Beautiful Butterflies fun closure card

This handmade card features  the Beautiful Butterflies products.

I made this style of card back in 2018, you can see it here, where I was inspired by Terri Gaines, a US Demonstrator. Her video tutorial is in that link.

For this card, I began with a Summer Splash cardbase, then a Basic White layer before adding the 2024-2026 In Color™ Designer Series Paper ( DSP), making sure to only add glue around the edges. Once these layers were adhered, I die cut the large label die [Beautiful Butterflies dies] through the card front. The DSP piece keep for the inside.

The butterflies were die cut in the 2024-2026 In Color™ Glimmer Specialty Paper.  Adhere the smaller butterflies, add the sentiment [Beautiful Butterflies stamp set] on Dimensionals with a piece of White Baker’s Twine. Some 2024-2026 In Color™ Shimmer Gems are added.

Fold her wings together to open the card…

Here’s the card open with white panel to write your message. This is where that DSP label die cut is adhered. Once the Basic White insert is glued in place, close the card and place that DSP through the gap so it is in the perfect position. Then you can glue the body of the large butterfly in place and fold her wings together to fit through the gap.

Smoky Slate: Z Fold card with Everyday Arches and Beautiful Butterflies

Week 49 – Smoky Slate

This handmade card features a Smoky Slate card base measuring 29.7cm x 10.5cm, scored at 9.9cm & 19.8cm and folded in three and dry embossed with the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing folder. The Everyday Arches dies are used to die cut 3 x Bubble Bath arches, 3 x Smoky Slate arches and 3 x Basic White arches.

The large butterfly die is cut in the three colours and glued together in the centre. The body is die cut in Basic Black card. Two of the Basic White arches are stamped with Versamark ink, White WOW Emboss Powder added and melted with my Heat Tool. A Blending Brush with Bubble Bath ink is blended over the butterflies to reveal the magic! This is known as the Emboss Resist Technique.

I also took the Smoky Slate and Bubble Bath Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers and gently placed the larger tip inside the lid and carefully flicked ink onto the White arches to get the splatters.

When assembling the card, the Bubble Bath arches are glued on first to the card base, then a piece of gold Open Weave Trim across the card length. The White and Slate arches are glued together and then onto the card.

The sentiment is also heat embossed with White Wow Emboss Powder and added on Mini Dimensionals. Some sequins were added to the centre of the butterfly and around the card.

The centre panel is splattered with Blends Markers and embellishments around the edges. This is the panel for writing a message. Thes smaller butterflies were die cut from Bsic White card that I splattered with the Blends Markers before die cutting. Then added the body in Basic Black card.

The last panel is the same as the front panel with emboss resist and blending, and some more die cut butterflies and sequins added.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next Wednesday for inspiration using Soft Sea Foam.

Heart of Christmas Week 11: Quilted Woven Star card

Heart of Christmas Header 2024 - 1

I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Monday evening for the AWHT Heart of Christmas Blog Hop showcasing Stampin’ Up! seasonal products.

Week 11

Today I feature the Take a Bow 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) in this fun Quilted Woven Star design. I was inspired by Tamara’s Paper trail and you can watch her Youtube tutorial here.

Quilted Woven Star card using Take a Bow DSP Week 11 HOC by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2024

A Thick Basic White card base with a layer of Basic White dry embossed with the Cute Crotchet 3D Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. A piece of the DSP is added across the card behind the main feature.

The embossed woven star is layered onto some Real Red cardstock and added to the card front on Dimensionals. The sentiment [Peaceful Season stamp set] is stamped directly onto the card in Real Red ink and I love how the embossed pattern shines through. If you don’t like that look, you could stamp the sentiment before dry embossing that layer. A silver Drusy Adhesive-backed Embellishment is added to the centre of the star to finish.

Daffodil Delight: Full of Life Birthdays

2024-25 blog header

I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Wednesday evening for the AWHT Colour Creations Blog Hop showcasing the full range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 22 – Daffodil Delight

Today I feature the Full of Life 6″ x 6″ DSP and the Alphabet A La Mode dies for this inlay technique.  I began with a 3″ strip of the DSP which I cut down to the length of my card and added Adhesive Sheet behind it. I placed the ‘birthday’ letters on top and held them in place with a large post it note so they didn’t move and ran it through my die cutting machine. I did the same on a piece of Black cardstock. I glued the DSP panel to a piece of Textured Metallic Specialty Foil Paper and glued it to the cardfront.

