CCBH Bermuda Bay – Stained Glass Technique

CCS Logo 2021-22

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

A blog hop, also known as blog hopping, is to move from one blog to another, continuing in a full circle to read all the posts by participants in the hop. At the end of each post will be a link to continue to the next blog!

Week 4 – Bermuda Bay

Both my cards today use the same colour combination but using different products!

Colour Combination - Bermuda Bay

Card 1 – This single layer card ins just stamping and a little bling, as you always need a little bling! This card uses the Hand-Penned Petals stamp set and the Biggest Wish stamp set for the sentiment.

Hand-Penned Petals & Biggest Wish single layer card #simplestamping by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021

The images are stamped onto Basic White card layer. Once I finished stamping, I ran the edges of the card along the Night of Navy inkpad for an instant border. Glue this to the card base then finish off with some 2021-2023 In Color Jewels.

Card 2 – I had a go at a Stained Glass Window Technique – simply using alcohol markers (Stampin’ Blends) to colour the back of the window sheet that has been stamped on the front with Stazon Black ink with the Butterfly Brilliance stamp set! The card base has been embossed with the Stitched Greenery die.

The frame is die cut using the Stitched Rectangle Dies a few times and gluing them together for some depth. Then using some Foam Adhesive Strips to add space from the Shimmery White card behind.

I love how it creates this shadowy effect.

Week 3 – Basic Gray

Tonight I am using the Hand-Penned Petals Bundle for this card, but I am not using the colours in the Designer Paper that coordinates in the suite. I have created my own colour combination and isn’t it super pretty?!!!

Colour Combination - Basic Gray

Card 1 – My card base, first layer and the die cut pieces are all Basic Gray card. The layer has those stripes across it and I created that by scoring every 2cm on my Trimmer with the scoring blade!

Once I had them done, I used the Basic Gray inkpad and ran it around the edges to get that depth of colour.

Hand-Penned Bundle for Basic Gray CCS by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021

The main image is stamped (Hand-Penned Petals stamp set) in Basic Gray ink and filled in using the other coloured inkpads. The sentiment is stamped in Versamark ink, white emboss powder added and heat set with the Heat Tool. This is fussy cut with Paper Snips and added to the card with dimensionals.

On the inside, I added another stamped image and die cut the top and bottom with that pretty scallop edge die in the same Penned Flowers Dies. To finish off I added some faux resin dots in coordinating colours that I made using a hole punch and Fine Tip Glue (allow to dry overnight on a Silicone Mat before adding to your card with Multipurpose Glue)!

Card 2 – Many of the products on this card are about to retire and are on sale! If you want to get these items, be quick, because once they are gone, they are gone. The Floating & Fluttering Bundle and this gorgeous Love You Always Specialty DSP are both heavily reduced in price.

Week 2 – Balmy Blue

The Hats Off stamp set and coordinating dies are fantastic value at only $61. Not only can you create masculine cards for the men and boys in your life, but you can create feminine cards too!

Tonight I have made a feminine version in Balmy Blue, Gorgeous Grape and Basic White.

Colour Combination - BB GG BW

Stamping the stars directly on the card base in Gorgeous Grape ink creates some interest. The top section is the 6″ x 6″ Subtles DSP in Balmy Blue, that I cut down to A6 size then die cut it with the Basic Borders Dies. Keep the offcut piece for the inside of the card!

Hats Off Bundle for Balmy Blue CCS by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021.

The hat is stamped and die cut and then the brim is bent up gently along the scoreline to give that realistic look of a cap. Place dimensionals only behind the hat (not the brim) and add to the card.

Hats Off Bundle for Balmy Blue CCBH by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up! Australia 2021

On the inside I stamped the Happy Birthday using the images from the Biggest Wish stamp set and added the DSP offcut from the front piece. I die cut a small hat in Balmy Blue to add to the corner.

A fresh new look Blog Hop featuring the New InColors 2021-2023

CCS Logo 2021-22

With the release of the new Annual catalogue, each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration and showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

With a fresh new look and returning to the traditional blog hop style, we hope you join us each Wednesday for some colour inspiration!

