Heirloom texture and embossing

When I started this card, I had the White card embossed with the Scripty Embossing Folder and the Tasteful backgrounds dies cut in Copper Foil and glued to the centre, but then I was stuck for inspiration on how to continue and finish this card.

Anyway, after a few weeks on the sidelines, it finally came to me like a light bulb moment, so to speak! I wanted to keep it delicate and so added the Petal Pink card base and then the oval Heirloom 3D Embossing folder and die to frame the copper picture.

I also purchased the Ornate Frames Dies from the Holiday catalogue in my pre-order, so I got those out and the Celestial Copper ink pad and stamped Happy Birthday, because we all need plenty of those cards! This new metallic ink pad dries really well and won’t smudge if left to dry. You can use the Heat Tool to dry it quicker, but it is so much better than the old Metallic Encore ink pads we used to have. I will have to place another order to add the Silver and Gold ones to my stash now I know how good they are!

I tied a bow with some copper trim and added it to the centre with a glue dot. So in the end, I was very happy with how this turned out. What do you think?

Heart of Christmas – Week 3 with a Bookmark card and instructions!

Heart of Christmas Blog Hop 2019

Today has been a big start to the release of the Holiday catalogue – click the image to download your copy and start shopping – you won’t be disappointed!

2019 Holiday catalogue image Craft with Kate

Tonight I have a 4″ x 4″ bookmark card using the Brightly Gleaming Suite.

Bookmark card using Stampin Up Brightly Gleaming suite by Kate Morgan, Australia 2019 Holiday catalogue.jpg

Start with a Mossy Meadow card base 10¾” x 4⅛”.
Score at 4¼” then turn the card 90o and score again at 2¼” and then perforate this line.
Insert the smaller end into the Scallop Tag Topper Punch so the edge lines up with the perforation, punch, then trim off the excess.

Bookmark card using Stampin Up Brightly Gleaming suite by Kate Morgan, Australia 2019 Holiday catalogue open

To decorate:
1 x DSP to 3⅞” x 3⅞”.
1 x DSP 2” x 4” and punch with the scallop tag topper punch and glue to the bookmark.
1 piece 3” x 3” for the front and 1 piece 4″ x 4″ Very Vanilla card for the inside. Rub the edges of the 3″ x 3″ card with the Celestial Copper Delicata Metallic Ink pad.
Stamp the holly images (Mossy Meadow ink) and fussy cut before adhering to the Very Vanilla square with dimensionals. Punch 2 x small baubles from DSP and 1 x larger one in Copper Foil, then emboss it with the Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder.

Stamp the sentiments in the Celestial Copper ink. On the inside of the card, the string is actually created by running the edge of a metal ruler on the Celestial Copper ink pad and using it as a stamp!
Finish off with a coordinating piece of ribbon. I used a bambi stapler to hold it.

and here’s a coordinating bon bon but slightly smaller than the one I shared in last week’s Christmas Blog Hop (you can see the instructions here). The only difference is that I made this one shorter starting with 8″ x 8½” Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP. All the other instructions are the same!

Christmas Blog Hop with the Art with Heart Team

Art With Heart Christmas Blog Hop 2019

Tonight the Art with Heart team are sharing creative Christmas projects, many featuring products from the upcoming Holiday Catalogue which starts on 4 September.

If you would like a copy of the 2019 – 2020 Annual catalogue or the new Holiday catalogue, contact any of the girls on the blog hop and we will get in touch with you.

If you’re already hopping, then you just came to me from the talented, Claire Daly. If you’re just joining, great! Use the “next” button at the end of my post to hop all the way around. Blog Hops are full circles, so you can start hopping here and then at the end of each post there is a link to the next one. There is also a list of participants at the end in case of any broken links.

Now let’s get started!

I have made a card and a coordinating Christmas Bon Bon for tonight’s hop using the Brightly Gleaming Suite of products from the new Holiday catalogue.

