Teenage Birthday Pop Up Giftcard Holder

2023-2024 AWH Colour Creations header

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 26 – Gorgeous Grape

Today’s card was made for my niece who recently celebrated her birthday.  As I never know what to get a teenager these days, I just give her cash or a gift card to spend on whatever she likes, so why not make a pop up gift card holder within the card!

I love this colour combination of Gorgeous Grape with Fresh Freesia and Basic White. The beautiful designer papers really help to bring this card together. The floral pattern is from the Delightfully Eclectic DSP pack and the others are part of the Subtles 6″ x 6″ DSP pack.

The Share a Milkshake stamp set and coordinating dies were the perfect images for a teenager, right?!! I mean who doesn’t love a good milkshake?!

Those Deckled Rectangles were perfect choice for with a little bit of sponging around the border with the same colour ink, as it just blended in with the background.

On the inside is where the mechanism is for the gift card holder to slide up as the card opens. At the top, I added some basic white card to write a message. Those cute little hearts are from the Share a Milkshake dies too. I also gave them a kiss with Wink of Stella magic!!! The sentiment is from the Throughout the Year stamp set. The envelope was stamped with some more hearts in Gorgeous Grape.

Week 17 – Cherry Cobbler

Today I have another ‘new to me’ Bundle, Time Together. but it is actually in the Annual catalogue. So, tonight I am using some old and new products!

On my Cherry Cobbler card base, is another layer that was dry embossed with the new Distressed Tile 3D embossing folder. I also used my open Paper Snips to distress the edges. The next layer is a piece of floral patterned paper from the Delightfully Eclectic DSP which is cut using the Countryside Corners die. The hour glass was stamped in Crumb Cake ink and die cut with the coordiating dies. The sand is stamped in Cherry Cobbler. This is added to the DSP on dimensionals. The floral images on either side are stamped in Crumb Cake and coloured using the Bubble Bath Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers and glued in place.

Time Together by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2023 Cherry Cobbler colour creations blog hop

The sentiment is stamped and die cut and a dimensional on either end so it sits up across the hour glass. Those cute little hearts are from one of the dies in the set. It’s a large heart with little ones inside that I wasn’t going to throw away. Before I glued all the layers together, I felt the dry embossed layer needed a bit more, so I took a sponge dauber and Tombo multipurpose glue, and gently tapped it around the edges. This glue stays sticky for a little while, so I had time to go back and rub on some Gilded Leafing.

Time Together by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2023 Cherry Cobbler colour creations blog hop side

Do you see those sparkly bits? Well that is some of the new White Iridescent Ribbon. I pulled the threads from one end and it turns into these slippery threads. I also added some Wink of Stella to the sand (hard to see in the photo).

On the inside, a few more die cut pieces and stamped flowers from the bundle.

Abundant Beauty in Calypso Coral

2023-2024 AWH Colour Creations header

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 16 – Calypso Coral

Today’s card uses the Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks that will be available in the upcoming Mini catalogue (6 Sept – 3 Jan).  I love that there are 7 masks in the pack and they are only $18.50. Four of them make up the sunflowers, the other three are snowflakes, autumn leaves and houndstooth patterns.

Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks purchase from Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2023.

They are so easy to line up when using the notch on top left of each mask and they are numbered!

Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks purchase from Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2023

I started by placing a piece of Basic White card on my Silicone Mat Sheet and using the Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks for the sunflowers first. I used Flirty Flamingo with Calypso Coral and then moved to the leaves using Boho Blue and Misty Moonlight. These were also used in the centres of the flowers. Once I was happy with the colours, I ran it through my Embossing Machine in the Distressed Tile 3D Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

I roughed up the edges with the blade of my Paper Snips. I wrapped some Linen Thread around the lower section 3 times and tied in a bow. I adhered this to a narrow matt of Misty Moonlight card, then onto my Calypso Coral card base.