Week 1 – All the new In Colors

Tonight we are showcasing all the 5 new In Colors that have been released for the two year period, 2021 – 2023!

2021-2023 InColors Stampin Up

I have managed to incorporate all of the colours in my card tonight.

My card base is Polished Pink with a layer of Pale Papaya and then a Basic White layer. This is the layer that has that pretty lacy pattern. How did I create it? I took one of the Square Vellum Doilies and the Blending Brushes with Pale Papaya ink and moved it across the white card. Some spots I used a little more ink and faded it out. Once I was happy with the look, I splattered some Wink of Stella across it with some Pale Papaya ink using the Water Painters. Put this aside to dry.

Using the new Pale Papaya Blends Combo Markers, I coloured the Vellum Doilie. The pansies are stamped and stamped off in the same colours but to get that varied tone. Polished Pink, Fresh Freesia and Evening Evergreen. All of the new InColors are used on this card. The sentiment is stamped 3 times in Pale Papaya ink using the Stamparatus for perfect placement. I made some faux resin dots to match. A Bumblebee Trinket is added.

The sentiment on the inside is stamped in Polished Pink and another pansy added. The leaf is die cut from the Pansy Petals DSP.

Nothings Better Than a Cocktail!

AWHT Colour Creations Showcase

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Showcase to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 49 – Soft Sea Foam

Soft Sea Foam is from the Subtles collection. Today I have combined it with two of the new InColors for a really beautiful combination.

Soft Sea Foam Soft Succulent Polished Pink Basic White

I have used a Thick Basic White card base, as I find this much easier as a starting point and then I can have a white panel inside to write my message on and stamp any extra smaller images.

Next I cut a piece of Polished Pink card to A6 size and glue it to the front.  The next layer is a Strip of the new 6″ x 6″ InColor DSP in Soft Succulent. I selected this piece as it almost resembles bubbles which went with my theme!

The top layer is Soft Sea Foam which is stamped with the glasses in Soft Succulent ink and the stars in Soft Sea Foam ink. This is adhered with dimensionals.

The sentiments and the glasses are stamped in Black Memento ink onto white card and die cut.

On the inside, I stamped another cocktail, doesn’t it look delicious?!!!

I was super pleased with how this card turned out. As much as I cased it from a photo in the annual catalogue, I changed up the sentiments and colours. Case-ing (Copy & Share Everything) is a wonderful way to get inspiration for your projects if you don’t have an idea floating around in your head already. The catalogues are a wonderful source for inspiration!

Farewell Purple Posy

With the new Annual catalogue launching on 4th May, we will say farewell to 5 InColors.

2019 - 2021 In Colours

Following on from Monday’s post, I am sharing my love with the Pansy Patch Bundle again. Purple Posy is a brilliant trio with Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape. You may notice some of the new In Colors too, in Soft Succulent and Pale Papaya!

I was inspired by the pansies that I have growing in pots in my outdoor area. I love the pops of colour these gorgeous, delicate blooms provide.

IMG_4407

My card base is Gorgeous Grape, the layer is Purple Posy and the Layering Circles dies are Highland Heather. The white layer is cut using the Stitched So Sweetly dies.

Farewell Purple Posy, Pansy Patch by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2021

The large pansy is die cut from the three purples and a Pale Papaya centre. The smaller pansies are stamped in the Pale Papaya using the Stamparatus. The outline is stamped twice to get that lovely darker tone and the centre is stamped off once for a much lighter tone. The leaves are done the same way with Soft Succulent ink.

On the inside a single pansy is stamped and a small strip of Purple Posy card down the left side, with plenty of room to write a birthday message.

Pierced Blooms in Seaside Spray

AWHT Colour Creations Showcase

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Showcase to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 45 – Seaside Spray

Seaside Spray is from the 2019-2021 In Color collection. It is one of my favourites and I am sure going to miss it when it retires on 3 May.