The letters were replaced with the black letters and because I didn’t want to waste the colourful letters, I recreated the card in reverse! On this second card, I mounted the black card onto some of the Gold Foil from the same Textured Metallic Specialty Paper pack! The ‘happy’ is stamed in Versamark ink, White WOW Emboss Powder added and melted with my Heat Tool.

Blackberry Bliss: Enduring Beauty Faux Embossed Tile Card

2024-25 blog header

I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Wednesday evening for the AWHT Colour Creations Blog Hop showcasing the full range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 11 – Blackberry Bliss

Today I feature the Enduring Beauty Stamps and Masks in this Embossed Tile card. On some Basic White card, I used the masks and Blending Brushes to colour the main image using Fresh Freesia & Blackberry Bliss inks for the flowers and Pool Party & Shy Shamrock inks for the leaves.

Once this was done, I embossed the panel using the Cute Crochet 3D Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, then cut it into 3cm squares. Placing Dimensionals on the back of each square, I lined them up onto a piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock eith a narrow border bwtween them. Once all were adhered I trimmed it to size. This was glued to a Basic White cardbase (although the fading light made it look more Vanilla). The outline image for these marks was stamped in the corner on the inside of the card and the envelope.

The lovely sentiment is heat embossed with White Emboss Powder onto Blackberry Bliss card and fussy, then adhered on Dimensionals with a White Baker’s  Twine bow placed below on a Glue Dot. Some Iridescent Adhesive-backed Discs finish it off. It’s always handy to have some sympathy/thinking of you cards in your stash for when you least expect to need them.

Pretty in Pink: Faux Pinwheel card

2024-25 blog header

I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Wednesday evening for the AWHT Colour Creations Blog Hop showcasing the full range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 3 – Pretty in Pink

With the release of the new Annual catalogue, we begin our blog hops with the new In Color™ range, followed by the new Basic Beige, then all the other Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order. So today, we have the second new 2024-2026 In Color™, Pretty in Pink.

2024-2026 IN COLORS

Today I feature the Faux Pinwheel design with the gorgeous Unbounded Beauty DSP.  The patterns are so beautiful and I wanted to feature two of them here. The background Pretty in Pink layer is embossed with the Eyelet 3D Impressions Folder then splattered with some Petunia Pop Blends Marker, by placing the tip inside the lid and gently flicking it onto the card.

faux pinwheel card with Unbounded Beauty DSP for Pretty in Pink Colour Creations blog hop by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2024

The pinwheel is created using two squares of 7cm x 7cm Summer Splash card and eight pieces of DSP 3cm x 3cm.  The ‘celebrate’ is Gold Foil and created using the Thoughtful Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder. This is a folder and the die which sits inside the folder and cuts the sentiments at the same time when run through the Cut & Emboss Machine.

The colour of this image is not quite right, it’s looking more purple as the daylight was disappearing when I photographed it, but you can see the detail up close. The Paper Butterfly Accents are added behind the sentiment and adhered on dimensionals, so it gives a little height.  Some 2024-2026 In Color™ Shimmer Gems are added too!

CCBH: Old Olive

2023-2024 AWH Colour Creations header

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 36 – Old Olive

How are you enjoying the new Mini catalogue?  Have you placed an order and what was your favourite new product?

Today I feature the Planted Paradise stamp set in this very simple card.  I am very limited in my supplies this week, as I cannot get to my cardstock while we don’t have an ensuite. Last week it was totally demolished for a complete rebuild. I’m just glad the 2 days of jack jammering has finished, eek that was loud. Next week the tiling will be done and I’ll be able to access my cardstock again. Anyway enough of my hectic life, back to the card!

The card base is Thick Basic White. The vase is stamped in Pebbled Path ink. The plants are stamped in Old Olive and some also have Pebbled Path ink done with the rock n roll technique, where you ink the image in Old Olive, then roll the stamp on its edges on the Pebbled Path inkpad to get the dual tone, then stamp. Each of these are fussy cut with Paper Snips, some of the plants are cut between the leaves and added behind.

Planted Paradise Rock n Roll Technique card for Old Olive Colour Creations Blog Hop by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2024.