AWH Christmas Blog Hop 2019 using Stampin Up Brightly Gleaming Suite by Kate Morgan Australia.JPG

My Night of Navy card base (29.7cm x 10.5cm) is folded in half. I added a piece of DSP and then a piece of vellum. I stamped the holly in Mossy Meadow ink onto Very Vanilla card twice. I coloured the leaves with the AquaPainter and Mossy Meadow ink. The berries are coloured by putting a bit of the Celestial Copper ink pad onto a clear block and used my Wink of Stella to pick up some of the colour to add to the berries (the photo doesn’t do it justice). The Brightly Gleaming Foil Elements are used for the leaves behind for extra interest.

The sentiment is also stamped with the Celestial Copper ink onto Very Vanilla card and cut out using scissors. It is added with dimensionals. Each of the baubles is created using 6 of the small ornament punched pieces, scored in half and joined together with Tombo Multipurpose Glue. A small copper star element is added at the top of each bauble. I used a Copper Sharpie to hand draw the strings.

This next image is directly from the Holiday catalogue and I loved that we can use this amazing specialty paper and the punch to make Christmas Bon Bons. So of course I had to make one too!

2019_HOL_P31_A-11.jpg

So here is mine to coordinate with my card!

AWH Christmas Blog Hop 2019 using Stampin Up Brightly Gleaming Suite by Kate Morgan, Australia..JPG

To make my Christmas Bon Bon with the Brightly Gleaming Suite
I used a piece of 12″ x 8½” Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP.
Place the 8½” side into the Simply Scored and score at 1¾”, 3½”, 5¼”, 7″.
Gently fold on each scoreline.
Using the smaller of the two ornament punches, push the punch all the way into the DSP, centring it on each scoreline and punch on both sides (Keep these punched pieces to make a card).
Place the 12″ side in the Simply Scored, and carefully score both ends at 1½”.

Gently fold on the scorelines so that the short ends are folded back onto the side you want showing.
Fold the Bon Bon into the tube shape and push it down flat with the shorter end on the inside.
Place a strip of Tear & Tape along the edge, and join them together (you may need to insert the punch again to punch out the 1/2 punched shapes).
Push in the ends and tie some of the ½” Classic Weave Ribbon into a bow, but remember to add your treats before you do!

Now it’s time to follow the blog hop to our next participant, Sujatha Harding.

Heart of Christmas: Week 2

Heart of Christmas Blog Hop 2019

Here we go – Week 2 of the Heart of Christmas for 2019!

Brightly Gleaming Suite again – sorry, but I adore this suite and you will be seeing loads of projects with these amazing products. This card is so super simple and easy to make in multiples.

The A5 card base (4-1/8″ x 11-11/16″) is Pretty Peacock with two strips of Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP; 2″ x 5-7/8″ and 3/4″ x 5-7/8″. Glue these to the front starting with the larger one, lining it up, flush on the left side.

Now you can add the Brightly Gleaming Foil Elements (two branches) and the bauble. Tie a small piece of copper metallic thread through the top of the bauble and place the ends in the centre of the branches before adding the Star Designer Element to hold it in place.

Stamp the sentiment (Christmas Gleaming) on Very Vanilla card with the Celestial Delicata Copper ink pad and cut it out with scissors and adhere to the card with dimensionals.

This Designer paper really is the star of the card and you really don’t need to be an avid crafter to create these projects. This is a wonderful card for the Beginner stamper.

A Good Man is very masculine

Tonight I have a masculine card using the stamp set, A Good Man!

A Good Man masculine card by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2019.JPG

I adore these images and just looking at it makes me take a deep breathe and think of relaxing by the seaside, and taking time for ourselves to just breathe.

This is also perfect timing with Father’s Day coming up and the images in this set are just ideal for that special man in your life.

The image is coloured using Stampin’ Blends markers; Pretty Peacock & Seaside Spray Combos and Light Crumb Cake for the skin tones and Light Pool Party framing around the entire image to add some depth.

Here is another one I made with a different image.

Heart of Christmas: Week 1

Heart of Christmas Blog Hop 2019

Here we go again! If you have been following my blog for a while, you may recall the Heart of Christmas weekly inspiration we did last year. Well, we are starting it again here with Week 1 of the Heart of Christmas for 2019!