The sentiment from the Level Complete stamp set was heat embossed in White Emboss Powder and cut using a small die from the Something Fancy dies. This was popped up on Dimensionals. Some Iridescent Pastel Gems were added last.

On the inside, I used a Sponge Dauber with Calypso Coral ink around the edges. I did some more blending with the masks in the corners. The sentiment from Phrases for All, was inked using sponge daubers to apply the ink to the stamp, then onto the card.

Sending Love with Blackberry Bliss

2023-2024 AWH Colour Creations header

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 13 – Blackberry Bliss

Blackberry Bliss is a very dark tone and sometimes I find it hard to know where to start with using it.

This card began with a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolour paper which I had every intension of doing watercolouring, but things changed as I went… I added Bubble Bath and Fresh Freesia ink with my Blending Brushes. Once I had a lovely soft marble type layer, I die cut the largest die from the Two-tone Flora dies, turned it to the reverse side, and gently added some Blackberry Bliss ink with a Blending Brush using the die cut as a stencil.

I was going to add some flicks of Wink of Stella, but it came out in a gush (oops) so I ended up having to cover the entire piece. How sparkly does it look though? It is even better in real life!!!

Masked glittery background Feminine card by Kate Morgan Sttampin Up Australia 2023 Blackberry Bliss Two Tone Flora sparkle

I die cut the two largest dies from the Radiating Stitches Dies to create the border. This was glued to the Watercolour piece. I added a Lemon Lime Twist matt layer for this to sit on and then onto my Blackberry Bliss card base.

The flowers are stamped on Bubble Bath card with the details in Blackberry Bliss ink. The solid stamps are Fresh Freesia and Bubble Bath inks. The leaves are stamped in Lemon Lime Twist onto Basic White card for a nice pop of colour and to also coordinate with the background layer. These were all die cut with the Two-tone Flora dies. I cut a piece of Gold Satin Edged ribbon in half lengthwise with Paper Snips and adhered it down with Stampin’ Seal before adding the flowers & leaves on Mini Dimensionals.

The sentiment from the Dainty Delight stamp set was partially inked with Versamark ink and stamped onto Blackberry Bliss card. White Emboss Powder was added and melted with my Heat Tool.  This was cut using a die from the Share a Milkshake dies. I felt it was a little bright, so I covered the sentiment with my Dark Bubble Bath Blends Marker. I finished with some Pastel Adhesive-backed Sequins.

On the insde, I added a Basic White layer on a Bubble Bath matt and added another flower and leaves. I did the same on the envelope!

Cathedral Window card and a Fancy Fold card

2023-2024 AWH Colour Creations header

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 12 – Berry Burst

Today I have a Cathedral Window card using the Bright & Beautiful 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. Using the scallop circle (inner piece) from the Give it a Whirl dies, I cut 10 x 1½” circles from different patterns within the pack (if you have a 1½” circle punch it would be easier to punch the circles). I also cut a 1″ x 1″ square from black card as my template.

Cathedral Window card by Kate Morgan Sttampin Up Australia 2023 Berry Burst

Using a piece of foam or a piercing mat, place the 1” square piece into the centre of a circle and using a stylus, trace around the square. Do this to all 10 circles. Fold the edges up against the square card. Remove the black card and use the bone folder to flatten each edge.

Template for easy layoutCathedral Window template
Cut a 4” square of grid paper. Draw a diagonal line > rotate the paper and draw a 1cm line across the centre. Place in the trimmer so the diagonal line is at the ¾” mark and cut > repeat on the other side (cut lines in orange).

Cover the template in Stampin’ Seal & start with the 1st piece in the centre and continue to build to either side. Having the grid makes it super easy to line up!

Cathedral Window steps

Take a Thick Basic White card base, dry emboss the front with the Splatters Embossing folder, then glue the feature across the centre. I added some gold Festive Pearls to the centre joins and some Pastel Adhesive-backed Sequins to finish it off.

On the inside I added a Basic White layer mounted onto a Berry Burst matt. The sentiment was cut using the Wanted to Say dies.

