Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.
Week 16 – Crushed Curry
Crushed Curry is certainly not my favourite yellow colour, as I find it a bit dark and hard to use. I wanted to add some much needed sunshine to our lives, as it’s been very cold and wet Winter here in Melbourne. Using the Rays of Light stamp set with the Stamparatus, I began inking and stamping onto Basic White card a couple of times to get a more even coverage. I felt it was a little too big and so cropped it with one of the Deckled Rectangle dies and another to cut the Crushed Curry matt layer. These are glued together and adhered to the card base (Tea Boutique Cards & Envelopes).
Just look how much fun this hippo is having, splashing water everywhere!!!
The hippo is stamped in Memento Black ink and coloured using Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers; Smoky Slate & Medium Combo. The snorkel and water are die cut from Tahitian Tide cardstock. The sentiment (Charming Sentiments Bundle) is stamped and die cut using the coordinating dies. This is added with Dimensionals, as it the Tub, cut from Distressed Gold Specialty paper. Doesn’t it give a lovely rusty/distressed look?!!
I couldn’t resist adding some bubbles spilling over the side and I did this using the Pearlized Enamel Effects Basics White.
Thanks for dropping by. I hope you can join me next week for inspiration using Daffodil Delight.
