Under the Sea Textures

Dear Crafters,

Today I share a card with more of a masculine theme. As you know, I struggle with these types of cards, but this Sea of Textures bundle had me excited when I first saw it. In conjunction with the new Embossing Mats, it gives so many more options to add texture with the cutting dies!!!

Sea of Textures Under the Sea card Stampin Up by Kate Morgan, Australia 2018.

See that white coral die cut piece in the bottom corner? Well, I used that same die with the new embossing mats to create the embossed section on the Soft Sea Foam card.

The octopus was inked with Grapefruit Grove and then I used Call Me Clover and Blueberry Bushel Stampin’ Write Markers using the thumping technique to add that extra bit of colour to the tentacles.

I love how the wood textures Designer Series Paper adds the perfect texture for the port hole!

Blog Hop: Casing the 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue with Animal Outings

35650140_10216367116633139_6605810454600089600_n

Dear Crafters,

Tonight the Art with Heart team are sharing creative projects CASED from the annual catalogue. If you would like a copy of the 2018 – 2019 annual catalogue, contact any of the girls on the blog hop and we will get in touch with you.

If you’re already hopping, then you just came to me from the lovely, Kathryn Ruddick. If you’re just joining, great! Use the “next” button at the end of my post to hop all the way around. Blog Hops are full circles, so you can start hopping here and then at the end of each post there is a link to the next one. There is also a list of participants at the end in case of any broken links.

Now let’s get started!

At OnStage in April, we got the Animal Outings stamp set in our bags when we arrived and I couldn’t have been more pleased. I think everyone who attended the event were super excited that we had some Aussie animal friend images.

The other great news once we got our hands on the catalogue, was that there are coordinating framelits so we don’t have to fussy cut each of the images, super exciting! So when 1st June came around, those framelits were first on my order.

I have cased my cards from page 26 of the catalogue.

The base card is the new Granny Apple Green with the leaves die cut in Shaded Spruce. The banners are from the Nature’s Poem DSP and that small scallop edge is Blackberry Bliss (a returning colour) cut with the Decorative Ribbon Border punch. I coloured the kangaroo & koala with Stampin’ Blends and popped it up on dimensionals.

See that little Blackberry Bliss heart? It was actually an extra piece left over when the rhino was die cut and I trimmed it slightly. The sentiment was stamped in Soft Suede ink.

Animal Outings Rhino die_2018.jpg

My next card uses the cute giraffe, again coloured with Stampin’ Blends. I’ve used So Saffron as my card base so the giraffe would stand out more. I’ve also used Crumb Cake and Soft Sea Foam.  I love this die cut background.

Animal Outings Giraffe welcome card, Stampin Up by Kate Morgan, Australia, 2018.

The sentiment was stamped on Whisper White and cut out with the Tailored Tag punch. The branches were coloured with a Blender Pen and inkpads and added with Tombo multipurpose glue.

This last card is cased from page 48 of the catalogue (below) and it is my favourite.

Annual Catalogue Stampin Up 2018 Pg48.JPG

I wanted to make it sweet and feminine, so I have used some of the Petal Promenade DSP and a Pearlised Doilie to soften the tone along with lots of different embellishments.

Animal Outings Rhino & Petal Promenade DSP Stampin Up 2018 by Kate Morgan Australia.JPG

I stamped the rhino image repeatedly across the background of the new colour, Gray Granite, card base in the coordinating ink pad. A banner of the Petal Promenade DSP was glued down over the doilie, then a thin banner of Silver Glimmer paper. The rhino is added with dimensionals.

The Share What You Love Artisan Pearls, White Dotted Tulle and a White Baker’s Twine bow finish it off nicely.

Art with Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop featuring Berry Burst

Hello Crafters,

Some of the Art With Heart team have decided to do a weekly Blog Hop that highlights a different colour in our range each week. Today we are featuring the 2017-2019 In Colour, Berry Burst!!!

My cardstock layers are Mossy Meadow, Very Vanilla and Berry Burst, I’m also using the Springtime Impressions butterfly die, cut with vellum and the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper underneath.