This next card is very simple and the pretty Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper (DSP) does all the work for you.

Dainty Delight Delightfully Eclectic Feminine Fancy Fold card by Kate Morgan Sttampin Up Australia 2023 Berry Burst.

The Dainty Delight stamp set was used for the flowers and the sentiment. The image is coloured using Blender Pens and inks; Berry Burst, Bubble Bath & Garden Green. A sponge dauber added some ink to the edge of the white card to soften it. Some Iridescent Pearl Jewels finished it nicely. I left the message panel blank so it could be used for any occasion.

Although this DSP doesn’t have Berry Burst in it, I felt like the centre of the flowers matched really well. I cut another piece of Berry Burst card to have as the card base to make it a little more sturdy.

A left over strip of the DSP is added to the envelope!

Countryside Corners Trifold card with Tutorial!

Today I have a Trifold card using the Countryside Corners dies to create the card base.

When I initially came up with my first card design in Soft Succulent tones (you can see it here), I had so many lovely comments and people asking how I made it. Well today, while I’m on Annual Leave for the school holidays, I had time to try and recreate it, however, I found an easier way. The tutorial link will be listed below.

Let’s open this card to see what is inside. The Dry Brushed Metallic Specialty DSP was used with one of the smaller size dies and it is so pretty! The Dainty Delight dies and Grove dies were used to cut the flowers and leaves for this panel using Calypso Coral, Lemon Lolly and Lost Lagoon. The Basic White background is cut using the Something Fancy dies.

Introducing Lemon Lolly

2023-2024 AWH Colour Creations header

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 8 – Lemon Lolly

Today brings us to another new core colour to the Subtles Collection, Lemon Lolly. This gorgeous pale yellow is a new favourite of mine too!

For this fancy fold card, I am using the Cheerful Daisies bundle with the gorgeous Fresh as a Daisy DSP, which just happens to be 15% off this month in my online store. The DSP on the front panel is the 2023-2024 Regals 6×6 DSP pack.

All the measurements for this card are listed at the end of this post.

Lemon Lolly is the cardstock used with the pretty daisies die cut in Basic White. The leaves are Garden Green ink and applied tot he white card with a Blending Brush before being die cut. The Blending brush was also used to apply Lemon Lolly ink to the daisy centres.

The sentiment (Biggest Wish stamp set) is stamped in Versamark ink onto Lemon Lolly card, Gold Emboss Powder added and melted with my Heat Tool. This was die cut using the Nested Essentials Dies. I left the cardstock in the die and used a Bleding Brush to add Lemon Lolly ink. As you can see, it makes the sentiment stand our even more leaving a lighter border!

Introducing Bubble Bath

2023-2024 AWH Colour Creations header

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 7 – Bubble Bath

Today brings us to a new core colour to the Subtles Collection, Bubble Bath. This gorgeous pale pink is definitely a favourite of mine!

I wanted to stick to pastel tones today and decided on this combination; Boho Blue, Bubble Bath and Lemon Lolly.  I used the alcohol ink blending technique, by taking the Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers in these colours and scribbled them onto a piece of Vellum. Using some Isocol Rubbing Alcohol, I dripped it gently over the vellum, then took a straw and blew the alcohol around to blend the colours a little and set it aside to dry.

Ink Blending Technique Bubble Bath colour creations blog hop 2023 by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2023

Using the Gorgeous Garden die, I cut a piece of Basic White card. I had a frame piece of Bubble Bath card left over from a previous project, so that was glued over the border to frame the white die cut piece. Now the vellum is dry, I glued it behind for a lovely soft background.  This is now glued to a Bubble Bath card base.

Ink Blending Technique Bubble Bath colour creations blog hop 2023 by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2023 happy birthday

The Nested Essential dies was used to cut a Bubble Bath piece to put my sentiment on. This ‘happy birthday’ from the Wanted to Say dies, was cut from Basic Black card and Silver Foil and popped up on Black Dimensionals. A piece of Bubble Bath Sheer Ribbon is placed behind and the Nested die cut is added on top with Dimensionals. To finish I added a few drops of Metallic Effects Basics (Silver) and set it aside to dry.

