Boho bakes a cake!

Dear Crafters,

Following on from yesterday’s post with the Build a Birthday stamp set, I wanted to share some more cards with you, also using the Bohemian Borders stamp set!

So what do you think? Just a whole lot of lines and patterns? Yes, well that is what I thought too when I first saw this stamp set and wondered why on earth I needed to have it! Well, as I share this next card with you, you too, may just be adding this stamp set to your next order!!!

I am also using the Build A Birthday stamp set for the cake stand, sentiment and the banner at the top, but my cake layers are stamped using the Bohemian Borders stamp set.

Create it the same way that we placed the layers yesterday, but you may have noticed that the layers are shorter than the stamps themselves. Well here’s a handy little tip: take 2 large post it notes and put them along the side of the card lining them up with the edges of the cake stand, then stamp. Peel away the post it notes and you have a perfectly baked cake! lol

Don’t you just love baking cakes? Well this is mess free baking, unless of course you get ink everywhere!

Don’t forget to decorate the inside of your card and the envelope!

Blog Hop: New Annual Catalogue

Today I bring you another AWHT blog hop with some of the awesome ladies in the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! Team. Today our focus is on our New Annual Catalogue!

For my projects today, I have used the Build a Birthday Stamp Set.

I was so excited when I first saw this set demonstrated at Convention on the Gold Coast, that it was going straight onto my wish list! And let me tell you, it hasn’t disappointed. I have made so many cards already with this versatile stamp set.

This card is made using Night of Navy, Crumb Cake and Bermuda Bay. I am totally loving this colour combination.

Build a Birthday Stampin Up!

I have used Bermuda Bay as my card base with a layer of Crumb Cake. The images are stamped onto Whisper White card using the Build a Birthday stamps, layering each one on top of the other with the coordinating ink pads. The best bit is that this set in photopolymer (completely clear) so you can easily line up the layers, one on top of the other!

I added some Bermuda Bay sequin trim, how gorgeous does it look? Check out that shine!

Dear Crafters,

Today I share with you another sneak peek of some new product in the Annual Catalogue which starts 2 June!

This stamp set I use today is the Ronald McDonald House Charities set for this year. Stampin’ Up! donates time and money to support RMHC. Who doesn’t love ice-cream, right?!!! It is certainly a special treat in our house and my kids love this card I am about to share with you today.

This stamp set is photopolymer, so it is completely clear so you can stamp exactly where you want it to be! Love, love, love my photopolymer stamps!!!

The base card is Pool Party with a layer of Strawberry Slush, then a layer of Watercolour paper. I stamped the ice-cream scoops onto Watercolour paper in the above inks and used my Aqua-painters to water colour the centres.

I used the coordinating Tree Builder Punch to cut them out. This makes cardmaking so easy!

Now, you know when your order of Stampin’ Up! goodies arrives at your door in a Big Brown Box and all that extra brown paper, well….. that brown paper does come in handy some times! Check out the cone – I scrunched up some of that brown paper and then flattened it slightly and put it on some card that has lots of rows of Fast Fuse on it. It sticks really well. Then I stamp the cone image and cut it out!

I added the ice-cream scoops and the happy birthday banner with dimensionals. The small pole is just a toothpick!

I absolutely love this set and know that you will too, especially once I share some other projects over the next few months as I am sure to make plenty with this set!

Starburst Sayings

Welcome to another card made with retiring products!

Today I use the Starburst Sayings Stamp Set and coordinating Starburst framelits.

I am loving these framelits for not only coordinating with this stamp set, but also use them by themselves, as I showed you on Monday with the Baby We’ve Grown cards. Click here to view that post again.

I used a Basic Black card base embossed with the Chevron TIEF. I used Hello Honey ribbon and ink and the coordinating framelits to die cut the image.

I love that this sentiment could be used for a birthday card or just to send someone to cheer them up as a Random Act of Kindness. It is such a versatile stamp set and another one that I am sad to see retire 😦

Ready for Convention 2015

Dear Crafters,

I am getting in early today as I am heading to the airport in an hour or so, to travel to the Gold Coast for the Stampin’ Up! Convention!!!! Yay!!! So exciting!!!!