Pierced Blooms Seaside Spray Feminine card by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021

The Hydrangea Hill DSP is embossed with the Subtle 3D Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and glued to a white card base. I die cut a variety of flowers and leaves using the Pierced Blooms dies in Seaside Spray, Soft Sea Foam and Purple Posy cardstock. The vellum layer is die cut using the Flowering Vine dies.

The sentiment panel is stamped (Beautiful Friendship stamp set) and die cut. After cutting, turn it over still in the die and run a stylus around the edge to give it that extra embossed edge. Fold some ribbon behind the sentiment and add some dimensionals at either end to adhere it to the card.

To finish, I added some Faux Resin dots, Rhinestone Jewels and Butterfly Gems.

Sneak Peek with Pansies Galour!

With the new Annual catalogue launching on 4th May, I thought I would share some sneak peek items to get you as excited as me. I am in love with the Pansy Patch Bundle, in fact the entire Pansy Petals Suite!

The designer paper has all of the new In Colors and more. You will also see the Basic Borders dies in use on each card – these are a must have item to add to your supplies – I just love them and know I will use them heaps.

Meet Pale Papaya and the gorgeous Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper. Each of these cards has a strip of DSP on the inside, which shows through to the fronts of the cards. The InColor ribbon is so beautiful, as are the InColor Jewels. The pansies on the front are cut from the DSP with the dies.

Vine Design Feminine card

AWHT Colour Creations Showcase

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Showcase to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 44 – Sahara Sand

Sahara Sand is from the Neutrals collection.

I have used the very pretty Vine Design Bundle for my card tonight and teamed Sahara Sand with Rococo Rose and White. Rococo Rose is one of the outgoing InColors and I sure will miss it. How gorgeous does it look with Sahara Sand?!!!

I love to use a white card base, so I designed my card front onto a Rococo Rose A6 piece of card.

I die cut the large rectangle die (Flowering Vine Dies) in Sahara Sand and cut it in half so I could glue half at the top section of the card front and half at the bottom.

Vine Design Sahara Sand Feminine card by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021

The leaves are stamped onto a piece of white card. I stamped the small flowers onto some scrap white card and die cut them with the coordinating dies, adding a small rhinestone to the centres.

I glued the stamped white layer onto some Rococo Rose card and then onto some Sahara Sand card to add some layers. Once these were glued together, I wrapped around some Rococo Rose scalloped trim at one end and tied in a knot. I added the edges from the dimensionals pack around the back and placed it in the centre of the card.

Vine Design Sahara Sand Colour Creations Showcase Feminine card by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021 sq

I stamped and die cut the sentiment, trimming off the left edge with Paper Snips so it could slide in under one of the flowers.

Each of the small flowers are added with a mini dimensional and I also added some of the cute Butterfly Gems that coordinate perfectly.

Monthly Creative Showcase: Mother’s Day

AWHT Creative Showcase

For tonight’s showcase, we are featuring Mother’s Day which is celebrated in Australia on 9th May!

Mother's Day card for Monthly Showcase, Stampin Up by Kate Morgan, Australia 2021

A Gorgeous Grape card base with some of the Hydrangea Hill DSP was the perfect start for my Mother’s Day card. I remember having Hydrangea’s in our garden growing up and these colours remind me of mum!

Gorgeous Grape Purple Posy Basic White

I stamped off the hydrangea image from the Beautiful Friendship stamp set (unfortunately it has sold out since I made this card) before stamping it onto Basic White card. Then I die cut the panel and used the stylus (from the Simply Scored) around the edges on the back while it was still in the die. This gives that beautiful embossed edge. Stamp the ‘you’ in the same ink at full strength. The butterflies are from the Floating & Fluttering Bundle and die cut in Purple Posy card. The Forever & Always Bundle has the dies to create the ‘love’ which is popped up on Black Dimensionals.

Mother's Day card using Stampin Up by Kate Morgan, Australia 2021 sq

On the inside I added a 1″ strip of DSP down the side and some basic white card to write my message. I stamped the sentiment in Gorgeous Grape and added some Purple Posy die cut flowers.