Introducing Azure Afternoon

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 6 – Azure Afternoon

Today brings us to a new core colour to the Brights Collection, Azure Afternoon. This is a lovely bright blue and reminds me of the ocean, so that was my inspiration for this card.

Coffee with Friends Azure Afternoon colour creations blog hop 2023 by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2023

I began by stamping the lady image on Basic White card in Memento Black ink and colouring it with Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers. I used Paper Snips to cut around the image before running my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker around the cut edges so you don’t see the white of the card. I wanted her sitting on a timber seat/bench, so I cut a piece of Pecan Pie card with a square from the Stylish Shapes die and ran it through my Cut & Emboss machine in the Timber 3D Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

Coffee with Friends Azure Afternoon colour creations blog hop 2023 by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2023 blends colouring

The White layer is coloured using inkpads and my blending brushes; Pecan Pie at the bottom, Balmy Blue, Boho Blue and Azure Afternoon at the top. The top section used the cloud die from the Basic Border Dies and the one below is a die in the Seaside Bay dies. I stamped the birds and the speckles of the sand in Pecan Pie ink. The bird I wanted a lot lighter, so to ink the stamp I used my blending brushes to apply the ink. I also added a little bit of Azure Afternoon to the top of the bird before stamping and cutting it out with the die. The grasses were cut from some white card that I had blended with some Parakeet Party & Azure Afternoon inkpads.

The lady and bird are addedwith Mini Dimensionals. I adhered this layer to a Pecan Pie layer with a nice thin border.

The inside is decorated in the same way, but just the bottom section, leaving plenty of room for a handwritten message.

Introducing Pebbled Path

2023-2024 AWH Colour Creations header

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 4 – Pebbled Path

Today brings us to the next new In Color, Pebbled Path. I have to say, now that I’ve had a play with this colour, I really like it and I will find myself reaching for it often, I’m sure!

Card 1
To my card base, I have attached a piece of Pretty Peacock patterned paper from the Earthen Eleganance DSP. Next, die cut a piece of Pebbled Path card with the Gorgeous Garden die and glue it to the card.

Die cut the petals, leaves, buds from the Paper Florist dies in Bubble Bath, Lost Lagoon & Moody Mauve cards. Using the Bone Folder, curl the petals a little and glue them together.

Tip: when putting the buds together, die cut the buds and leave them on the cutting plate. Take the stem, add glue behind the tops of each and adhere them to the buds for easier lining up!

Glue the leaves to the card before adding the flowers last. I also cut  piece of Linen Thread, pulled it apart so I had a thin piece, tie in a bow and add between the two flowers. To finish, I added some 2023-2025 In Color Dots & Pretty Peacock coloured Basic Rhinestone Jewels.

I wanted only one part of the sentiment (Dainty Delight), so I used the Pebbled Path marker (2023-2025 In Color Stampin’ Write Markers) directly to the stamp then onto White card and fussy cut with Paper Snips. Adhere on dimensionals. On the inside, I added a strip of the Pretty Peacock DSP & another die cut flower!

Card 2
Using similar products, this landscape card features some light watercolouring with Pebbled Path ink & Water Painters on Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper. I allowed this to dry while I did cut the flowers and glued them together.

On my card base, I’ve added a layer of the Bubble Bath piece of White Centre Specialty Paper, then some Vellum Basics Specialty Designer Series Paper. The Wanted to Say dies were used to cut the sentiment.

The leaves are cut from the wateroloured piece and the Pebbled Path piece from the 2023-2025 Luster Specialty Paper. The stamen and the top part of the sentiment are also from the watercoloured piece. The buds and flower centres are Bubble Bath card. I finished off adding some Wink of Stella and some Classic Matte Dots.