This is a brilliant way to start creating those cards for Christmas, as so often we think we have loads of time later on, but time just passes by and then we struggle to create in bulk before the big day. Starting earlier and join us, being inspired by the amazing creations of our team ladies and start your journey today.

Tonight I am sharing a sneak peek of some new product coming in the Holiday catalogue available to purchase in 2 weeks! These were the very first products added to my shopping cart when I browsed the catalogue; I just loved the entire suite and had to have it all.

I am beginning with the Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper, Brightly Gleaming Foil Elements, Star Designer Elements, along with the Christmas Gleaming stamp set.

Christmas card 2019 using Stampin Up Brightly Gleaming Suite by Kate Morgan Australia.JPG

This paper has gorgeous copper foil accents on one side of each of the sheets of paper and it is stunning. I was drawn to the colours in this pack; Mossy Meadow, Night of Navy, Pretty Peacock, Very Vanilla, Copper Foil.

I  love the embellishments that also come in this suite. The tiny stars and the foil elements that you just add to your project with Tombo Multipurpose glue.

Super Simple water-coloured Magnolias

Tonight’s card focuses on the Magnolia embossing folder and how to colour the flowers with an AquaPainter and some inkpads. By squashing the inkpad into the lid before opening it, gives you enough of a colour palette to work with. Squeezer the AquaPainter to get a drop or two of water into the ink to get the brush going, swirl it around and then gently add the colour to the flower.

The colour will lighten as it dries. Wait for it to dry completely before gluing the layer to your card. The sentiment (Very Versailles stamp set) is stamped in Soft Seam Foam ink on the same colour card and added with dimensionals.

I added some Wink of Stella to the stamen for a bit of glimmer and extra interest.

Fanciful Fragrance in classic blue and white

Okay, I have to admit it, Seaside Spray is probably my favourite new In Colour, but I could also be bias as my favourite colour is blue!

Blue and white is a classic combination and I’m using just these two in this card.

I have created a few layers. The card base is actually Whisper White with a layer of Seaside Spray that has been embossed with the new Scripty 3D embossing folder.

The next layer is also seaside spray stamped around the edges in the floral image Fanciful Fragrance) multiple times and a sponge dauber used around the edges to darken it. Then I stamped the perfume images (Fanciful Fragrance) in the centre with Versamark ink and sprinkled white emboss powder and heat set it. This layer is attached to the card with dimensionals.

Feminine Birthday Card using Stampin Up Fanciful Fragrance & Heirloom 3D Embossing & Dies by Kate Morgan, Australia 2019

The Heirloom Frames dies and 3D embossing folders were used to create the frame. I inked the edges of the frame (inside and outside) with the Versamark inkpad and dipped the frame in the white emboss powder, heat set it. It also appears shiny for a classy look!

This frame is added with dimensionals. The sentiment (Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp set) is stamped and cut using the Classic Label punch.

What do you like about this card? I would love some feedback.

Another milestone with Double figures!

Today we had another milestone in our house; my baby turned 10 and it is truly a bit of a shock to us! How did that happen…. a teenager and a 10 year old in two weeks?!!! LOL

Anyway, she wanted a card with flowers on it, so of course my go to floral stamp set at the moment is Beautiful Friendship, so that it what was used.

Beautiful Friendship – $38.00 (#149252)

Here is her card!

10th birthday card feminine using Stampin Up Beautiful Friendship stamp set by Kate Morgan, Australia 2019..JPG

I used the retired Little Numbers dies (I’ll never get rid of them!) and the wishes is from the Well Written Dies. How awesome does this look with the glittery black organdy ribbon and the black border of the Nested Labels dies?!! I added some Wink of Stella to the number 10 too.

10th birthday card feminine using Stampin Up Beautiful Friendship stamp set by Kate Morgan, Australia 2019

My daughter loves aqua, so I thought the Coastal Cabana cardstock was a good choice for the base card. On the inside, I stamped the rose and leaves and then added the gorgeous and perfect sentiment from the same stamp set to the centre. I was really happy with how this card turned out and she loved it!
