Birthday

Birthday Washi Cake

Dear Crafters,

Washi Tape is certainly becoming a huge part of the craft world and it is no wonder as to why.

What’s to love about washi tape? Everything! The designs and colors. The versatility. The simplicity – just tear, tape, and transform. Go basic and use single strips as accents. Or step it up and combine strips to create custom backgrounds, decorate, and more. It’s an effortless way to add color to your projects and it’s not expensive.

Today I am using the richly coloured, Bohemian Designer Washi Tape, 3 rolls per pack, 1 of each design. It comes in 3 widths, 1 roll of each width: 3/8″, 1/2″, 5/8″ and it is 5 yards per roll for only $8.75. Coordinating colours: Bermuda Bay, Delightful Dijon, Island Indigo, Rich Razzleberry, Very Vanilla.

Build a Birthday Stampin' Up!

I began stamping the cake stand in Tip Top Taupe ink and then layered the Washi Tape. It’s that easy!

Then stamped the banner on the top in Rich Razzleberry ink and punched some stars from coordinating card stock.

I stamped some candles on the inside of the card and added 2 strips of washi tape across the bottom of the envelope.

You could make loads of these cards using different washi tape. So quick and easy, it’s almost scary hehe.

Wedding

Wedding Bliss

Dear Crafters,

Today I share with you another sneak peek of a new product in the Annual Catalogue. This stamp set is also what I will be showcasing at my next class on Saturday 6th June at 1pm. To view my full list of classes, click here.

This stamp set is called Build a Birthday, but yes, I have changed the theme and made a wedding card from it. This just shows how versatile this set is, and you won’t believe what other things we can make with this stamp set.

This stamp set is photopolymer, so it is completely clear so you can stamp exactly where you want without using the Stamp-a-ma-jig!

Build a Birthday Stampin' Up!

The base card is Basic Black with a layer of Whisper White, then another layer of Basic Black. I stamped the cake stand in Versamark ink directly onto the black card and added some white embossing powder before heat setting it with the heat gun.

The cake layers are strips of washi tape that I have lined up on some white card in layers. I put it onto white card because the washi tape is sheer and it wouldn’t have shown if stuck directly to the black card stock). I cut out the cake indenting between the layers, before adhering to the top of the cake stand. So simple but super effective.

Build a Birthday Stampin' Up!

I added some little gold glitter flowers with glue dots and a rhinestone in the centre of each one, and a gold bow to finish it off.

I absolutely love this set and know that you will too, especially once I share some other projects over the next few months as I am sure to make plenty with this set!

Don’t forget to decorate the inside of your card and the envelope so everything coordinates with a little of the washi tape!!!

Washi Tape

Hello Crafters,

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Today I share with you a card that we did at my Punch Art class a week or so ago. I wanted to share with the class just how easy it is to create a card in just a few minutes with Washi Tape!!!

Petite Petals

All we did was apply 3 strips of Wash Tape to one side of the card before using Petite Petals Bundle, Label Love Bundle and the Papillon Potpourri and coordinating punch.

Begin by stamping the images onto cardstock, punching them out and adhering them with dimensionals to the card. It’s that easy!!!!

Stampin’ Up! have some amazing stamp sets with coordinating punches and I have used 3 of them here.

Gingham Garden Washi Tape

I accidentally splashed a little bit of pink ink onto my card, so instead of getting mad and throwing it away and starting again, I decided to bring out the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and grunge it up a bit… you can’t even tell I made a mistake right?!!!!

The Washi Tape is Gingham Garden and this also has a coordinating Designer Series Paper.

The inks used are Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight. They are so bright and cheery.

I also added some rhinestones to the centres of the flowers for a bit of bling.

I will be back on Wednesday with some Mother’s Day cards ready for Sundays celebrations, so be sure to check back then.

Fun with Washi Tape

Hello Fellow Crafters!

Thanks for stopping by to see my Fun with Washi Tape post.

The idea for today’s card was some inspiration I found on Pinterest. This card has lots of white space topped with a sweet little Washi tape present complete with bow. I added a small yellow background for a splash of happiness!

This is one of the quickest cards ever to put together and great for mass producing.

Thought I might even do this for a group of non-crafters at my next Party so they can see just how easy it is to make a quick card without being overwhelmed.

Then I came across the idea of making some cute Washi Tape toothpick flags, while baking cupcakes for my daughter’s 4th birthday.  Stay tuned to see them another day!

What I love so much about working with Washi Tape is that the projects are so quick, easy and the tape is so workable…. and it’s fun!