The vellum butterfly is adhered with Tombo Multipurpose glue down the centre with rhinestones coloured with an Old Olive Stampin’ Blends Marker and some Metallic Edged Berry Burst ribbon for the antennae.

How pretty is that DSP as a feature under this butterfly?!!! I love it!

I haven’t added a sentiment yet, just waiting for the right event to add what’s appropriate.

Head on over to Catherine’s blog where you’ll find the links to all of the participants for this week.

Bench Fold card with Varied Vases Bundle

Dear Crafters,

Today I share a bench fold card that uses the Varied Vases bundle from the brand new Stampin’ Up! Annual catalogue. This is a wonderful bundle which has 34 photopolymer stamps in the set and a coordinating punch to cut out the images. The best part is that it’s only $68.25 for the bundle!

The Wood Textures DSP is also carrying over into this new catalogue, which is wonderful news. This rarely happens but it has been so popular and it coordinates with so many of our wonderful products.

This was the card I made for my mum for Mother’s Day this year ♥

Thinking of You Fancy Fold with Nature’s Poem DSP

Dear Crafters,

Today I share my own design Fancy Fold card using Designer Series Paper!

No more hoarding DSP in my house this year, I need to use it and this style is perfect. You can use any of the Designer papers in the Stampin’ Up! range to create all types of cards and the best part is you can get 2 cards from 1 sheet of 12″ x 12″!

Each card measures 12″ x 6″ scored at 1¾”, 4¾”, 7¾” and it fits into our C6 envelopes.

Fun Fold Nature's Poem DSP, Rooted in Nature Stampin Up Thinking of You Card by Kate Morgan, Australia 2018

Here it is fully open. The first fold is glued down to the front of the card. Depending on the reverse design of your paper, it can give a striking effect as seen here. This also makes the card stronger. I didn’t want to put a large piece of card in the centre to write the message for two reasons, I didn’t want to cover up that gorgeous paper and secondly I cut it down to fit behind the large sentiment when the card is closed.

Fun Fold Nature's Poem DSP, Rooted in Nature Stampin Up Thinking of You Card by Kate Morgan, Australia 2018.

Just look at those leaves ♥ I am so in love with the new Big Shot Embossing Mats! Not only did I emboss the leaves on the white message piece, but also embossed them in coordinating coloured card and then die cut them to add even more texture to the front of the card.

With all the excitement of the new catalogue, today I want to share some cards with a handy tip on using the new Pearl Doilies.

This card below looks like it uses a doily behind the circle sentiment, doesn’t it?!!

Share What You Love & Make a Difference by Kate Morgan, Australia.

Well, it does, but I have actually cut out the centre of it before adding the sentiment to the card, because it would be a waste to actually use the entire doily and cover most of it up, right?

Share What You Love DSP & Make a Difference by Kate Morgan, Australia

Check out this card! Yes, it is that inside part of the doily above, so we were able to get 2 cards from the one doily!!!

Now, I also promised to share how I made this sentiment with the Make a Difference stamp set and the Stamparatus. Click here for the written tutorial!

Share What You Love SDSP Gift Box with card hanger

Dear Crafters,

Today I share a project that I saw Rhonda Wade create on her FB page and I immediately fell in love with it. It uses 2 sheets of the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper and that gets you the box and the card!

With this Specialty DSP being so thick, it makes this box super sturdy and so big, that you could fit so much into it; a beautiful scarf, clothing, 2 bottles of wine, whatever you really like!

And how cool it is to have that card hanger on the front to hang your coordinating card!

I also used the Make a Difference Stamp set with the Stamparatus for the sentiment and I will show you how that was made in a separate post on Friday!

The inside of the card looks like this! I love both sides of this DSP that you don’t want to hide it by gluing it to the front of a card base, so folding it in half and adding a piece of A6 cardstock to the back as the base, you get to see both sides!

Team Day celebrations

Dear Crafters,

On Saturday, I spent the day in the city at our Art With Heart Team Day!