So today, I want to share with you my Convention Swaps. These are card fronts that we, as demonstrators make, to swap with other demonstrators on the first morning of Convention. I have made 52 to take and swap tomorrow morning in various mixed colours. Here are a few of them:

Stampin' Up! Owl Balloon

Sorry they have a bit of reflection, but I seal them into plastic bags so they stay nice and clean and don’t get ruined in my bag travelling.

I have embossed a piece of Whisper White card stock with the Large Polka Dot TIEF. The balloons are die cut from the Balloon Framelits which are still available in the Occasions Catalogue. These are embossed with the Lucky Stars TIEF or Decorative Dots TIEF. The sentiments are stamped from A Dozen Thoughts stamp set.

Stampin' Up! Owl Balloon

The owl is made using the Owl Builder Punch and Sahara Sand card stock and coordinating Designer Series Paper. His wings are made using the wings from the Bird Builder Punch. Don’t you love the way I have folded his left wing to hold the twine?!!! So damn cute! The owl is attached to the card with dimensionals.

Fit for a High Tea

Dear Crafters,

My daughter went to a High Tea Party for her good friend’s 9th birthday a few weeks ago and we made this card for her.

Cupcake Stand

I used lots of my retired products on this card, such as the Primrose Petals and Midnight Muse card stock. I loved these colours and still use them.

The little cupcake stamp is not a Stampin’ Up! product but it worked perfectly for this card. I coloured them using the Aqua Painter Pen and inkpads.

Don’t you just love the little awning over the shop front?!! It was created with the Word Window Punch in alternating colours!

The kids had a wonderful time at the High Tea Party.

Perfect Blend

Dear Crafters,

Today I share a card I made using MDS (My Digital Studio), the computer program that Stampin’ Up! have had for a few years now, and will no longer offer from 31st May 2015. I am devastated about this news, but I will still use the program, there just won’t be access to new downloads or customer support.

This card was made for a special fellow demonstrator who has supported me greatly and it was her birthday earlier this month. We both loved our coffee so I thought this was the perfect blend for her!

Surprisingly I don’t own this stamp set, so I downloaded it in MDS for only a couple of dollars and I can use as many times as I like as well as resize it to whatever size I want!!!

I printed the images onto Sahara Sand card and fussy cut them out.

I printed them again but this time onto some of the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack and cut out the sections I wanted. How clever is that!!!

I added some Silver Glitter card and some Strawberry Slush Baker’s Twine and added all the elements with dimensionals.

Totally Crazy About You

Dear Crafters,

Here are some cards I made which are very simple and very quick to make.

I have used the Crazy About You stamp set with the coordinating 1-3/4″ scallop circle punch.

Crazy About You

The base card is Strawberry Slush with a layer of Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper down the centre.

The flowers are stamped in Strawberry Slush ink on Whisper White card stock and a vellum scallop circle is cut using the 2-3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. I used a brad to join the flowers together, then glued them to the card.

Floral Cantaloupe

Dear Crafters,

Late last month, I shared some cards made with the 2013-2015 In Colours which will retire in a couple of months when the new Annual Catalogue is released and I will be very sad to see them go. I just love these colours!

I have used a Bundle from the Occasions Catalogue and with each bundle you can save an extra 15%. The bundle is Petal Potpourri stamp set and the coordinating Flower Medallion punch.

The base card is Crisp Cantaloupe with a layer of Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper.

The flowers are stamped in Crisp Cantaloupe ink on the Crisp Cantaloupe & Whisper White card stock and some vellum and punched out using the coordinating Flower Medallion Punch. I used dimensionals to add the flowers to the card, slightly overlapping them.

Motorbike for the boys

Dear Crafters,

Today I share a card I made using MDS (My Digital Studio), the computer program that Stampin’ Up! have had for a few years now, and will no longer offer from 31st May 2015. When I heard this is was disappointed, as I had purchased many downloads and use the program for my scrapbooking and designing my blog headers. But in saying this, we can still use the program, there just won’t be access to new downloads.

This card was made for a young man in his 20s for his birthday. At that age, I find masculine cards more difficult, but love this motorbike stamp which I downloaded in MDS for only a couple of dollars and can use as many times as I like!!!

I printed the image onto white card and cut it to the size required. I coloured it with Stampin’ Write Markers. As the saying goes, Red goes faster, so that is what I chose!!!!

How awesome does it look?!!!
