – I had a go at a Stained Glass Window Technique – simply using alcohol markers (Stampin’ Blends) to colour the back of the window sheet that has been stamped on the front with Stazon Black ink with the Butterfly Brilliance stamp set! The card base has been embossed with the Stitched Greenery die.

The frame is die cut using the Stitched Rectangle Dies a few times and gluing them together for some depth. Then using some Foam Adhesive Strips to add space from the Shimmery White card behind.

I love how it creates this shadowy effect.

Masking Little Ladybugs

Have a look at this single layer card often known as Simple Stamping! It has loads of colour and doesn’t necessarily need lots of layers, just simple colouring.

However, if you look a little closer, you may see that I have used the Masking Technique with the flowers to give the feeling of depth in the images.

The inside has a sentiment and some more of the little ladybugs stamped across the bottom and coloured with Stampin’ Blends Markers.

Little Ladybug & Bee

How adorable are these little ladybugs and bees?!!! Did you notice I have a bee on my card? I’ll explain how I made this ladybug into a tree shortly.

The card base is an A5 white card. The next layer is Shimmery White card stock, simply stamped and coloured. Shimmery White card is really beautiful for colouring with the Blends and it has that added shimmer!!! The background was done last with the Light Pool Party Blends Marker.

Okay, so you are wondering how I did the bee? Well, I used the Black Stampin’ Write Marker and coloured the image except the dots on the wings. Gave it a huff of breath and stamped onto the card. How cute!!!!

Christmas product for a rosey birthday

Heart of Christmas Blog Hop 2019

Even thought this is a Christmas suite of products, it doesn’t have to necessarily be used for Christmas cards. I am sharing a card tonight that I have made for a family member who loves flowers, especially roses and as soon as I saw this paper I knew it had to be used for her birthday card. This card is super simple and for the Beginner Stamper in mind, as it is mainly using the gorgeous Designer Paper as the focus.

Using another of the Ornate Frames Dies adds a gorgeous filigree pattern for the sentiment to be stamped in metallic ink.  Wrapping some Gold ribbon around the centre over the paper joins and adding a bow in the same ribbon.

The inside of the card has some more of the same Designer Paper glued to a strip of Cherry Cobbler card and glued to some Whisper White card.

Heart of Christmas: Week 2

Heart of Christmas Blog Hop 2019

Here we go – Week 2 of the Heart of Christmas for 2019!

Brightly Gleaming Suite again – sorry, but I adore this suite and you will be seeing loads of projects with these amazing products. This card is so super simple and easy to make in multiples.

The A5 card base (4-1/8″ x 11-11/16″) is Pretty Peacock with two strips of Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP; 2″ x 5-7/8″ and 3/4″ x 5-7/8″. Glue these to the front starting with the larger one, lining it up, flush on the left side.

Christmas card 2019 using Stampin Up Brightly Gleaming Suite by Kate Morgan Australia..JPG

Now you can add the Brightly Gleaming Foil Elements (two branches) and the bauble. Tie a small piece of copper metallic thread through the top of the bauble and place the ends in the centre of the branches before adding the Star Designer Element to hold it in place.

Stamp the sentiment (Christmas Gleaming) on Very Vanilla card with the Celestial Delicata Copper ink pad and cut it out with scissors and adhere to the card with dimensionals.

This Designer paper really is the star of the card and you really don’t need to be an avid crafter to create these projects. This is a wonderful card for the Beginner stamper.

Simple Stamping for the AWHT Blog Hop

Simple Stamping Blog Hop.jpg

Tonight the Art with Heart team are sharing creative projects featuring Simple Stamping, which means our projects feature only paper, stamps and ink. It’s a great way to create a quick and easy card for new stampers or for when you need a card at short notice. These projects highlight how Stampin’ Up! ink, paper and card stock coordinates perfectly.

If you would like a copy of the 2019 – 2020 annual catalogue, contact any of the girls on the blog hop and we will get in touch with you.

If you’re already hopping, then you just came to me from the lovely, Christina Barnes. If you’re just joining, great! Use the “next” button at the end of my post to hop all the way around. Blog Hops are full circles, so you can start hopping here and then at the end of each post there is a link to the next one. There is also a list of participants at the end in case of any broken links.

Now let’s get started!

Card 1: This doesn’t have a lot of stamping, just the one sentiment stamped onto vellum, but it showcases some of the stunning Designer papers Stampin’ Up! produce. Just one piece of DSP cut twice evenly and glued to the card. A very simple way to use stamps, ink & paper!

Simple Stamping using Stampin Up Beautiful Friendship & See a Silhouette DSP by Kate Morgan, Australia 2019.JPG

Card 2: created using the Clear Stamp Block ‘E’ as a stamp, pressing it directly onto the stamp pad. I used Daffodil Delight in the centre and then added Balmy Blue at one end and Pear Pizzazz at the other. Then I spritzed it with some water before stamping the block directly onto the Shimmery White card.

While waiting for this to dry, go ahead and fold your Pear Pizzazz card base in half and add a layer of Basic Black card. Now that the ink has dried, stamp the branch & flowers (Colourful Seasons stamp set) and the girl on the swing and sentiment (Silhouette Scenes stamp set) all in Memento Black ink. Glue this layer to the card.

Don’t you just love swinging on a swing? This was one of my “perfect places to be” when I was a kid!!!

Card 3: uses the gorgeous stamp sets, Beautiful FriendshipI had a piece of paper in the shape of an oval sitting on my desk, so I placed it in the centre of the card and stamped the floral images around it, creating that central focus point.

Simple Stamping using Stampin Up Beautiful Friendship & Kindness & Compassion by Kate Morgan, Australia 2019.

Then I stamped the sentiment using the new Kindness & Compassion stamp set.

Cards 4&5: are some Thank you cards for my daughter’s netball coaches. Their team are called the ‘Roses’, so I thought Beautiful Friendship was the perfect stamp set to use. The images are stamped in Petal Pink, Flirty Flamingo, Purple Posy, Granny Apple Green for the leaves, sentiment and card base.

I adore this one with the roses stamped in Mango Melody and Calypso Coral. The other colours are the same as the previous card. The sentiment is from the

It certainly was a challenge to create SIP (stamps, ink & paper) cards, but they can be just as effective! Why don’t you give them a go?!!!

A full list of products can be found at the bottom of this post.

Now it’s time to follow the blog hop to our next participant, the talented, Rachel Palmieri.

Welcome to another Art With Heart Team Colour Creations weekly Blog Hop. Today we are featuring Lemon Lime Twist!!!

I am giving you a sneak peek of a new stamp set that will be available in the 2019 Occasions catalogue. I won this as my Prize Patrol set at the OnStage event for demonstrators last Saturday! It is called Wonderful Romance.

My card base is Old Olive with a layer of Lemon Lime Twist and then I have stamped the image in Sahara Sand on Whisper White card. The sentiment is also stamped in Lemon Lime Twist.

I don’t think the photo does it justice, but the larger leaves are coloured with Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Write Marker and then a layer of the Fine Tip Glue added for the shiny look. The other leaves are coloured with Soft Sea Foam & Old Olive and the flowers are Lovely Lipstick! Each flower has an enamel dot in the centre (these are new too!) and the bow is Linen Thread.