It was a fantastic event for our wider team with 45 ladies attending, including Clare Langsford, Demonstrator Development Manager for Stampin’ Up! Australia who flew down from Sydney to share the day with us. We had talks from fellow demonstrators, 4 project demonstrations, 3 Make & Takes and Prize Patrol. It was just like a mini OnStage event!

We even had our own Instagram board for photos ♥

Blog Hop: In Colors

Blog Hop In Colour.jpg

Dear Crafters,

Tonight the Art with Heart team are sharing creative projects featuring “in color” theme. Check out the new 2018 – 2020 in colors and lets not forget the current 2017 – 2019 in colors. If you would like a copy of the 2018-2019 annual catalogue, contact any of the girls on the blog hop and we will get in touch with you.

If you’re already hopping, then you just came to me from Rebecca Jacovou. If you’re just joining, great! Use the “next” button at the end of my post to hop all the way around. Blog Hops are full circles, so you can start hopping here and then at the end of each post there is a link to the next one. There is also a list of participants at the end in case of any broken links.

Now let’s get started!

I am so excited about the new upcoming in colors, they are just so bright and cheery and I love them all. They are just like a rainbow of colour and that makes me happy, so my first two cards use the 2018-2020 in colors!

This first card I have just cut panels of card and glued them to a piece of Very Vanilla card then glued it to the front of the Lovely Lipstick (my favourite in colour!) card base. A piece of Dotted Ribbon was placed across the centre. The sentiment is stamped onto a die cut from the Stitched Shapes Framelits and added with dimensionals.

Sentiment of My Heart In Color Blog Hop 2018 Stampin Up Annual catalogue by Kate Morgan Australia

This stamped sentiment is the Stampin’ Up! Statement of the Heart and it says everything to me and everyone else on this blog hop, what crafting means to us. Isn’t it beautiful??!

This next one is also using these same in colors; Blueberry Bushel, Call Me Clover, Grapefruit Grove, Lovely Lipstick & Pineapple Punch. The new Handwritten background stamp was placed in the Stamparatus to get this 3-toned effect. The Stampartus made it so much easier to ink up the sections starting with the lightest to the darkest, lining up the image perfectly. And if you haven’t got the crisp image and miss a little, you can ink it up again and re-stamp!

2018 In Color Blog Hop Handwritten Love What You Do Thank You card Stampin Up Annual catalogue by Kate Morgan Australia

The sentiment and flower image are from the Love What You Do stamp set. Can you see the Wink of Stella on those petals? So pretty! I added some gingham ribbon and Faceted Dots.

2018 In Color Blog Hop Handwritten Love What You Do Thank You card Stampin Up Annual catalogue by Kate Morgan Australia.

This next card uses Berry Burst & Powder Pink, 2017-2019 in colors, paired with Whisper White. Again I used the Stamparatus for the sentiment, but stamping it in Powder Pink, then using the Berry Burst Stampin’ Write marker to apply ink to the bottom of the sentiment end re-stamping for that dual tone.

Abstract Impressions Stampin Up 2018 Butterfly with handmade bead by Kate Morgan Australia

I have used the new Abstract Impressions bundle which will be available on 1st June. I was worried when the Butterflies thinlits were retiring, so this bundle was a must have for me!  I really wanted the butterfly to be the feature, so I die cut the image in Berry Burst card and the floral image in Whisper White, the same as the card base.

Abstract Impressions Stampin Up 2018 Butterfly with handmade bead by Kate Morgan, Australia

Check out the centre of the butterfly. Can you see what I’ve done? It’s like a handmade bead! I cut a 4½” strip of DSP, tapered off at one end. Add some glue and roll it up around a skewer. Leaving the bead on the skewer, I then added some Fine Tip glue over the entire thing to make it shiny (a bit hard to tell in the photo) and let it dry overnight across the top of a bowl before adding it to my butterfly. I glued a little twine in the top for its antennae.

Thanks for visiting today.