The circle behind the feature, is created using Blending Brushes and Old Olive ink. I die cut a circle (Stylish Shapes dies) from some scrap card as the template. I also flicked some Pebbled Path ink from my Pebbled Path Stampin’ Write Marker. I added the feature pieces on Stampin’ Dimensionals, a Linen Thread bow added on a Glue Dot and some Rhinestone Jewels added on the vase. I have deliberately left off a sentiment until the time comes to use this card. It could be used for any occasion!

Here you can see the splatter and the dimension of the plant.

Planted Paradise Rock n Roll Technique card for Old Olive Colour Creations Blog Hop by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2024

The Glass Mat Studio is amazing. As a Demonstrator, I was able purchase this early, as it is on offer during Saleabration as part of your joining kit (worth $106!). It is such a wonderful tool. One feature I use it for is ink blending. I tap my inkpad onto the glass, then use the Blending Brushes to pick the ink up. Once done, simply wipe the ink clean with the Cleaning Cloth provided. Another item included is the white Silicone Mat as shown below. Place your open inkpad on it so it doesn’t slide around using your Blending Brushes, while you hold your mask in place. It is great to mix ink colours for watercolouring. More reasons why I love this tool can be seen here.

Lost Lagoon: Fancy Fold with Bee Mine & Fluffiest Friends

2023-2024 AWH Colour Creations header

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 31 – Lost Lagoon

This week, I have a sneak peek of some new Designer Series Paper to be released in the new January-April Mini Catalogue. I am also featuring product from the Online Exclusives, the Fluffiest Friends Bundle. I love this furry bear with his big red pot of golden honey, it just makes me smile and I had a ball colouring it in. But more about that later.

Bee Mine Fluffiest Friends Fancy Fold card Stampin Up Mini catalogue 2024 by Kate Morgan, Australia Online Exclusives 2023

I realise Lost Lagoon isn’t one of the colours in the Bee Mine Designer Series Paper, but I felt it was a great grounding colour.  I embossed a strip and glued it to the left side and two different patterns of the DSP to the right. The Sweet Sorbet Ribbon & bow was added along with some Adhesive-backed Hearts. The sentiment from the Something Fancy stamp set, was stamped and cut with Paper Snips and added on dimensionals.

Bee Mine Fluffiest Friends Fancy Fold card Stampin Up Mini catalogue 2024 by Kate Morgan, Australia Online Exclusives 2023 close

The bear is stamped in Smoky Slate ink and coloured using Blends Combo Markers; Gray Granite (D), Crumb Cake (L, D), Daffodil Delight (L, D), Real Red (L, D).  Then using my 35 year old Derwent Pencils, I added the texture of the fur & surrounds. Alisa Tilsner has a paid class on how to do this, but I definitely need a lot more practise.  I die cut it using the Stylish Shapes die.

Bee Mine Fluffiest Friends Fancy Fold card Stampin Up Mini catalogue 2024 by Kate Morgan, Australia Online Exclusives 2023 standing

The front and back panels of the card are our standard A5 size. The card is suspended on the centre mechanism that is scored 3 times to have 4 panels. The Scalloped Contour dies were used to cut the 3 white scalloped panels, the white tag and the scallop border where the white tag fits into.  Some more of the DSP is added to the panels and the 3 jars are cut directly from the patterned paper.

Lemon Lime Twist: Cheerful Daisies Lattice Cards Two Ways

2023-2024 AWH Colour Creations header

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 30 – Lemon Lime Twist

Today I have two cards for you, both using a lattice technique.

The first one is using the Nested Essentials dies to cut the front of the Thick Very Vanilla card base.  Then I used 1cm strips to create and interweave the pieces from the back of the card. Adding Tear & Tape around the edges of the die cut from behind, helped to hold the strips in place. Once they were done, I cut a piece of the Lemon Lime Twist paper from the Brights 6 x 6 DSP pack, to size to place over the lattice to hide the mess!

Cheerful Daisies Lattice Card by Kate Morgan, Stmpin Up Australia Lemon Lime Twist Colour Creations Blog Hop 2023

Now it’s time to decorate with the Cheerful Daisies stamp set and coordinating dies. The pieces were all cut in Basic White card and coloured with Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers (colours listed below). The top die cut pieces are cut from the Three Colour Glimmer Specialty papers (Highland Heather & Petal Pink).

Decorate the inside with some left over pieces and/or stamped images.

My second card also has a lattice effect, although quite different. I got this idea from Rita Holmes (Ohio USA). I have altered it to metric measurements and used different products. I have used Fresh Freesia and Moody Mauve for this combination.
